Valentine with Non-Traditional Colors - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card is my final Valentine of the year created using non-traditional colors along with images from Guitar, Heart & Roses, and Sweetheart Daisies (the sentiment).

 This is an A2 card with the guitar, roses, and leaves stamped on cut outs made with SVG cut files which are also available from Kitchen Sink Stamps. All inks used are from Altenew with the exception of the sentiment which was stamped with Versafine Clair Pinecone.

CCEE2139 - Classical Music Month

Lois Bak, our September CCEE Challenge hostess, tells us that September is also Classical Music Month. She has challenged the CCEE Stampers to create a card with a musical theme. It doesn’t have to be classical music. It could be Jazz, Country, Rock 'n Roll - anything musical, even a musical instrument.

I created this card to honor of my sister who has devoted herself to providing music to a number of prison ministries for many years. I framed this and gave it to her for her birthday. 

I love you, Liz, and the way in which the light of Christ shines through the life you live each and every day.

Let There Be Spring - KSS

I took my parents out for a Sunday drive yesterday afternoon to see if we could spot any Texas bluebonnets or Indian paintbrushes growing along the highway. We weren't too sure what our recent week of hard freeze would do to this year's crop of wildflowers. Along the highway, we found a tiny bunch of about 6 Indian paintbrushes and not a single bluebonnet. Then we turned off the main highway onto our favorite country road, and we were rewarded with acres and acres of bluebonnets! What a delight! I am sure we will visit them again in another week or two when they are in full bloom! 

Those beautiful blossoms inspired today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design! I call this card "Songs of Spring." Those gorgeous blue flowers certainly made my heart sing!

Texas Father's Day - KSS

I have been making a real effort of late to get my act together and be ready for things well ahead of time for a change. One of my huge character flaws is my tendency to procrastinate which can be a real problem when unexpected  events get thrown into the mix. And around my house, unexpected is often the word of the day!

Thanks so much for dropping in to see my busy desk this week! I am again taking part in Julia Dunnit's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and hope you are, too!

October has arrived and with it comes Breast Cancer Awareness throughout the United States. One of the annual cancer events I take part in is Splitcoaststampers' Hope You Can Cling To. The cards made by participants every day in October are mailed to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas to be used by patients and their families.

That is why my desk is an explosion of every pink paper, ribbon, and embellishment I could find and drag out of my stash. I am off to a good start with 4 cards completed today. Three of them are visible on my desk. I hope to have at least 10 finished and in the mail to Houston by Saturday. During last year's event I completed and mailed about 40 cards and hope to best that this year.

We have a winner!

A huge congratulations to SuperJen who was the first person to match the Kitchen Sink Crew members with the stamp set they requested that Maria design! I can't wait to see what she has Maria design for us for September! Maybe it will be backyard camping related! Only Jen knows!

Today I wanted to create cards which let the new images shine on their own. The only exception today is in the 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More cards where I did mix in layer 3 of the moon from Owl & Autumn Moon as a sun for my tropical paradise!
