Perfection - Best Day Ever! - Kitchen Sink Stamps

What could be better than a day on a Hawaiian beach? I wasn't sure that Hawaii had lighthouses, but I checked it out, and sure enough, they do! So I created this Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card featuring all the elements that would make up my Best Day Ever!

My intention was to create the spray of plumeria across the top of the card by masking and stamping it directly on the card front. I got all the way to the last plumeria at the bottom when I made a horrible misstep and ruined the whole thing. But, guess what!! SVG cut file to the rescue! I restamped the lower plumeria more to my liking on the SVG cut out and glued it over the boo boo! Card saved!!

The images used to create this card come from the following KSS sets:

Plumeria

Lighthouse

Cabin by the Lake

Summer Splashes

Beachcomber's Bounty

Sea Shells

Hawaiian Greetings

Layer 2 Close to Cocoa
Layer 3 Baked Brown Sugar
Layer 4 Chocolate Chip

Color Recipe for the Flip Flops Using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Blush
Layer 2 Pink Pearl
Layer 3 Rouge
Layer 4 Coral Bliss

The hibiscus from Hawaiian Greeting was then stamped on the SVG cut flip flops using Deep Iris. I then glued on jeweled flower stickers by the Paper Studio as additional decoration for the flip flops.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:

SCS Free 4 All Challenge - End of Summer

I still had these bits and pieces laying around on my desk when I read about the End of Summer Free 4 All Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Pulled this card together in no time at all! The beach ball and sentiment are from Summer Splashes which released on Monday. The waves were created with this SVG cut stencil.

5 O'Clock is CHEER!! - Kitchen Sink Stamps

I can't seem to put down these wonderful tropical images from Kitchen Sink Stamps. They take me to the beach when I am not able to get there! For today's cards I have used something from every one of the new release sets and then some!

Tiki Time

Plumeria

Summer Splashes

Beachcomber's Bounty

Hawaiian Greetings

Sea Shells

Ocean Waters

This first card was created for Sketch Challenge #867 at Splitcoaststampers. I used a brick embossing folder on the card front and added an angled strip of Graphic 45 designer paper. The tiki mug, plumeria, umbrella, and board sign were cut from white card stock using the KSS SVG cut files before they were stamped.

For this second card, I grounded the flip flops and shells by stamping the fishnet from Ocean Waters across the bottom corner of the card at an angle before attaching the stamped images.

Summer Splashes

Beachcomber's Bounty

Plumeria

and

I will be sharing you Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored cards I have created with these delightful sets throughout the week, but thought I would get started today with the following cards.

This first slimline design features the fabulously fun flip flops and some of the great sentiments which are a part of the Summer Splashes set. The flip flops which were cut with the SVG file available for this set are decorated with a hibiscus which is an image found in the Hawaiian Greetings set. The small shell is an image from Beachcomber's Bounty while the small star fish is from the Sea Shells sets which has been in the store for a good while.

The hibiscus were then added using Deep Iris

The striped designer paper making the towel on the beach is from American Crafts while the torn ocean papers and kraft beach are by the Paper Studio.
The sky is Bazzill blue and the card base is Watermelon Wonder by Stampin' Up as is the Painted Texture embossing folder used on the sand

This second card features the gorgeous Plumeria set which contains three different blooms and two leaves. I also used the SVG cut files for these flowers and leaves which make for easy arranging of the stunning blossoms and leaves without the need for masking. Attached is the color recipe I used for the flowers. You will notice on the color recipe that I did not stamp layer one as I wanted white highlights on the blossoms. The sentiment if from Hawaiian Greetings.

CCEE2132 - Vinyl Record Day

Today is Vinyl Record Day!  Vinyl Records for the longest time have been a thing of the past. But in recent years, they have started to make a big comeback with even new albums being released. For our CCEE Stampers Challenge this week hostess Frances Byrne is making  it all about the music. She is awarding bonus points if we included an image of a vinyl record on our card. Since I added three, maybe I'll get triple points!

Check out the ways in which the CCEE DT worked vinyl into their cards this week!

Tower Card - Kitchen Sink Stamps

For today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card I am sharing a fun fold called a Tower Card that my sweet cyber friend, Susan McFeggan, taught me. You can read about the construction of this card on this post from her blog, Simply Cards.

I adjusted the measurements just a bit to fit the images I wanted to use. The great thing about this clever design is that it folds flat to fit in an A2 envelope and then stands up as a tower when you remove it from the envelope.

Here is what the card looks like folded flat to go into the envelope.

The pop up piece which in inserted between the tower and the bird's nest panel was constructed with two 2 inch by 2 inch squares (Susan's card uses circles, but it really makes no difference what you choose to use) which were scored down the middle. They were glued score line to score line and allowed to dry. I them folded them flat and glued the back to the flattened tower lining it up on the center score line of each. The bird's nest panel was then glued to the front if this device which allows the bird's nest to pop out when the tower is opened up for standing. How fun is that!!

Here is what you get when you take the card out of the envelope and set up the tower.

The Kitchen Sink Stamps images I used

to create this card came from the following sets:

Spring Nest

Big Leaves

Build a Pine Branch

Tiny Norway Pine (retired)

Honey Bunny

Tree Friends

Summer Lemons (sentiment)

CCEE 2131 - International Beer Day

A brand new month means a new challenge hostess for the CCEE Stampers. Our August hostess is the talented Frances Byrne. Frances has informed us that August 6 is International Beer Day. She has therefore challenged the CCEE Stampers to include something beer or wine related on our cards this week.

I love this awesome beach guy from Art Impressions. I added a die cut beer bottle in his hand from Weekend Grill by Spellbinders. The sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios' Ways to Say Let's Drink. The sea birds are from By the Tide by Stampin' Up.

Let's see how the CCEE Stampers Design Team members are celebrating this fun day!!

Hello Sunshine - Kitchen Sink Stamps

We have just had our first week without rain in over a month, and it has me feeling kind of sun-shiny! So, of course, I reached for bright colors and sunflowers to create today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design.

To create this card I used images from the following KSS stamp sets:

Sunflowers

All Year Grapevine Wreath

Summer Lemons

The yellow striped paper is from Little Boy and the red and pink houndstooth is from Crate Paper.

I used the KSS SVG cut files to cut out all the pieces before stamping and assembling the card! Top sunflower is popped up on a dimensional.
