Blue on Blue Birthday

Zella has invited the members of Tangled Up in Creativity to take part in a challenge this month which involves creating a card with an old uninked stamp and a long forgotten embellishment. The card then needs to be mailed to someone you don't usually send cards to.

The stamp is from a Unity set called Insightful Meadows which I purchased three or four years ago which contains pretty silhouettes. I don't think I have ever inked this tall one. The trim is from the stash I purchased when the JoAnn's in my town was closing. The card is going to an old friend I think about often, but have not contacted in a few years.

I used the colors from SCS Color Challenge 418.

Thanks, Zella, for this fun challenge!!

Stamps: Insightful Meadows by Unity

Embellishment: Silk Braid

  1. What a great card and technique, love how you did the various blues with the stamp on it. Always creative here.

  2. Fantastic card! Love how you cut apart the image!

  3. Oh Lynn, your card is lovely! I love the blue colors and how you cute apart the image. Very clever!! (Going to have to steal that idea my friend! LOL!!). But most importantly, how wonderful that your card will be sent to someone you haven't been in contact with for several years!!!! I hope that the card brings you and your friend back together again and that you can just pick up right where you left off. Thanks for participating in my challenge.

  4. Absolutlely stunning design, color, layout and image. You rocked the challenge, Lynn!

  5. This is beautiful Lynn, love the stamp. I got to get going on this challenge myself :)

  6. ugh...I really wanted to play this challenge. I think I am going to just do it...and be late in posting!

  7. Nice gradient colors. This look is so trendy right now.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and leaving a comment on my work! I sincerely appreciate it!!
