CCEE2113 - Rainbows

Did you know that the 3rd of April is Find a Rainbow Day?  For our challenge this week April CCEE hostess, Frances Byrne, has asked that the CCEE Stampers include a rainbow of some typ on our cards. She said it can be either a rainbow image or rainbow colors...whichever we prefer.

Rainbows and unicorns go hand in hand so I have included both on my card today. The rainbow was made with a stencil from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The unicorn and sentiment are from Unity. Both were cut on my Cricut Joy using the SVG cut file I purchased with the set.

Check in and see the lovely rainbows the rest of the CCEE Stampers featured on their cards this week!!

March Release - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Such excitement today as I get to share a whole passel of fabulous new images being released by Kitchen Sink Stamps. All of them lend themselves very well to my favorite style of stamping: scene building which I have featured on each of these Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored designs.

The new sets available for purchase today include:

In addition to Spring Nest I have also used All Year Grapevine Wreath and Fall Chrysanthemum (leaves) to create these first two cards. On this first card, I stamped and masked the entire image and then sponged a chicken wire background with a stencil.

For this second card, I used the SVG cut files for the wreath, nest, bow, feathers and leaves. When ordering stamps, you can get the SVG cut files for free at the time of purchase. I brushed on the brick background before assembling the pieces. The bow and nest are popped up on dimensionals.

This first Build a Pine Branch sample was created adding images from Winter Cardinals and Grand View Mountains. Again, on this card I masked and stamped the entire scene on the card front starting with the pine branch before adding the cardinal and the mountains. I then watercolored the green field and added some texture to that area by using the SVG Cloudy Skies stencil with a darker green. I then add the clouds above the mountains also using one of the SVC Cloudy Skies stencils. The sentiment is from Love Letters.

Again, on this second sample, I have used SVG cut files and layered them over each other without masking. Images from Cabin by the Lake, Tiny Norway Pine (no longer available), Birch Trees, Tree Friends, and Summer Lemons (sentiment) were used in addition to Build a Pine Branch.

The new Water Lilies set also includes this fun frog! Other images on this first Water Lilies card include Cattails, Isle of Big Bay LakeHoney Bunny, and a sentiment from Ever After Castle Greetings. I used the SVG cut files for the frog and the lily pads with the water lilies. The designer paper is from BasicGrey.

My final sample for today's reveal features the Graceful Swan. I used SVG cut files for the birch tree trunks, the swan, and the water lily. The other images on the card are from Birch Trees, Grand View Mountains, Isle of Big Bay Lake, and Love Letters (sentiment). The sky was create with the Cloudy Skies stencil. The sentiment label was created with a Sizzix die.

I hope you find something you love in this new release. I loved creating these spring designs to show these wonderful images off for you!

Let There Be Spring - KSS

I took my parents out for a Sunday drive yesterday afternoon to see if we could spot any Texas bluebonnets or Indian paintbrushes growing along the highway. We weren't too sure what our recent week of hard freeze would do to this year's crop of wildflowers. Along the highway, we found a tiny bunch of about 6 Indian paintbrushes and not a single bluebonnet. Then we turned off the main highway onto our favorite country road, and we were rewarded with acres and acres of bluebonnets! What a delight! I am sure we will visit them again in another week or two when they are in full bloom!

Those beautiful blossoms inspired today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored designI call this card "Songs of Spring." Those gorgeous blue flowers certainly made my heart sing!

Kitchen Sink Stamps used to create this card are:

Bluebonnets

Guitar

Grazing Horse

Bold 4 Seasons Greetings

I am entering this card is the following challenges:

Dragonfly Dreams - March Challenge - Include a Flower

Allsorts Challenge - Week 616 - Spring Flowers

Daring Cardmakers - Spring Things

CCEE2111 - International Day of Forests

Our talented CCEE hostess for the month of March, France Byrne, let the CCEE Stampers know that Sunday, March 21st is International Day of Forests. She has therefore instructed the CCEE Stampers to create cards which feature trees.

My one layer card uses images from Trees by Inkadinkado and a sentiment from Season of Change by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

A Couple of Thanks - KSS

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored designs are two thank you cards using images from Watercolor Thanks and Spring Daffodils. It seems I have depleted my thank you card stash and need to send out a few this week.

This first one was created for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The theme is Think Spring. Well, when I think spring, I think of all the bulbs bursting forth with their rainbow of tulips, gladiolus, and daffodils. Two of my dad's gladiolus bloomed just before our recent ice storm. He cut the blooms and brought them in to enjoy during those icy days! I'm keeping my eyes peeled, but haven't seen any daffodils, yet! But they will start showing up any day now, I am sure!

This next card was created for the 3-D Sentiment with Vanishing Point Technique Lover's Challenge also at Splitcoaststampers. I had seen Lydia Fiedler's blog post and YouTube video a week or so back featuring this technique, and it took me back to my early teaching career when we had students do this with their signature as they were learning cursive writing. When it popped up on SCS again today as the TLC, I knew I wanted to take that trip down memory lane and try it again, just for fun!

International Women's Day

Kitchen Sink Stamps is joining again this year with Women.beyoutifully.you's annual blog hop to celebrate International Women's Day.

Many of your favorite craft companies including Kitchen Sink Stamps are taking part as sponsors in this wonderful day and each will be awarding a prize by random drawing to one lucky person who takes part in this fun week of activities. You can read all the specifics on the Women.beyoutifully.you Blog.

Take a look at the amazing list of sponsors! I'm sure you will see many you love!

Here is the Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card that I will be entering in the blog hop. It was created using images from Keep Calm Coffee Mug, Sweetheart Daisies, Carnations, and Snowy Cabin. The designer paper tablecloth is from the Little Darlings Collection by Graphic 45. The Small Madison Window Die is from Poppy Stamps.

Strong was created with the We R Memory Keepers Word Punch and added to the sentiment from Keep Calm Coffee Mug to create a sentiment that works with the theme of empowerment of women.

I chose to cover the coffee mug with bees to represent the huge number of women working tirelessly around the world to end gender bias and to empower women in their efforts for justice and equality.

Be sure to stop by and see the wonderful Kitchen Sink Stamps designs Maria and Nancy have created for this year's hop!

CCEE2109 - Old Stuff

It's a brand new month, which means the CCEE Stampers have a brand new challenge hostess. Our March hostess is the talented Frances Byrne. She has informed us that the 2nd of March was Old Stuff Day! So for this week's challenge for the CCEE Stampers, Frances has asked us to combine something old (stamps, dies, and the like) with something that is somewhat new.

I have used two fairly old items on this design. I have been collecting scriptures from Word Art Wednesday for over 5 years to use on the cards I create for the cards I make for ministry in my church. The one I have used on today's card is about 4 years old. The oldest item I have used on this card is the monarch butterfly from Kitchen Sink Stamps which is just over 13 years old.

The newest things on my card are the Distress Oxide inks from Ranger I used to create the blended background. One of them just arrived in the mail this past week.

If you would like to see the oldies used by the rest of the CCEE Design Team in their designs this week check out their blogs below:

Pop-Up Flip Card - A Bit of Sunshine - KSS

To create today's Kitchen Sink Stamp sponsored card, I used this wonderful tutorial by Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Kim Peck for Splitcoaststampers to create a Pop-Up Flip Card. This fun fold allows you to view the front focal image of your card on both the inside and the outside of the card.

All images on this card come from the newly released Sweetheart Daisies: the heart, the bees, and the sentiments. This is what you see when the card is closed. It is a standard A2 sized card.

And this is what you see when it is opened!

I used the KSS SVG Cut File for the Sweetheart Daisies to cut out both the heart and the bees. I then stamped the images on the cutouts. The bees use the same color recipe as the daisies except I used Altenew Jet Black for Layer 4 on the bees. The designer paper is by the Paper Studio and the inked hexagons on the heart were added with an embossing folder. To create the bee stopper to hold the flipped circle on the inside of the card, I added two dimensionals to the back of the bee stacked one on top of the other.

This card has been entered in the following challenges:

Crafting Happiness - Anything Goes with the option of green

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Challenge 2109 - Anythink Goes

Use Your Stuff - Challenge #417 A Double Trouble Collaboration - Tartan/or Plaid/Checks

Double Trouble - Challenge #78 Wearin' o' the Green

Splitcoaststampers Technique Lover's Challenge #836
