Christmases Past - The Project Bin

This wonderful Christmas tree image, which is a part of the Mid Century Christmas set by The Project Bin, takes me back in time to the early sixties when every other house on the street featured a silver tinsel Christmas tree in the front bay window lighted by a spinning wheel of pastel colors.

That was the inspiration for this holiday card sponsored by The Project Bin. To create the rainbow background I used the smashed acetate method created with water-based markers spritzed with water and slapped onto the paper. I embossed the tree in silver, of course!!

I know many of my friends share the same memories! I need to start checking the antique stores to see if I can track down one of these magical trees!!

  2. Great card! And it does bring back memories. I remember my mother taking our "real" Christmas tree down into the basement and spraying it with silver spray!
