Mother's Day - 2024 - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design is a simple yet fun fold which allows you to view both the front and the inside of your card once the card is completely open.

The card starts with an 8 1/2 inch by 5 1/2 inch sheet of colored cardstock scored at 2 1/8 inch and 4 1/4 inch.

I then stamped the front and inside panels and attached them to narrow black mats. I placed Score Tape on the left side of the front panel and attached it to the folded back front half of the card. I then attached the inside panel to the right half of the card being sure that it could not be seen when the card was closed.

Images for this design are from the following Kitchen Sink Stamps sets

Ladybug Valentine - Kitchen Sink Stamps

My slimline Ladybug Valentine card is this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design. It was created using images from Heart & Roses, Bold Holiday Greetings, Ladybug Hugs ( the word Ladybug), and Giant Sunflower (the ladybug). The background paper was created using the just released Digi Sweet Hearts Printable made to use in foiling.  I do not have the equipment or materials for foiling so I just printed this buffalo plaid heart design on a sheet of red Bazzill cardstock to make a fun designer paper background for my hearts and roses.

Color Recipe for the Roses using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Crimson
Layer 2 Crimson stamped twice
Layer 3 Vineyard Berry
Layer 4 Ruby Red

Color Recipe for the Leaves using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Shadow Creek
Layer 2 Mountain Pine
Layer 3 Evergreen

My new favorite inks for sentiments are Versafine Clair by Tsukineko. I stamped the word Valentine's on a panel cut using an SVG cut file available from Kitchen Sink Stamps that coordinates with Bold Holiday Greetings using Versafine Clair Tulip Red and then added Happy and Day on top of that using Versafine Claire Nocturne.

I am entering this card in the following challenges this week:

Sweet Thoughts of You - KSS

For today's card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I have mixed images from Carnations Multi Step Clear Stamps, Giant Sunflower Multi Step Clear Stamps (ladybug), and Berries Multi Step Clear Stamps (sentiment) to create a card for Splitcoaststampers' Color Challenge. The featured colors for today were Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Crushed Curry. I think they worked great for both the carnations and the ladybugs, don't you think?

KSS - Ladybug Parade

The 4th Monday of the month brings with it another Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. For this cheerful birthday card, I stamped the two sunflowers from Giant Sunflower Multi Step Clear Stamps first and then the stems and leaves. I next placed masks over the flowers and leaves and laid a lattice stencil over the top. Then it was safe to sponge the grassy background and the sky. After removing the stencil and the masks, I added the four ladybugs. Finally after matting it and mounting it to the card front, I added the Happy Birthday sentiment from Whole Family Clear Stamps with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Autumn Birthday - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Autumn birthdays were on my mind as I designed this week's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More cards sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I let the giant sunflower stamped in shades of red be the focus of this spray of autumn leaves and berries. For the 10 minute card I stamped directly on a kraft panel using masking. For the 20 minute design I stamped the leaves and sunflower on a separate white panel and cut them out to pop up over the stamped branch and berries with a little twine and burlap embellishment.

Kitchen Sink Stamps used for these cards include:

Giant Sunflower Multi Step Clear Stamps
Owl & Autumn Moon Multi Step Clear Stamps
Autumn Squirrel Multi Step Clear Stamps
Harvest Multi Step Clear Stamps
Simple Sentiments Clear Stamps

The berries were stamped with a pencil eraser.

Sunflower Birthdays - KSS 10+10

I am using today's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More designs sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps to create some cheerful birthday cards for two of my dear friends who are celebrating this week. I sure hope they like them!

To create these cards I used images from Giant Sunflower Multi Step Clear Stamps and sentiments from Make a Big Statement Clear Stamps and Simple Sentiments Clear Stamps. For these designs, I substituted the stem from Multi Step Lilac to create a taller flower.

This is the color recipe I used for the sunflowers on both cards:

Sunflower - Layer 3 Memento Peanut Brittle, Layer 2 Memento Cantaloupe, Layer 1 Memento Dandelion, 4 Papertrey Ink Classic Kraft, 5 Memento Espresso Truffle

Leaves - Layer 3 Memento Olive Grove, Layer 2 Memento Bamboo Leaves, Layer 1 Memento Bamboo Leaves

Lady Bug - Layer 3 Memento Tuxedo Black, Layer 2 Memento Lady Bug, Layer 1 Memento Rhubarb Stalk

10 Minute Card
The only embellishment on this card is the Martha Stewart punched edge.

20 Minute Card
For the next card I sponged a ground and sky background and added a die cut fence from Impression Obsession. The grass images come from Multi Step Birch Trees and 3 Step Honey Bunny. The sunflower, leaves and stem were fussy cut and mounted on dimensionals over the fence.

10 Minutes + 10 Minutes More Sunflower

The focus this week falls of the beautiful Kitchen Sink Sunflower. With only 10 minutes to work, I created a single layer design by masking the card front to stamp the plaid background. Once I removed the masks, I stamped the sunflower right over the plaid. The stamped I used on it include Giant Sunflower Multi Step Clear StampsLilac Multi Step Clear Stamps (stem), Plaid Plus! Clear Stamps, and Simple Sentiments Clear Stamps.

With the additional 10 minutes for the second card, I stamped the plaid on a separate panel which I then placed with repositional adhesive to the card front so I could stamp the sunflower. I then removed the panel and added a green layer and a brown layer with a punched edge. With the remaining time, I stamped the ladybug climbing up the stem and a grass border ( from Honey Bunny Multi Step Clear Stamps) along the bottom. Finally I added a little yellow Stickles to some of the sunflower petals for interest.

This is the order in which I stamped the layers on the sunflower and the inks I used:

Layer 3 - Memento Tangelo
Layer 2 - Memento Cantaloupe
Layer 1 - Memento Dandelion
Layer 4 - Memento Rich Cocoa
Layer 5 - Memento Espresso Truffle

Stem, Leaves, and Grass - Memento Bamboo Leaves and Northern Pines stamped off once

Lady Bug
Layer 3 Memento Tuxedo Black
Layer 2 Memento Lady Bug
Layer 1 Memento Lady Bug

KSS 10 Minute Monday - Fading Images

My thought for this week's 10 minute card was to stamp very pale and gentle images with a bold sentiment over them. For that reason I did not stamp a single image without stamping off the ink from the image at least once. Most layers were stamped off two or three times. I think this technique has possibilities. I will continue to experiment with it. If you create a card you would like to share in the Kitchen Sink Gallery using this technique and your Kitchen Sink images, add keyword 10MC83 to your entry.

KSS Ten Minute Monday

Another Monday has rolled around so that means it's time for a new Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 minute design. Today I have created a one layer design which allows the beautiful long-stemmed flowers to have center stage all to themselves. I cheated a little with the sunflower, hydrangea, and daisy by using the stem from Lilacs Multi Step Clear Stamps to get the height I wanted. It works for me!

After stamping the blossoms, I scored a 3/4 inch bar across the bottom of the card front from side to side jumping over the stems. I then masked that section and sponged a little color above and below it to make the added sentiment pop.

If you are inspired to use this design with your Kitchen Sink Stamps, please share your creation with our Kitchen Sink fans in the KSS Gallery and include keyword 10MC71.

KSS Ten Minute Challenge - Spring Flowers over Script

My absolute favorite clean and simple designs are single layer cards with beautiful layers of ink as the only embellishment. I have therefore designed this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 Minute Challenge using beautiful spring blossoms over a script background. I think today's design really lets the rich beauty of these stamps take center stage! The keyword is 10MC65 for those sharing a sample with us in the Kitchen Sink Gallery.

Because I wanted height on my flowers to lift them above the script, I used the stem of the lilac for all of the blossoms on this set of notecards.
