Peony Prayers

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card was created with two of their newest releases: Grand Peony Multi Step Clear Stamps and Watercolor Prayers Multi Step Clear Stamps. It also incorporates a stencil created from their SVG Cut Thin Lattice 6 x 6 Stencil.

I set as a goal for myself to try to share color recipes which do not mix colors from different companies, but when it comes to the purples I needed for today, I have failed. I hope you can forgive me. I have extensive collections of Stampin' Up, Memento, and Altenew inks. For today's peony, I needed to mix in a little Papertrey Ink as well!

Peony Color Recipe:

Layer 5 - Memento Elderberry
Layer 4 - Stampin' Up Gorgeous Grape
Layer 3 - Papertrey Ink Amethyst Allure
Layer 2 - Memento Lulu Lavender stamped 3 times
Layer 1 -Memento Lulu Lavender stamped 2 times

Leaves Color Recipe:

Layer 1 - Stampin' Up Mellow Moss
Layer 2 - Stampin' Up Mossy Meadow
Layer 3 - Stampin' Up Always Artichoke

Watercolor Prayers Color Recipe

Layer 4 - Memento Elderberry

The rest of the sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

The stenciled background was done with Memento Lulu Lavender.

CCEE2026 - National Bald Eagle Day

CCEE Stampers June hostess, Vicky Gould, has informed us that today is National Bald Eagle Day. In honor of that she has asked that the CCEE Stampers make a card with a bird on it....extra credit if it is a Bald Eagle.

Sadly I gave away all my bald eagle stamps to my granddaughter whose college mascot was the eagle so there will be no bonus for me today!

Instead I have crafted my card using Tim Holtz's Bird Crazy and dies. The designer paper is from Passport by Carta Bella. The sentiment is from Natural State of Sarcasm by Picket Fence Studios.

I wonder what birds the rest of the CCEE Stampers have featured?
Check it out here:

Dots of acrylic paint are dropped on the card front panel and then a flat edge is placed down on it and the panel in turned in a circular motion to move the paint around. I used white and gold acrylic paint for my swirl. The stamp set is called Watercolor Prayers Multi Step Clear Stamps, and I think it is going to turn out to be my favorite sentiment set from Kitchen Sink Stamps. It has so many varied uses included with the set.

CCEE2025 - Youth Day

CCEE Stampers June hostess, Vicky Gould, has asked us to celebrate youth  this week by creating a card for a child or for that someone you know who is always "young at heart!"

I am sharing  with you this princess birthday side step card, but can't tell you just yet which "princess" it is going to. Looks like I'll need to make a repair before dropping it in the mail. I see I knocked off one of the jewels while I was photographing the card.

Here are links to the cards created by the other members of the CCEE DT:

Today is also the beginning of quick peeks at the six new sets being released by Kitchen Sink Stamps on Monday, June 22. They are all fabulous, but this one just might be my favorite! So many awesome uses!

CCEE2024 - Father's Day

Father's Day in the USA falls on June 21st this year.  CCEE June hostess Vicky Gould has asked the CCEE Stampers to make a Father's Day card.  She said that if your father has gone to his heavenly reward, make a masculine card of any type for any man in your life...son, grandson, nephew, boyfriend, etc.

In addition to the CCEE Father's Day Challenge, this card is also for the Alphabet Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. For this week, the letter is K. On my card the K is represented by kind, kin, kid, and kraft cardstock.

See the great Father's Day and masculine cards designed by the CCEE DT!

Flip Card - Save the Date - KSS

This Save the Date card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps again features the newly released Old World Door Multi Step Clear Stamps and Potted Topiaries Multi Step Clear Stamps. I keep finding new ways to use it. How  perfect it is for this flip card which allows you to go behind the door for a garden wedding.

To create the background for the card, I first used the Crinkled Chalk Technique (although I used Distress Oxide Ink instead) to dab on the grass and sky using some wadded up plastic wrap. I then attached a 1 inch by 8.5 inch strip of brick wall that I had stamped using Tree Friends Multi Step Clear Stamps. The door, the topiaries, and the flowers were stamped on separate panels and cut out for mounting to the card so that the door hid the inside of this simple flip card design.

The Save the Date sentiment is from Make a Big Statement Clear Stamps while the rest of the date was computer generated.

CCEE2023 - The Rose

June CCEE Hostess Vicky Gould has this week's CCEE Challenge focus on the June Birth Month Flower: The Rose. Symbolically, the rose has more meanings than one can count!

• A pink rose means perfect happiness, while a red rose means “I love you.”
• A white rose signifies innocence, purity, and new beginnings.
• A yellow rose conveys jealousy!

A bouquet of roses means sincere gratitude, whereas a single rose amplifies the meaning of the color (a single red rose means “I REALLY love you”). Today the CCEE Stampers were to make a card with a single rose or a bouquet of roses.

I ended up with one lavender rose. The rose is a digital stamp from Power Poppy. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions. The bulldog clip die is from Karen Burniston while the designer paper is from BasicGrey.

For more beautiful roses, check out the cards of the CCEE DT Members see below:

Gratitude and Grief - KSS

This past week has been one of gratitude and grief for me. I have been so blessed by the love and generosity of friends during this time of isolation. A thank you at the front door when they drop off a bowl of homemade ice cream or on the phone when they connect me with the perfect person to clean my gutters before the rain is just not enough. So the first of today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored designs is one of the thank you cards going out to these lovely people.

It was created using the newly released set Old World Door Multi Step Clear Stamps with a little help from Potted Topiaries Multi Step Clear Stamps (pot) and Coffee Mate Greetings Clear Stamps (thanks). I turned the door into a window by cutting out sections of the door and adding a bit of brick below the windowsill. An inside peek shows some of the climbing roses in a pot on the kitchen table.

She and I both live on the Texas Gulf Coast so I have created this masculine design using Lighthouse Multi Step Clear Stamps, Seaside Seagull Multi Step Clear Stamps, Shoreline Rocks Multi Step Clear Stamps, and Isle of Big Bay Lake Multi Step Clear Stamps.
