Slimline Daisy Thanks - Kitchen Sink Stamps

After a wonderful weekend of celebrating Mother's Day with my family, I find myself in need of several Thank You cards. Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design is one of those cards!

The background was created with their newly released SVG cut file, Herringbone Slimline Stencil. I first inked the entire panel with Distress Oxide Ink in scattered straw. I then brushed on the herringbone with DO ripe persimmon. The splatters were created with abandoned coral Distress Spray Stain.

The stamped images come from KSS Daisy and Watercolor Thanks.

The daisies, leaves, and thanks were cut with the SVG cut files which are available for free if you put them in your cart when you order these stamps sets. Purchasing them at a later day is still at bargain at 99¢.

True Blue Friends - KSS

I drove 10 miles north from my house into DeWitt county to photograph this beautiful field of bluebonnets. I was so excited to find them this far south while out scouting for Texas wildflowers last week. Most of the huge expanses of bluebonnets are found farther north than we are located. If you look closely, you will spot one tiny patch of Indian paintbrushes as well!

For today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design, I have created a bluebonnet card using images from the following KSS sets:

Color Recipe for the Bluebonnets

Layer 2 PTI Spring Rain
Layer 3 SU Baja Breeze
Layer 4 Memento Teal Zeal
Layer 1 SU Barely Banana on tips of flowers only

Recipe for Leaves and Stems

Layer 1 SU Lemon Lime Twist
Layer 2 SU Old Olive
Layer 3 SU Mossy Meadow

Color Recipe for the Coffee Mug

Layer 4 SU Pool Party stamped 4 times
Layer 3 SU Pool Party stamped 2 times
Layer 2 SU Pool Party stamped 2 times
Layer 1 SU Pool Party stamped once

I added a panel of woodgrain designer paper across the bottom for the mug to sit on and stenciled some pale yellow polka dots in the background. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I am entering today's card in the following challenges:

Scraps and Daisies

Today I pulled out my designer paper scraps to create some scrap cards featuring the gerbera daisy found in Kitchen Sink Stamps' Honey Bunny Multi Step Clear Stamps. I am seeing these beautiful flowers at Walmart and Lowe's this week and they sure are tempting me to snap some up and plant them in my front yard garden.

KSS 10 Minute Design #111

To create today's fun cards, I took a 4.25 x 5.5 inch panel of designer paper and cut it in half diagonally. I then flipped the pieces over and used a tiny piece of tape to hold the two halves together so I could cut it in half again from the opposite corners. This resulted in 4 panels of designer paper which I used to design two cards. The two opposite panels of designer paper were attached to a colored card front.

To complete each card, I stamped my Kitchen Sink Stamps images on a square of white card stock, added a colored mat, and mounted it on the diagonal in the center of the card.

KSS Ten Minute Monday

Another Monday has rolled around so that means it's time for a new Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 minute design. Today I have created a one layer design which allows the beautiful long-stemmed flowers to have center stage all to themselves. I cheated a little with the sunflower, hydrangea, and daisy by using the stem from Lilacs Multi Step Clear Stamps to get the height I wanted. It works for me!

After stamping the blossoms, I scored a 3/4 inch bar across the bottom of the card front from side to side jumping over the stems. I then masked that section and sponged a little color above and below it to make the added sentiment pop.

If you are inspired to use this design with your Kitchen Sink Stamps, please share your creation with our Kitchen Sink fans in the KSS Gallery and include keyword 10MC71.

KSS 10 Minute Monday - Scattered Inchies

For today's KSS 10 minute challenge, I stamped Kitchen Sink images on three inchies and a KSS sentiment on another. I then matted the inchies and scattered them across my card front. The sentiment inchie was added last and popped up on dimensionals. The outside inchies were hanging off the sides of the card until I whacked them one last time with the papercutter! Should you like to share your card in the Kitchen Sink Gallery, the keyword of the week is 10MC56.

Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 Minute Card Challenge 22

On a usual Kitchen Sink Monday I will post 4 samples for the weekly 10 Minute Card Challenge. There is a reason I post 4 samples instead of 1 - guilt! The rest of the members of the Kitchen Sink Crew each post a beautiful creation they have spent a lot of time designing and executing while I am posting a card that takes ten minutes to build! It just doesn't seem right to me! Since it normally takes me an average of 40 minutes to create a pretty layered card with embellishments, I make four 10 minute cards. Seems only fair to me!

Well, today when I got started on 10 Minute Card Challenge #22, I was having so much fun sorting through my designer paper scraps and matching them to my Kitchen Sink Stamps that I just couldn't stop! So this week you are getting 7 samples!!

For the challenge I cut three squares of designer paper (1.75 inches square) for each card. I then glued them to the card front in a windowpane pattern and stamped a Kitchen Sink image in the place where the fourth windowpane would be. I finished each card with a fun sentiment! I hope this will be something you find useful for creating quick and simple cards with your KSS images. If you would like to share your card for the challenge in the Kitchen Sink Gallery, be sure to include keyword 10MC22.
