Skating through the Holidays - KSS

For those of you not aware, Kitchen Sink Stamps is celebrating their 11th birthday with a big sale!!  When placing an order from them through midnight, September 25, you can receive a 20% discount on their in stock merchandise by using promo code BIRTHDAY20KSS.

For Kitchen Sink Stamps' Let's Make a Scene design today, I have crafted a tall Christmas card featuring a recent set released from KSS, Figure Skates Multi Step Clear Stamps. I placed the skates on the hardwood floor and above it part of a large picture window looking out on the happy skaters. I created this outside scene with the skates a few weeks ago, but decided to take them indoors today.

Other sets used to create this Let's Make a Scene design include:

Icy Pond Multi-Step Clear Stamps
Snowy Cabin Multi-Step Clear Stamps
Big & Bold Christmas Greetings

Color Recipe for the Skates:

Layer 5 - Versafine Onyx Black
Layer 4 - Stampin' Up Gray Granite
Layer 3  - Stampin' Up Going Gray
Layer 2 - PTI Soft Stone
Layer 1 - omitted

Color Recipe for the Icy Pond:

Layer 3 - Memento Summer Sky stamped 3 times
Layer 2 - Memento Summer Sky
Layer 1 - Memento Summer Sky

Bare Trees were stamped with Stampin' Up Soft Suede
The sky was brushed on with Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass by Ranger.
The skaters and the sentiment were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

The window frame was created using Stitched Rectangle Dies by My Favorite Things.

Papers used for this card include:

  2. Absolutely wonderful holiday scene! It looks so serene and soft and makes me wish I could once again go back to my childhood and ice skate! We had a frozen pond outside our home in Germany and would just skate on the frozen ice top. Thanks for the wonderful trip down memory lane!

  8. WOW, a scene within a scene.... Love this.. Now get those skates on and get out there. Your scenes are truly amazing Lynn... It is always a pleasure to see what you have been up to and I appreciate your blog visits as well. I'm hoping to find more time for creating as we get stuff done around the new house. We usually run over to the flea market on Saturdays and today we are also heading to the lake to get some fishing in. Have a good weekend my dear. Hugs
