Let's Make a Graduation Scene! - KSS

In two short weeks my youngest granddaughter will be graduating from high school with honors. Last week I finished party invitations for her, and today I am using my Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps to create a special graduation card for her very special day. She is a crafter like her gram so I know she will appreciate it.

For this scene, I started with the bowl of carnations and stamped them directly on the wallpaper background. I colored the water with Copic Marker B0000. The cap and diploma were stamped on white cardstock, cut out, and glued to the cardfront along with the table and hatrack.

Eyelets, Ribbon, Paper...Oh, My! - Challenge #4

I created today's Kitchen Sink card for Eyelets, Ribbon, Paper...Oh, My! Challenge #4 sponsored by Dawn. She said, "Design a card with a relatively plain front, a cut out window, and the stamping on the INSIDE!" Sounded like fun so that's what I did!

I used my computer to generate the background paper for my card front and 3 Circle Nestabilites to create my window.

I then stamped my graduation greeting and mortar board on the inside of the card leaving enough room at the bottom for a personal message!

Stamps: Graduation Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps
Papers: Basic Black and Real Red by Stampin' Up, White Georgia Pacific Cardstock
Inks: Memento Lady Bug, Rhubarb Stalk, and Tuxedo Black
Tools: Circle Nestabilities
Embellishment: Ribbon

Coming soon the Crew will be sharing sneak peeks at the new Kitchen Sink Stamps being released this month! Meanwhile, check out what they have stamped for you today!!

Don't forget that you still have plenty of time to join us in Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge #25. Three lucky entries will be winning gift certificates to spend in the Kitchen!

Embossed Wax Paper Resist

Today's Technique Challenge at Splitcoaststampers gave me a chance to add another card to the Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge today! The background was created by running a sheet of wax paper through the Cuttlebug using the Congratulations embossing folder. The paper was then ironed onto a sheet of glossy white paper and brayed with Real Red ink by Stampin' Up.

I stamped the mortar board with Basic Gray and Memento Tuxedo Black. The tassel was created by wrapping black DMC floss around a fork and knotting. I cut out the hat, wrapped the end of the tassel around a brad in the center of the hat, and attached it to the card front with dimensionals.

Graduation Invitation

I love this little set from Kitchen Sink! I used it to create a personalized invitation using Sam's school colors and initials.

Gate folds are so easy now that I have my Scor-Pal. Before SP, I could never get them to come out straight!! The Nestabilities circles are glued only on the left so the card opens to share all the important facts! The initials and Class of 2009 were stamped with Black Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

The mortar board was stamped as follows:

1st layer - Basic Gray stamped off once
2nd layer - Basic Gray
3rd layer - Versafine Onyx Black

Tassel

1st layer - Real Read Stamped off once
2nd layer - Real Red

Sam - Real Red
