CCEE2238 - National Coffee Day

Our CCEE September Hostess, Kelly McKown-Santi is the Queen of Coffee so of course on National Coffee Day, she has asked us to create a card that has something to do with coffee.

I must admit that I didn't become a coffee fan until about 10 years ago, but now I can not start a day without it.

My card uses designer paper from Graphic 45, a die cut coffee cup from Sizzix, and a fabulously fun sentiment from Rubberneckers.

Thanks, Kelly, for a fabulous month of fun challenges!! What fun I had creating each and every one!!

Technique - Scoring - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Looking for a challenge to try this morning for my Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design, I happened upon the Technique Lover's Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. TLC917 is called SCORE and requires a scored background.

I decided it would be perfect for creating a large sheet of notebook paper as the background for a thank you card for a paraprofessional or a volunteer to acknowledge their help is getting school off to a great start this year.

After scoring the lines, I ran a blue ink pad gently across the surface of the card followed by a red pad for the left margin line. I then rounded the corners and punched the three holes down the side before stamping the sentiment and gluing on the stamped SVG cut files for the pencils and the crayons.

Stamps sets used to create this 5x7 design are:

Back to School Supplies

Class Notes

School: A Rainbow of Possibilities - KSS

A huge thank you to Kitchen Sink Stamps fans who took part in the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember event and made Butterfly Kisses a sell-out set. I had so much fun creating with it and know that it will be one of my go-to sets in the future.

Today I am sharing with you a clean and simple design which combines images for Back to School Supplies and Class Notes. The crayons were stamped on the SVG cut crayon that coordinated with the Back to School Supplies set.

2022 STAMPtember - Simon Says Stamp and Kitchen Sink Stamps

What an exciting day it is today in the Kitchen. Today is Kitchen Sink Stamps Day at STAMPtember over at Simon Says Stamp

This year's set is entitled Butterfly Kisses and comes with three butterflies and a grand variety of wonderful sentiments to create cards for many different occasions.

You can purchase the set with or without matching dies, but remember that there is only a limited supply of both. Once they sell out, they will not be sold again by Simon Says Stamp or Kitchen Sink Stamps. Should you prefer SVG cut files instead of/or in addition to the dies, you can purchase them at Kitchen Sink Stamps for 99¢.

The first sample I am sharing today is a 5 x 7 inch scenic design which mixes images from Butterfly Kisses with another Kitchen Sink Set called Birch Trees. I have used the KSS SVG cut files for both the birch trees and the butterflies. I created the background clouds by dabbing on white acrylic paint with my fingertip.

Color Recipe for the Butterflies
Using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Dew Drops
Layer 2 Volcano Lake
Layer 3 Starlight

Color Recipe for the Birch Trees
Using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Mocha
Layer 2 Espresso

For my second sample, I have created a slimline card with a Distress Oxide Ink blended background. On this card I combined images from Butterfly Kisses with a KSS set called Hydrangea. Again, I used the KSS SVG cut files for these images.

Color Recipe for Butterflies
Using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Lavender Fields
Layer 2 Lavender Fields
Layer 3 Midnight Violet

Color Recipe for Hydrangeas
Using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Pink Diamond
Layer 2 Cotton Candy
Layer 3 Puffy Heart
Layer 4 Rubellite

Color Recipe for Hydrangea Leaves
Using Stampin' Up Inks

Layer 1 Certainly Celery
Layer 2 Lucky Limeade
Layer 3 Always Artichoke

The blended background was created using Distress Oxide Inks by Ranger in the following colors:  Shabby Shutters, Old Paper, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn. The background was this sprinkled with water and ironed dry. I then splattered the surface with gold metallic acrylic paint.

I thought I would also share a photo of how I keep my SVG cut files in alphabetical order in mini folders in magnetic closure boxes. I have three boxes of these!  I love cutting these shapes with my Cricut Joy and stockpiling them in folders stamped and ready for piecing together in any way I choose.

Thank you so much for checking out our collaboration with Simon Says Stamp for their STAMPtember celebration this year!! I hope you love Butterfly Kisses and grab it up before it sells out!

CCEE2235 - 18th Birthday Celebration

Kelly McKown-Santi is the CCEE Stampers' Challenge Host for the month of September. Since tomorrow is her son's 18th birthday, Kelly has asked the CCEE Stampers to create a masculine birthday card. She wants us to use one or eight of anything on our cards.

I used one stamp to create this card and 8 jewels as the stars in the sky for my masculine birthday design.

I grabbed up this great Hero Arts background stamp on sale at Hobby Lobby last week. I know I will be using it again soon!!

Visit the CCEE DT blogs to see their masculine birthday designs for Kelly's challenge!!

Best Kitty EVER

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design was inspired by the rough week I have had with my male tabby, Elvis. As any crafter knows, we have craft supplies everywhere, and Elvis found a 12 inch stream of glitter ribbon SOMEWHERE and unknown to me proceeded to eat it. After a day of vomiting and two days of not eating or drinking, it was off to the vet for x-rays which were followed immediately by abdominal surgery. It's been tough, but he is a real trooper and is feeling much, much better. He is certainly ready to be rid of that dreaded cone, but will be wearing it for a few more days!

I created this card with KSS's newly released Top of Class and Make a Big Statement. I stamped extra ribbons and attached them behind the SVG cut ribbon since it is "Best in Show" after all!

The designer paper is of some of my treasured BasicGrey. Sure do miss them!

Color Recipe for the Ribbon using Altenew Inks:

Layer 1 Mountain Mist
Layer 2 Lagoon
Layer 3 Teal Cave
Layer 4 Galactic Stream
