CCEE2117 - Super Heroes

CCEE Stampers April hostess, Frances Byrne, informs us that yesterday, April 28, was Superhero Day. She has requested that the CCEE Stampers include a superhero or two on our cards this week. (Interpret Superhero, any way you like).

There are super heroes everywhere we look these days. So many have given so much of themselves during these times.

My card is focused on the men and women who serve our country in military service for us all. They have my utmost respect and sincere thanks as do all who have battled on the front lines to help us through this time of Covid. They number in the millions.

The stamped images on this card are from the layered set Military Boots by Gina Marie Designs. The die cut soldier is also from Gina Marie. The designer paper is by the Paper Studio.

Another Fun Pop-Out for Mother's Day - Kitchen Sink Stamps

For this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design, I want to share another fun and easy pop out card which I created for Mother's Day using images from Spring Daffodils and sentiments from Whole Family, Words 4 Celebrating, and Bold Holiday Greetings.

This is is front of the card which looks just like a standard A2 card.

But open it up and here is what you see! A delightful surprise, don't you think?

The pop-out was created from a 6" x 6" square scored at 3 inches in both directions. It was then scored across the panel diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner. Easy peasy.

The triangle panels are pulled up to the center with a mountain fold and folded closed before creasing with a bone folder. Glue goes on the back for the 3 inch squares and the folded piece in inserted up to the crease of the card front. I decorated the triangle panels with Graphic 45 designer paper from the Artisan Style Collection. The doilies are from Stampin' Up.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Sunday Stamps - SSC255 - Spring Blooms

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog - Challenge #156 - Anything Goes

613 Avenue Create - April 2021 Challenge #4 - Anything Goes Option In the Garden

CCEE2116 - Tea or Coffee?

Frances Byrne, our April CCEE hostess is back today with another fun challenge for all you CCEE Stampers. Apparently the 21st of  April was Tea Day. With that in mind, Frances has asked that we create a card that features tea or coffee.

My card features a fun image from the Unity set Coffee Helps. The coffee designer paper is also from Unity while the zany sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps.

Who chose tea and who chose coffee? Let's check it out!

Spring Nest - Kitchen Sink Stamps

This weekend I have been having fun outdoors enjoying the beautiful spring weather here in Texas and watching the birds in my neighborhood. Naturally that led me to gravitate toward the new KSS set, Spring Nest for my Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored designs today!

My first card in a Mother's Day slimline design which features both Spring Nest, as well as Build a Pine Branch, with a sentiment which uses images from Bold Holiday Greetings and Whole Family. The clouds were created using the KSS SVG cut file Cloudy Skies. The nest was also cut on my Cricut Joy with the Spring Nest SVG cut file and popped up on dimensionals over the stamped pine branch

This second card uses the cut out Spring Nest again with a tag using Love from Love Letters and a variety of dies from Sizzix. The background embossing folder is by Stampin' Up.

I have entered this second card at  A Place to Start in Challenge #4 - Make It Elegant.

CCEE 2115 - Look Up at the Sky

Apparently yesterday was "Look up at the Sky Day" so for our CCEE Stampers Challenge this week our hostess for April, Frances Byrne, has asked us to include a sky of some type  on our cards.

I used two of my favorite stamps to create this clean and simple one layer design. The moon was stenciled on with Distress Oxide Scattered Straw. The dancing couple from Gina Marie Designs and the sentiment from Rubbernecker were stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne.

Mother's Day Pop & Twist Card - Kitchen Sink Stamps

I have been wanting to make a pop and twist card for a while now, but I always felt that they were too complicated. This weekend however, I watched this YouTube tutorial at Maymay Made It and learned her simple version to created the pop and twist mechanism for any size card. Maymay's directions are so awesome! Take the time to watch, and I think you will want to give it a try, too!

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design is a Mother's Day Card using Maymay's Pop and Twist instructions paired with KSS images from Sweetheart Daisies, Fresh as a Daisy, and Bold Holiday Greetings. I also used the SVG cut files which go with these sets.

I chose to made a standard A2 card and the strip I cut for the inside mechanism was 10 inches by 2 inches.

Here is the front of the card:

Here is the inside of the pop and twist:

The designer paper is by Heidi Grace Designs for Colorbok.

I really love this color mix on the daisies so I am sharing that recipe with you, as well, today!

CCEE2114 - Zoo Keepers Day

Apparently today is Zoo Lovers Day. For that reason, CCEE Stampers April hostess, Frances Byrne has asked us to create a card that includes at least one animal you might find in a zoo.

Since sloths are popular in my family, I chose to use this one from Artistic Impressions and framed it with a leafy embossed frame. The double stitched frame for the sentiment is by Rubbernecker.

What kind of critters will we find on the CCEE DT cards? Let's find out!

Spring Birthday

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design features images from two of the new sets which were released last week: Water Lilies and Bold Holiday Greetings (happy), For the water, I pulled out the lake from Cabin by the Lake. The sky was created using the Cloudy Skies SVG cut stencil while Birthday came for Whole Family.

If you are used to visiting my blog on Mondays to see my Kitchen Sink Stamps creations, you may have missed seeing these two I shared this weekend.

To create this card, in addition to the stamps, I used the SVG cut file for the frog, lily pad, and water lily which come free with your purchase of Water Lilies if you add it to your cart at the time of purchase. You can also purchase it later for 99¢.

If you haven't gotten into the electric cutting machine craze, I must tell you it is so awesome. No more fussy cutting. I purchased my Cricut Joy (their smallest machine because I only make cards) almost a year ago, and it has changed the way I stamp. You know how I love to create scenes! Well, with the ability to cut out my shapes to stamp on, it takes so much less time to build a scene when I don't have to do all that masking.

I thought I would show you today how I organize my cut pieces so that card-making is fast and fun! I currently have 4 photo albums which I use: Animals, Plants, Objects, and Words. I then place my cut and/or pre-stamped pieces in alphabetical order in the albums so they are ready to grab and go when I decide to make a card.

Here is a peek at my KSS Object album:

See what I mean about "ready to go!" What fun! With the use of my MISTI stamping platform, I can have a dozen of whatever ready to go in minutes! I keep a black jig cut from heavy weight card stock in the back cover of the DVD case of each stamp set so I am "good to go" each time I want to stamps images.

I hope you have found some inspiration either in stamping or organizing and will return to visit again! I am always thrilled by your visit!

I am entering this card in the following challenges this week:

Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple Challenge 632 - Flower Power

SCS Free 4 All and Inspiration

Here are a couple of cards I created for challenges at Splitcoaststampers this week.

This first one was for the Free 4 All Challenge which required heat embossing. I embossed the word Easter in the sentiment and popped it up on dimensionals. This sentiment is from Bold Holiday Greetings which was released by Kitchen Sink Stamps just this past Monday. Other KSS sets used are All Year Grapevine Wreath and Hey, Chick!

This second card was inspired by art painted on birds feathers found on Design Stack. It features Minnesota Loon which is no longer available at KSS. I stamped the water using Cabin by the Lake and the clouds were created using the SVG cut file Cloudy Skies and white acrylic paint. The feather was cut using Cricut Design Space and the Aspin Tree Stencil is from The Crafters Workshop.

Thanks for visiting today!!
