CCEE2009 - Pocket Cards

As Anne's final challenge to the CCEE Stampers for the month of February, she has tasked us with creating pocket cards.  Her instructions were to use any technique to make one.

Well, I have this fun denim pocket image from Deep Red that I felt would make a fun masculine birthday card for a friend. The HEB pull-out gift card will allow him to pick up a six pack of this favorite brew and celebrate BIG!!

The designer paper is from the twilight pack by One Canoe Two and the sentiment is from My Man, My Friend by Picket Fence Studios.

Center Stage for Teddy - KSS

When I saw yesterday that my sweet blog buddy, Shelly Schmidt, had been named Featured Stamper this week at Splitcoaststampers, I knew exactly which card of hers I wanted to recreate for today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design. Shelly did this awesome Valentine for the Technique Lover's Challenge #780 a couple of weeks ago. I fell in love with it and had to give this technique a try.

After watching this wonderful tutorial by Dina Kowal, I was ready to go! I changed the theme to St. Patrick's Day in honor of Shelly's Irish heritage! I thought she would get a kick out of that!

The following Kitchen Sink sets were used to create this design:

Kinda Pawsome - The Project Bin

My card today, sponsored by The Project Bin, features their fun puppy set called Kinda Pawsome. Being I huge fan of dogs, our house has seldom been without one and in some cases two dogs. It is easy to see why I have fallen in love with this awesome set and its many delightful sentiments.

I have paired the dogs and this fun sentiment with some designer paper from A Dog's Tail by Echo Park Paper Co. to create this design. This great set has a die included for each of the dogs which makes cutting them out quick and easy!

It's a brand new month and Anne Harmon is hosting the CCEE Challenges for the month of February.

White embossing is beautiful on neutral colors.  Anne's challenge for the CCEE Stampers is to use white embossing on a card, using Kraft, or any other shade of brown.

In My Heart - The Project Bin

Today's Valentine, sponsored by The Project Bin, was created with their fabulous stamp and die set called In My Heart. It contains a great mix of sweet sentiments that fit beautifully in the heart shaped stamps and die that are included with this set.

Clear stamps with matching dies, card making, paper crafts, rubber stamping, die cutting

To create this design, I cut two pink panels and die cut a scalloped heart in each using my Spellbinders Nestabilities. I then embossed the top pink panel with 3-D hearts by Sizzix. That panel was then popped up on thick dimensionals over the darker pink and black card front.

I then stamped two of the polka dot hearts with Sweet Blush by PaperTrey Ink onto white cardstock. Next I then die cut them out with the included heart die and stamped the sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black. I them sponged the edges of the two sentiment hearts with Memento's Rose Bud ink before gluing them to the card.

Finally, I added the black silk bow and pink paper rose for embellishment.

I really enjoyed creating with this wonderful set which can be used for anniversaries or just to let someone know they are loved!!
