Kitchen Sink Stamps - Winter Cardinal

It is hard to believe that December is here, and I don't have near enough Christmas cards to put in the mail to my family and friends. It is a good thing my calendar is pretty open this week so I can focus on finishing up my cards and getting them in the mail.

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps' sponsored card is a snowy holiday scene featuring stamps from the following sets:

and

This card was created by stamping the birch tree trunks first and then masking them. I then stamped the cabin and the evergreens over the masks. I next brushed layers of snowbanks across the width of the card using torn paper panels. The final step before removing the masks was to brush in the blue sky.

I was then able to remove the masks and add the bushes, horse sleigh, pines, cardinal, and Merry Christmas sentiment.

This card is 5 x 7 inches in size and it took me an hour and 10 minutes to complete it.

KSS - Woodland Christmas

Woodland animals are so popular this year showing up in so many stamps and papers and embellishments. While looking through my newest Christmas papers, I found this delightful sheet in my Cozy & Bright Pebbles pad  and realized that I had never used the Autumn Squirrel to create a Christmas card. So today I have titled my Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card Woodland Christmas.

I am thrilled with the results! With only three layers, this adorable squirrel is one of the easiest KSS images to stamp with perfection!!

Kitchen Sink Stamps used are:

Color Recipe for the Squirrel

Layer 3 Stampin' Up Early Espresso
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Soft Suede
Layer 1 Stampin' Up Creamy Caramel

The embellishments include glittered ribbon and a satin bow by the Paper Studio.

I am entering today Christmas card in the following challenges:

Cozy Christmas - KSS Let's Make a Scene

Who would have thought that this south Texas girl would wake up on Friday morning and look out her window to see the ground and trees covered with snow? It has been 13 years since we have seen snow in my neck of the woods so, of course, it was the inspiration for this week's Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps.
To create this scene I used images from the following KSS sets:

The die cut window is from Poppy Stamps and the lacey punch is by Martha Stewart.

A Cardinal Christmas

Things are Christmas crazy around my house these days. I managed to whip out several major tasks: 60 Christmas cards made and sent, 10 dozen French cookies made and frozen, and 25 Christmas recipe scrapbook pages completed. But shopping, wrapping, and 48 scrapbook pages still await me! I need to kick things up a notch this week.

It was fun taking a break from all of those tasks to complete today's Let's Make a Scene card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. For today's design I included images from Winter Cardinals Multi Step Clear Stamps, Cabin by the Lake Multi Step Clear Stamps, Christmas Lights Multi Step Clear Stamps, Tree Friends Multi Step Clear Stamps, and Greetings from the Woods Clear Stamps. To create the look of snow on the cabin roof, I did not ink the shingles on layer 4.

Christmas Lights Oh So Bright

All of my Christmas cards went to the post office last week, but I usually receive a few cards from unexpected sources. I am creating these final cards so I won't be caught unprepared. Today I have pulled out Kitchen Sink Stamps' Multi Step Christmas Lights to use in creating these last Christmas cards of the season! It is my all time favorite Christmas set. For these cards I inked only the glass end of the bulbs and not the sockets.

Merry Christmas!

For this week's Kitchen Sink post, I have stepped away from my normal 10 minute design to create something special for you in honor of Christmas. There is not much I love doing more than masking and layering images so I put together this holiday swag of greens and roses. It brought me such joy to create this Christmas card to wish you all a very special holiday with family and friends. Thank you so much for your visits and encouragement this year! They mean the world to me!

I used elements from several different Kitchen Sink sets. The rose bud and leaf are from Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps. The pine boughs are from Winter Cardinals Multi Step Clear Stamps while the pine cones are from Build a Garland Multi Step Clear Stamps. For the sentiment, I used this long beauty from Poinsettia Multi Step Clear Stamps.

Kitchen Sink Stamps will be having an after Christmas sale starting on Christmas day and ending at midnight PST on Friday the 28th. All in stock merchandise will be discounted 35%. So beginning tomorrow you can go to the Kitchen Sink store and fill your cart with KSS goodies. Remember to enter code HOHOLYNN at checkout to receive your 35% discount.

Gifts for the Masses

I know that I am not the only one who has need of quick, simple, and inexpensive packaging for Christmas gifts for the masses (scout troops, homeroom classes, Sunday School classes, neighbors and the like). This week's Kitchen Sink 10 Minute Design #102 fills that need. I chopped the top off of brown paper lunch bags I got at the dollar store and stamped a quick branch and babble on each along with a holiday greeting. I then folded the top to the back and punched two holes for the ribbon. And truth be known, they take only about 3 minutes each. They don't even look that bad when you stamp on the wrong side of the bag. Just sayin'!

I had such fun with this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 minute design. I used Poppy Stamps' Grand Madison Window die to create each of these cards. KSS 10 Minute Christmas with Embossed Vellum Details

I am way behind on Christmas cards this year and need to kick it up a bit if I am going to be ready to send out cards the first week of December. I finished 65 last week for a charity auction where they did very well, but now I am back a square one.

This week's Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 minute design incorporates embossed vellum to add detail to these simple Christmas cards. I hope you like them.

KSS 10 Minute Monday - Scattered Inchies

For today's KSS 10 minute challenge, I stamped Kitchen Sink images on three inchies and a KSS sentiment on another. I then matted the inchies and scattered them across my card front. The sentiment inchie was added last and popped up on dimensionals. The outside inchies were hanging off the sides of the card until I whacked them one last time with the papercutter! Should you like to share your card in the Kitchen Sink Gallery, the keyword of the week is 10MC56.
