Flip Flap Interactive Card

I have been busy working on some samples for some new Kitchen Sink Stamps sets coming out in the next few weeks, so I didn't get today's card designed until TODAY! I hate when that happens, but sometimes it does!

And when it does, I usually check in at Splitcoaststampers to see what kind of challenges they have posted for the day. The Clean and Simple Challenge was to create a card with candles. That didn't appeal to me so I moved on to the Try a New Technique Challenge. Sabrina Friel, the hostess for this challenge, asked participants to create a Flip Flap Card. Well, I don't usually go in for fancy folds as they require too much precision and fiddling around to get them to work properly. After reading the SCS tutorial by Beth Rush and watching her YouTube video twice, I decided to give it a go.

So here are two views of today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card:

Here are the results of my efforts:

National Catfish Day

After discovering that June 25th is National Catfish Day, Lois Bak (our June CCEE Challenge Hostess) has asked that the CCEE Stampers create a card that has some kind of fish or sea life on it.

I don't have a catfish in my collection, but I do have a bass!

Want to see what sea creatures there rest of the CCEE DT featured?

Summer's End at Salty Kisses

Today's Let's Make a Scene card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps was inspired by a long gone burger joint at Quintana Beach in Brazoria County called Jeff's at the Jetties. My husband and I would love to go there just before sunset with friends to enjoy the beauty of the beach as well as the fabulous burgers, adult beverages, and hours of adult conversation! We closed that place down many a warm summer night.

So for my card today, I have stamped a palopa roofed cabana which I named Salty Kisses in the foreground and the sunset in the back.

Here are the sets I used to construct this design:

Palm Trees Multi-Step Clear Stamps
Ocean Waters Multi-Step Clear Stamps
Deep Sea Marlin Multi-Step Clear Stamps
Sail Boats Multi-Step Clear Stamps
Honey Bunny Multi-Step Clear Stamps

The seagulls are die cuts from Seagulls on Piling by Memory Box.

I have entered today's  card in Challenge 75 "Create a Scene" at Always Fun Challenges.

Summer Home - KSS - Let's Make a Scene

I must apologize in advance! I know this is not the second or fourth Monday when I always post Let's Make a Scene designs sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, but this card has been haunting me in my dreams, and I could not force myself to save it for next week! I love it too much!! It also fits perfectly in International Art & Soul's current challenge - #40 Marine, Ocean or Sea.

Even though I only spend a few days renting a condo on the beach each year, I always love every minute of it. This year the temperatures were in the freezing range when I was there in December, but I loved it just the same!

The places I have rented are always decked out to the nth degree in sea creatures and images of every nautical kind. I knew the Deep Sea Marlin Multi Step Clear Stamps would be a perfect fit for this seaside cabin.  I mounted the small marlin on a wood plank oval and make a Salty Kisses plaque out of the sentiment. Outside the window is a sailboat headed in to dock for the night.

I love making inside-the-house-looking-out scenes. You may remember this one I made for my daughter-in-law for Mother's Day and this one I made for a dog-loving friend's winter birthday.

The designer paper I used for wallpaper for today's nautical design is from Ahoy There by Alisha Gordon & Kasie Fry for Carta Bella.

Kitchen Sink Stamps Used for this Scene Include:

Baseball Multi Step Clear Stamps (wooden oval for the marlin)

Color Recipe for the Marlin

Layer 5 - Memento Danube Blue
Layer 4 - PTI Hawaiian Shores
Layer 3 - SU Going Gray on belly side only stamped 3 times
Layer 2 - SU Going Gray on belly side only
Layer 1 - PTI Soft Stone with SU Pineapple on the belly

The window die is by Poppy Stamps

Maria and Jeanne each have wonderful Kitchen Sink Stamps creations to share with you today. Don't miss a chance to see what delights they have designed.

What's Cooking in the Kitchen?

Today is a big day for Kitchen Sink Stamps with 4 brand new sets being released. Two of the sets are ocean related: Ocean Waters Multi Step Clear Stamps and Deep Sea Marlin Multi Step Clear Stamps.  The other two may just inspire you to get started on your holiday cards. They are Figure Skates Multi Step Clear Stamps and Big & Bold Christmas Greetings Clear Stamps.

And, of course, it is the second Monday which means I had the opportunity to work one of them into this week's Let's Make a Scene design. I think it makes the perfect January birthday card for my "way up north" friend.

Color Recipe for the Tiny Norway Pine:

The card front was embossed with snowflakes and die cut snowflakes were glittered and layered as embellishments.

A die cut sand dollar, starfish, and seaweed sprigs were added as embellishments on the fish net which was stamped in Stampin' Up Baked Brown Sugar.

I am ending today's preview of the new stamp sets with this clean and simple one layer Christmas card which was made with Big & Bold Christmas Greetings Clear Stamps, Build a Garland Multi Step Clear Stamps, and Christmas Lights Multi Step Clear Stamps.

I have entered this card in the challenge at Sweet Stampin' - Christmas in August.
