KSS - Celebrate the Season

Well, two more days and Christmas will be here! The hustle and bustle of preparations will be behind us, and the time to celebrate being with those we love will have arrived.

My family and I will be together to celebrate the love and forgiveness that came to us from God on that first Christmas so many years ago in the form of his beloved son, and the love we have for each other. We are blessed beyond measure.

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card features the following sets:

To create this design, I stamped two sprigs of mistletoe directly on the woodgrain designer paper I chose.

Color Recipe for the Mistletoe
Layer1 Memento Pistachio
Layer 2 Memento Olive Grove
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Mossy Meadow

The berries on the mistletoe were dotted on using a stylus and white acrylic paint. I then set that aside to dry while I stamped the skates on a separate white panel.

Color Recipe for the Skates
Layer1 Versafine Onyx Black
Layer 2 Memento London Fog
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Going Gray
Layer 4 PTI Soft Stone stamped 3 times
Layer 5 PTI Soft Stone on the blades only

After fussy cutting out the skates, I glued them over the sprigs of mistletoe and then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black. I matted the panel with black and attached it to the white 5.5 x 5.5 cardfront.

Wishing you a blessed Christmas filled with love and peace!!

I have entered this card in the following challenges:

The Library Challenge - Challenge #49 - Anthology (pick a precious book). I was inspired by the cover of Little Women which shows the girls ice skating.

KSS - Christmas Thank You

Well, the Christmas cards are finished and all in the mail! Now it's time to get those Christmas Thank You Cards prepped and ready!

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card is a prototype for the one I plan to send this year. I know I will get at lease one coffee mug because my family knows that I collect them. I pulled out my Christmas mugs (each one of a kind) at Thanksgiving so we could start enjoying them together. Five of us are big coffee drinkers so I have to make at least two pots of coffee when they are all here!

What I usually do is write exactly what was in the gift on the tag. I then tack those to my bulletin board above my computer as a reminder until the Thank You is sent. I have substituted tiny post it notes in this design!!

I used the following Kitchen Sink Stamps' Sets to complete this design:

Holly & Mistletoe Multi Step Clear Stamps

These are the color recipes I used to create this coffee cup. I stamped the holly first.

Holly Color Recipe

Layer 1 Stampin' Up Lemon Lime Twist
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Emerald Enby
Layer 3 - Memento Northern Pine

Berries  Color Recipe

Layer 1 Memento Lady Bug
Layer 2 Memento Love Letter
Layer 3 Memento Elderberry

After masking the leaves and berries, I added the mug on top using this recipe:

Coffee Mug Color Recipe

Layer 1 Memento Lady Bug
Layer  Memento Love Letter
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Lovely Lipstick
Layer 4 Memento Rhubarb Stalk

The sentiment was stamped using Stampin' Up Early Espresso.

Embellishments for this card include the adhesive backed cork board and the silver nailheads.

Quick Gift Card Holder

In today's post sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I am sharing a quick and easy gift card holder I learned from Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator Judy Garza at a recent Stamp a Stack workshop she hosted.

This gift card holder is standard A2 size and therefore fits in an invitation envelope perfect for Christmas gift giving.

The basic construction requires a 4.25 inch by 11 inch piece of colored cardstock and a 3.5 inch by 7 inch piece of white cardstock. The colored cardstock is scored at 2 inches and at 7.5 inches. The white cardstock is scored at .5 inch and at5 inches.

I then attached score tape as shown below and attached the white panel.

This created the popup pocket for the gift card. When closed, the gift card slides down into the bottom flap of the card.

Cozy Christmas - KSS Let's Make a Scene

Who would have thought that this south Texas girl would wake up on Friday morning and look out her window to see the ground and trees covered with snow? It has been 13 years since we have seen snow in my neck of the woods so, of course, it was the inspiration for this week's Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps.
To create this scene I used images from the following KSS sets:

The die cut window is from Poppy Stamps and the lacey punch is by Martha Stewart.

Be sure to check out Maria's latest creation using her amazing stamps:

Splash Watercolor Background for Christmas Florals - KSS

I didn't plan to, but somehow I got caught up in Splitcoaststampers' Falliday Fest and find myself today two cards short of completing all 30 challenges and 7 bonus challenges. For this card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I used today's Try a New Technique Challenge from Splitcoaststampers seen here. The background for this floral Christmas design was created on watercolor paper using Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey Distress Ink. After they had dried, I stamped the spray of roses and greenery on top. I like the rough look of the stamping over the colored watercolor background. I hope you do to!

I finished the card with a die cut sentiment from Sizzix's Home for the Holidays.

Kitchen Sink Stamps used for this design include:

Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps
Holly & Mistletoe Multi Step Clear Stamps
Build a Garland Multi Step Clear Stamps

Now I only have one more card to go!!

Christmas Lights Oh So Bright

All of my Christmas cards went to the post office last week, but I usually receive a few cards from unexpected sources. I am creating these final cards so I won't be caught unprepared. Today I have pulled out Kitchen Sink Stamps' Multi Step Christmas Lights to use in creating these last Christmas cards of the season! It is my all time favorite Christmas set. For these cards I inked only the glass end of the bulbs and not the sockets.

KSS Pre-Thanksgiving Sale

Today is the day! If you are shopping for bargains, head over to the Kitchen Sink Store and receive a 30% savings on in stock Kitchen Sink merchandise. The sale begins today and ends at midnight PST on Tuesday, November 26. Earn free US shipping on orders of $65 or more. Enter THANK30LYNN as the promo code at checkout to receive your discount.

Here are the latest Christmas cards I have added to my stash. I mixed Teddy Bear Wishes Multi Step Clear Stamps with Things 4 Ducky & Teddy Multi Step Clear Stamps to create this one. Don't even ask about that wacky clipped corner! Sometimes Plan B has to work, and I do kind of like it!

This cute little candy cane is a part of the Things 4 Ducky & Teddy Multi Step Clear Stampsset. I stamped the small spring of holly from Holly & Mistletoe Multi Step Clear Stamps, masked it, and then added the cane. These images were stamped on white card stock and the first layer of both the candy cane and the holly were stamped last with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then sponged Memento New Sprout over the entire surface to make the images pop! The sentiment is from Ready 4 Any Holiday Clear Stamps

Happy Shopping!!
