Today's card is my final Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design as a design team member since the store will be closing shop at midnight PST on Wednesday, July 31. I have had the remarkable pleasure of working with Maria and her amazing art almost from the beginning of Kitchen Sink Stamps. My first purchase from her was the classic Heart & Roses. Although KSS is closing, you will still see her beautiful images showing up in my work from time to time. Her realistic, layered images are themselves timeless. They will therefore never go out of style and will always be among my favorites. Thank you, Maria for the beauty and joy you have brought into my life with your exquisite talent.
Thank you to each of you who have followed by work here as well as at Splitcoaststampers and left such sweet comments. What a blessing you have been to my life.
I chosen to create with the Graceful Swan today since it is still in stock in the store. I know many people shy away from white images so I am including the color recipe I used to create the swan today. My main advice to you when trying to stamp a layered white image is to ALWAYS leave off Layer 1. Start stamping with Layer 2 in the palest gray you have and go up from there.
Using Altenew Inks
Layer 1 - omit this layer
Layer 2 - Limestone stamped off once
Layer 3 - Limestone
Layer 4 - Silver Stone
Layer 5 - Silver Lining
Layer 6 - Industrial Diamond
Layer 7 - Jet Black

What a beautiful final card and post as your DT commitment! I love the water layers along with the tree island in the background! I've enjoyed seeing your projects with this company and I'm so glad to read that you'll still be using them from time to time. Thanks for sharing my friend and best wishes to Maria.
ReplyDeleteLynn, your "final" card with the DT is absolutely gorgeous! Your post brought a tear to my eye, though. It's an end of an era; one you've excelled at. I wish Maria the very best and will look forward to seeing KSS cards on your blog from time to time in the future, too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful peaceful scene for a Christmas card, Lynn. It's always sad when a company closes. Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Christmas card Lynn. Thanks for playing along with the Daring Cardmakers this week! x
ReplyDeleteAdorable card! Thank you for playing at Dragonfly Dreams Challenge!
ReplyDeleteYou have done some amazing things with KSS and made so many beautiful scenes. It's sad so many places have closed recently but people move on in different directions or move forward with new plans. Congrats on all the great years as a KSS designer. I look forward to anything you decide to stamp with, but KSS will always be special.
ReplyDeleteYou have definitely mastered the art of these stamps. I have enjoyed all of the KSS cards you have created and envy your talent.
