Thinking About Christmas

Good morning, and thanks for dropping by today!

I usually have a good start on my Christmas cards for the holiday season by this time, but I only have a handful of cards ready for this year. In my family, we have a couple of holiday traditions which take up most of my crafting time in December. I won't go into detail about that today, but between the two projects it means about 78 scrapbook pages for me to complete. If I don't have Christmas cards finished and addressed by Thanksgiving, I will be up a creek without a paddle.

So today for Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes more designs I have created Christmas cards using Gift Multi Step Clear Stamps. It is a great set for birthday cards and Christmas cards, as well. Now I only need about 50 more Christmas cards!

10 Minute Card

Papers : Pure Luxury White by Gina K. Designs, Martha Stewart Snowflake Mat Pad
Inks: Memento Angel Pink, Love Letter, and Rhubarb Stalk

10 Minutes More Card

For this card I stamped the bow a second time, cut it out, and popped it up on top of the package. I also added a fleur de lis frame and a pretty jewel to dress up the package.

KSS 10 Minute Design #111

To create today's fun cards, I took a 4.25 x 5.5 inch panel of designer paper and cut it in half diagonally. I then flipped the pieces over and used a tiny piece of tape to hold the two halves together so I could cut it in half again from the opposite corners. This resulted in 4 panels of designer paper which I used to design two cards. The two opposite panels of designer paper were attached to a colored card front.

To complete each card, I stamped my Kitchen Sink Stamps images on a square of white card stock, added a colored mat, and mounted it on the diagonal in the center of the card.

10 Minute Gift Card Holders for the Tree

Many of my family members prefer gift cards or cash for Christmas so this year I have hung them on my tree. These Kitchen Sink 10 minute cash and gift card holders are made with two pieces of card stock held together tightly with two brads so that the card or cash can be slipped in. Glad these are so easy to make since I have quite a few to create.

One Color Card Stock and Ink + White

For Kitchen Sink 10 Minute Card #61 I have used one sheet of colored card stock and the ink pad that matches it along with a little white card stock. Often people will contact me about layered stamping saying they don't have a wide range of ink pads or colors that blend well together. I designed today's challenge to demonstrate that depth and color coordination can be created with only one color. You don't have to have tons of ink to get beautiful results.

Pull out your Kitchen Sink images to give it a try and share your results with us in the Kitchen Sink Stamps Gallery.

KSS 10 Minute Card Challenge #30

For today's ten minute card, I designed a small (3.5 x 5.5) card which uses two 1.5 inch squares of designer paper from the scrap pile. I rounded two opposite corners of each DP square and added a Kitchen Sink image and sentiment to the card front to complete each card.

For those playing along and posting your card to the Kitchen Sink Gallery, include keyword 10MC30 with your entry.

Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 Minute Card Challenge 22

On a usual Kitchen Sink Monday I will post 4 samples for the weekly 10 Minute Card Challenge. There is a reason I post 4 samples instead of 1 - guilt! The rest of the members of the Kitchen Sink Crew each post a beautiful creation they have spent a lot of time designing and executing while I am posting a card that takes ten minutes to build! It just doesn't seem right to me! Since it normally takes me an average of 40 minutes to create a pretty layered card with embellishments, I make four 10 minute cards. Seems only fair to me!

Well, today when I got started on 10 Minute Card Challenge #22, I was having so much fun sorting through my designer paper scraps and matching them to my Kitchen Sink Stamps that I just couldn't stop! So this week you are getting 7 samples!!

For the challenge I cut three squares of designer paper (1.75 inches square) for each card. I then glued them to the card front in a windowpane pattern and stamped a Kitchen Sink image in the place where the fourth windowpane would be. I finished each card with a fun sentiment! I hope this will be something you find useful for creating quick and simple cards with your KSS images. If you would like to share your card for the challenge in the Kitchen Sink Gallery, be sure to include keyword 10MC22.

Kitchen Sink Monday

I found time today  to create a few cards for the challenges over at Kitchen Sink Stamps. Each member of the design team hosts a challenge each week in the forums.

On Mondays I host the 10 Minute Card Challenge.
On Tuesdays Makiko hosts the Kitchen Pantry Challenge in which she chooses an ingredient or tool to be used in the challenge.
On Wednesdays Lisa hosts the Stock Up on Occasions Challenge where one occasion is the focus of the week.
On Thursdays Julie hosts the Word of the Week Challenge where inspiration for the projects is to come from the word selected for the week.
On Fridays Connie hosts the Sketch Carte Challenge.
On Saturdays Maria hosts the Case the Crew Challenge.
On Sundays Angela hosts the Everything Plus the Kitchen Sink Challenge which has something new and unique every week.

This first challenge card I am sharing with you above was created for Connie's Sketch Carte Challenge. I had a lot fun with this great layout! It allowed me to mix this beautiful paper from my "owl pal, Christy" with my beloved KSS roses!!

This next bunch of cards were created for my 10 Minute Challenge. The challenge this week is to select one color (the same for the paper and the ink) and one neutral color paper for the creation of your 10 minute card.

This first 10 minute card used Julie's Word of the Week as the inspiration. Her word this week was BOLD! No one is bolder or braver than our service men and women. This card is going to a group collecting cards for them.

A Year of Thanks II - Kitchen Sink Stamps

This Shipping Tag Gift Box was created for Technique Challenge 250 on Splitcoaststampers today, but I added it here as well since it also fits for the December Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge. Lynn in St. Louis has included an easy to follow tutorial by Debbie Fisher! The felt reindeer is backed by the large pine tree from  Pine Trees Multi Step Clear Stamps and the sentiment is from Gift Multi Step Clear Stamps.

Today Maria is hosting Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge 20. With the gift giving season snapping at our heels, we were to Wrap It, Bag It, or Tag It using Kitchen Sink Stamps!!

With Kitchen Sink releasing its 2009 Special Limited Edition set entitled A Year of Thanks II, I decided to use it to create my tag for the challenge as well as a thank you gift for someone who has worked closely with me throughout this year.

This wonderful set includes a thank you stamp for each month of the year as well as a full-size beautiful Lily of the Valley all bundled up in a sweet round tin!

I love these delightful images! There is one that is perfect for every season of the year!!

I bundled my 12 cards in tulle, tied them with a bow, and popped them in this cute tin! Hope you like it!
