Let's Make a Scene - Winter Birthday KSS

I'm getting a little bit of a late start in posting my Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps this morning, but today is a very amazing day for a dear friend and her family so I wanted to create something very special. My sweet friend is celebrating  her 107th birthday today! What a remarkable feat! She is not accepting gifts at her party this afternoon and actually had her family pass out 107 red roses to our church members yesterday. It is just like her to always think of others first!

With much of our nation blanketed in snow this week, I decided to make a winter theme. I can image that in her youth, Lucile may have had the pleasure of riding in a horse-drawn sleigh through the snow! I will ask her this afternoon at her party!

The frame is popped up over the stamped background and the snowman is popped up on the frame. I crocheted a scarf to add a little fun texture to the design! The sentiment is die cut and angled across the frame.

Kitchen Sink Stamps used include:

Tiny Norway Pine Multi Step Clear Stamps

Welcome Home Cowboy - KSS Let's Make a Scene

Today's Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps was made with a friend in mind who will soon be returning to his county home after an extended hospital stay followed by several weeks in rehabilitation. Being a down-home Texas boy, I think he will love it. Although the bluebonnets are quickly fading away for this year, I wanted to include them in his welcome home card. I created them with the tip of a stylus using Distress Oxide Ink and white paint.

To create this scene, I used images from the following Kitchen Sink Stamps Sets:

Cabin by the Lake Multi Step Clear Stamps
Trees Multi Step Clear Stamps
Tree Friends Multi Step Clear Stamps
and assorted sentiments

Color Recipe for the Cabin

Layer 4 Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Baked Brown Sugar
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Creamy Caramel
Layer 1 Memento Desert Sand

The return of spring means the return of baseball to our local parks! I am a huge baseball fan from way back so I will be spending some of my afternoons at the ballpark, popcorn in hand, cheering on our UHV Jaguars!

For today's Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I have created a baseball themed birthday card! The images are from Baseball Multi Step Clear Stamps, Classic Old Truck Multi Step Clear Stamps, and Birch Trees Multi Step Clear Stamps. The die cut fence is by Spellbinders.

Autumn View - LMS - KSS

I had so much fun creating this week's Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps using all these rich, beautiful colors of autumn. Although we have had a cool breeze or two through here is the past few weeks, I am still anxiously awaiting the first true Texas Norther! I am so ready for sweater weather!!

To create my window on autumn I have used images from the following Kitchen Sink Stamps sets:

The chair was created with a die by Impression Obsession.
The grass tuft was created with a die from Gina Marie Designs.

Texas Night Lights

I am back today after a week away enjoying the simple country life that my wonderful state of Texas has to offer. My time away was an inspiration for today's Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. This week's scene depicts an old farm truck under an antique street light surrounded by fireflies!! Hope you love it as much as I loved making it!

KSS - Let's Make a Scene - Hummingbird

The fourth and final Monday of April brings with it a new Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. Today's card was inspired by the hummingbirds that have returned to my part of Texas in recent weeks. I can sit for hours watching them flit from flower to flower in the backyard!

KSS - Let's Make a Scene - Kittens and Carnations

It's time again for another Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. Today I decided to have a little fun with these cute kittens and place them in a grassy lawn with a basket of carnations in front of a lattice wall.

To create this scene, I stamped the kittens first and then masked them to add the basket. I then masked the basket as well and laid the lattice stencil over the card front and brushed in the green grass and blue sky with my Clarity brushes using distress ink. Once I removed the lattice stencil but not the masks, I added the carnations and the grassy foreground. After removing the kitten and basket masks, I added a few more blades of grass to create a smooth transition. The sentiment was stamped last of all.

Summer Cabin - Let's Make a Scene - KSS

I love when fourth Monday rolls around again, and I get to create  another "Let's Make a Scene" design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps! Right about now, I am wishing that my summer involved some time away in a cabin by the lake! Wouldn't that be heaven?

I am entering today's scene in the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create - #182 Sights, Tastes, and Sounds of Summer

Addicted to Stamps - #129 Anything Summer + a Stamp

Little Claire's  - #70 - Create a Scene

Inkspirational - #111 - Masking

My Time to Craft - #323 - Summertime

Steps I took to complete this scene:
1. Stamp the leaves of the birch trees at the top of the page
2. Stamp the cabin and mask it
3. Stamp the lake and boat
4. Sponge the sky, sandy shore, and grass
5. Stamp the grass and pebbles
6. Remove the mask
7. Stamp the birch tree trunks on a separate panel (I did several so I could piece the trunks and make them taller for this design)
8. Cut out the trunks and glue them into place over the cabin and lake
9. Stamp the ivy on a separate panel. Cut them out and glue them at the bottom of the card.

Let's Make a Graduation Scene! - KSS

In two short weeks my youngest granddaughter will be graduating from high school with honors. Last week I finished party invitations for her, and today I am using my Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps to create a special graduation card for her very special day. She is a crafter like her gram so I know she will appreciate it.

For this scene, I started with the bowl of carnations and stamped them directly on the wallpaper background. I colored the water with Copic Marker B0000. The cap and diploma were stamped on white cardstock, cut out, and glued to the cardfront along with the table and hatrack.

CCEE1617 - Baseball

For Anne's last CCEE Challenge as hostess this month, she has reminded us all that it's baseball season again (YAY!).  On today's card we were to promote our favorite team, their colors, or just use a baseball theme.

Baseball and dads make a great pairing so I am using today's challenge to finish up on my Father's Day cards for 2016. I hope you like it. The stamped images are from Baseball Multi Step Clear Stamps and Trees Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps and the die cut fence is by Impression Obsession.

LMS - Swan Lake

It's 2nd Monday and time for another Let's Make a Scene card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I am excitedly waiting to catch a whiff of autumn in the air here on the Texas Gulf Coast. It hasn't happened yet, but I am anxiously looking forward to fall's arrival as you can see in today's design.

Today's scene was created using Memento Dandelion, Peanut Brittle and Morocco for the autumn leaves of the Birch Trees Multi Step Clear Stamps. The trunks were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and Toffee Crunch. The lake is from Cabin by the Lake Multi Step Clear Stamps and stamped with Memento Summer Sky. Let's Make a Scene! KSS Monday

I have decided to mix things up a bit with my Kitchen Sink Stamps posts. (post sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps). It has been over 4 years now that I have been doing 10 minute cards every Monday. Two years later I started adding 20 minute cards as well. While clean and simple is normally my style, there are so many more things you can do with your Kitchen Sink Stamps. And scene cards are my FAVORITE sooooooooooooooo....

Beginning today and every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, I am going to be creating scenic cards by mixing several KSS sets together to an extent that 10 and 20 minutes did not allow. Today's card  was completed in 60 minutes. To create this card, I stamped the rabbit first and then masked him. I then stamped the rock wall and masked it. Next I added the sunflowers and grasses.

This card is going to a sweet friend who is moving out of state this week. I am going to mail it a few days before she leaves so it will be there waiting for her when she arrives.

Let's Make a Scene 001

Below you will find the order in which I stamped each image and the inks used:

Bunny - 3 Memento Rich Cocoa
2 Memento Toffee Crunch
1 Memento Desert Sand
4 Memento Espresso Truffle

Brick Wall - 2 Memento Toffee Crunch
1 Memento Desert Sand

Sunflowers - 2 Memento Cantaloupe
1 Memento Dandelion
3 Memento Peanut Brittle
4 Memento Rich Cocoa
5 Memento Espresso Truffle

Sunflower Stems and Leaves - 1 Memento Bamboo Leaves
2 Memento Bamboo Leaves
3 Memento Olive Grove

Sky - Stampin' Up Bashful Blue
Grass - Memento Bamboo Leaves (sponged and stamped)
Sentiment - Memento Espresso Truffle
