Coffee, Please! - KSS

I am starting today exactly the way I start every morning, by putting on a pot of my favorite coffee! I guess you could say it is an obsession. I can't start my day without it!

CCEE1837 - Baby

 CCEE September hostess, Maryann Einam, has asked the CCEE Stampers to this week create a card using BABY as the inspiration. She says it can be for a card to welcome a new baby, an invitation to a baby shower, or a congratulations card to a friend for a grand baby. It could just be a card that features baby animals or maybe just be a baby-sized card.

My need was for a card for a new baby girl. I used the Stitched Circle Plate by Gina Marie Designs to create the framing of sweet baby stickers I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The sentiment from Kitchen Sink Stamps was stamped in Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink.

The technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers really peaked my interest today. It is called "It's a BANNER Day!" and required that participants include a hand-drawn banner on their design. KSS 10 Minute Design 74 - Fun with Corner Punches

For this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 minute design, I did a little playing around with my corner punches. The card size is 4.5 x 4.5 inches while the punched panel is 4 inches square. Instead of punching the corners, I punched in the center of each edge which resulted in a fun frame for my stamped images.

KSS Ten Minute Challenge - Two Twinchies and a Turn-the-Corner Sentiment

It's great to see you again this Monday! Thanks so much for dropping by!

The layout for this week's Kitchen Sink 10 Minute Card Challenge was created with two twinchies. A Kitchen Sink image is stamped on one and a Kitchen Sink sentiment on the other.  The sentiment is stamped on two sides of the second  twinchie so it turns a corner. I then mounted the image twinchie offset on top of the sentiment twinchie and attached them both to the colored card front.

New Year's Resolutions

Today begins the second year of 10 Minute Card Challenges at Kitchen Sink Stamps! Can you believe it?

This week I am challenging you to use your 10 minutes and your Kitchen Sink Stamps to share with us some of your New Year's Resolutions. The keyword for those adding their project to the Kitchen Sink Gallery is 10MC53.

I have chosen to create some refrigerator magnets to help me keep my resolutions front and center each time I open the refrigerator. I plan to make better choices about what I eat as well as get more active with my walking and exercising. I got a Wii and Wii Fit Plus from Santa so I can have a little fun as I try to keep on track with my resolutions.

 I used my computer to print my resolutions and my circle Nestabilities to cut out my layers. A strip magnet was attached to the back of each resolution.

KSS 10 Minute Monday

 As you can see above, I started each of today's ten minute cards by cutting two slits in my card front which were 1/2 centimeter larger than my stamped and matted panel. After stamping my Kitchen Sink image panels, I matted them and wove them through the slits and stamped my sentiment on the bridge created over the top of the panel. Quick, easy, and fun!

Kitchen Sink Stamps - 10 Minute Monday Challenge

To create these picture window cards, I first stamped my images directly on the card front. I then cut a picture window out of the center of a 3.75 x 5 inch piece of coordinating card stock and stamped on a sentiment. After attaching dimensionals at the back corners, I centered this piece over the image and stuck it to the card front. It's hard to tell in the photos, but they look really cute popped up off the card. They are also quick and easy!

KSS Project of the Month - CD Spinner Card

If you are anything like me, you probably have accumulated an assortment of CDs over the years that you no longer want or use. Well today's project is a fun way to recycle them into spinning cards for the special people in your life. I created two samples for you today. One as a welcome card for a new baby, and one to welcome students back to school. CD spinner cards can, of course, be made for any and all occasions!

I cut a cardstock circle just slightly smaller than the CD so that the mirrored surface would sparkle and shine around the edge as the CD turns. I then cut the designer paper circle a quarter of an inch smaller. I used Kitchen Sink's Baby Multi Step Clear Stamps to create the images and sentiment on this spinner card.

For the front of the spinner card, I stamped the baby shoes and sentiment on white cardstock and then cut them out with oval Nestabilities. I added Primas with jeweled brad centers and a sweet satin bow.

On the back I placed the baby's name, birthday, and weight which I printed on my computer. I stamped and cut out the blocks and silver mug from Baby Multi Step Clear Stamps .

After all the parts were cut out and glued to the CD, I used my Crop-a-dile to punch a hole in the CD. I then attached a clear, stretchy cord from which to hang the spinner card!! I absolutely love the way that it is constantly turning and catching the light! It never stops moving and sending a rainbow of color dancing around the rim!
