CCEE1944 - Halloween or Harvest

For her last challenge as hostess for the CCEE Stampers for the month of October Kelly says, "Let's keep it simple and create a card with anything Halloween OR Harvest -- costumes, candies, spooky things, or just use orange and black!"

The die cut sentiment is by Tonic while the stamped images are from Zombies by Hampton Art.

SCS Sketch Challenge 773

Since the beginning of October, I have been helping to supply samples for the lovely ladies who make up the Design Team for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge. Here is a link to this week's challenge: SC773.

For this week's sketch I decided I wanted to do a holiday scene card and include all three of the circles in the scene. To accomplish this, I stamped two copies of the same exact scene using my stamp positioner. I then die cut the larger center circle from one and the two smaller circles from the other. This made lining them up a breeze.

The images are from Snow Front from the holiday mini by Stampin' Up. The sentiment is by Verve. I mounted them on a panel embossed with a 3-D embossing plate by Sizzix.

Sending a Cup of Christmas Cheer

I have been working for weeks on some table toppers and name tags for a church event which all featured these tiny hands by Impression Obsession. I still have tiny hands scattered everywhere, and I felt they would look adorable presenting this cup of coffee from Kitchen Sink Stamps' new Coffee & Friends set. So my Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card today included them as well as words from Coffee Mate Greetings and Christmas from the Limited Edition Gingerbread Hugs which sold out at Simon Says during their STAMPtember Event.

CCEE1942 - National Fossil Day

According to Kelly, yesterday was National Fossil Day. A fossil is a preserved impression of a once-living thing from a past geological age, including plants, animals, shells, and more.
Her challenge to the CCEE Stampers is to create a card including anything that has been found as a fossil -- dinosaurs, leaves, amber, footprints, etc.

Paper: BasicGrey
Sentiment: Word Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers
Car Die by Sizzix
Ink for exhaust: Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide by Ranger

Let's see how everyone else celebrated fossil day!

I'm Caffeinated - KSS

When I saw this week's Clean and Simple Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers, I knew that I would be reaching for my Keep Calm Coffee Mug to create today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card. The challenge is called "Drama" and at my house I am always careful to avoid drama by making sure the coffee pot is the first one "awake" and perking at my house!

When I suggested this set to Maria, I knew it would be one of my favorites because:
1) Coffee is my favorite beverage!
2) Most of my friends love coffee!
3) I could dress the cup up or down depending on the need or season

Thanks, Maria, for creating this fabulous set. I keep an assortment of colored mugs stamped and ready to go at all times, and I reach for them often!!

Here are a couple of tips I want to share about working with the mug. Because of its large size, I need to use full-sized pads to get the ink smooth. I also ink each layer with Versamark before adding the colored ink. Here is the last thing that I have discovered with the mug. Mine have always come out best when I stamp every single layer in the same exact color. I start with layer 4 and work backwards. This mug was stamped with Stampin' Up Creamy Caramel. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle and the rings and blops of coffee were made with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy.
