CCEE2043 - More Than One Fold

CCEE October hostess, Frances Byrne, has asked the CCEE Stampers to create a card that has more than one fold this week… Gatefold, Z Fold Card, Easel card etc.

I am featuring a card which uses the fold that was featured in last week's sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers. The thread includes a YouTube tutorial for creating this design. It is fun and easy and, as a bonus, creates a pocket inside that is perfect for stashing cash or a gift card!

This card was created for my oldest granddaughter who is getting married this Sunday at an outdoor wedding in the mountains of Georgia, thus the autumn colors and theme.

I used Momenta dies for the leaves and acorns and the designer paper is Autumn Splendor by Simple Stories.

Check out the fun folds that the members of the CCEE Stampers design team chose to feature this week:

I Remembered - The Project Bin

For today's design sponsored by The Project Bin, I used their awesome sentiment set, Born Yesterday. It has so many fun sentiments to use in creating birthday cards for your friends and family.

As a fellow card maker, you know there is one major flaw in waiting to see someone's birthday pop up on Facebook! It's too late to get a card in their hands on that day unless you hand-deliver it. I have solved this problem by writing my friend's birthdays on my calendar 5 days before their actual birthday! Now I don't have to send out belated cards nearly so often! LOL!!

To create this birthday card, I stamped this fabulously fun sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink on designer paper from the Whale of a Time designer paper series by Stampin' Up and layered it on top of another design from the same series. The crab is a Momenta die cut, and I added some enamel dots as air bubbles.

Thanks for your visit today! Stop by The Project Bin and check out their fun images and sentiments!

Sweet Halloween - KSS

I  am having more fun creating with Sweet Treats for today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design. I used various candies from this great set to spell out Halloween on this slimline card. The It's is from Words 4 Celebrating.

The designer paper is by Teresa Collins. The white cardfront is Recollection 110 white.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

The Artsy Stamper - Challenge #26 - Halloween Colors

Incy Wincy Designs - Halloween and/or Autumn Fall Colors

Send a Smile 4 Kids - Holiday or Celebrations Cards 4 Kids

CCEE2042 - Dictionary Day

CCEE Stampers October hostess, Frances Byrne, has informed the CCEE Stampers that tomorrow is Dictionary Day. For our challenge this week, she has asked that we create a card that includes words on it. Maybe a scripty word background either stamped or using patterned papers or a large focal sentiment, etc.

I am kicking it into high-gear with my Christmas cards for this year. How is it possible that I am so behind during this year of isolation? I don't know, but I am. I have created this holiday design using the 3-D Poinsettia embossing folder by Sizzix and added the die cut Joy from Stampin' Up.

Sweet Halloween Treats

This week's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design uses their delightful Sweet Treats Multi Step Clear Stamp set released last week. As you can see in the card, the candies in this fun set include candy corn, twizzlers, gumdrops, a sucker, and peppermints! I used kraft paper to build a treat bag to hold the candy and decorated it with images from Autumn Pumpkin, Pumpkins, and Ready 4 Any Holiday.

The designer paper is Haunted Hallows by Teresa Collins. I used a circle punch for the moon and a Gina Marie Designs die for the grass.

I am entering this card is the following challenges:

CCEE2041 - World Octopus Day

October hostess, Frances Byrne, has informed the CCEE Stampers that today is World Octopus Day! She has therefore declared that the CCEE Stampers should include an octopus or other sea animal on this week's cards.

I searched my collection high and low to see if I could come up with an octopus. Turns out I have no octopus stamps or die cuts, but look what I found in my Graphic 45 tub!! These papers are from their By the Sea collection and work perfectly for World Octopus Day, if I do say so myself!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town - The Project Bin

Today's Christmas card sponsored by The Project Bin features the wonderful Santa face from their newest Christmas set, Mid Century Christmas. It brings back so many treasured holiday memories of my 50s and 60s childhood so, of course, I love creating with it!

During those years my dad and my uncle worked for the some electric company. My uncle had always played Santa at all of the company Christmas parties. The time came when he could no longer do it, and my dad decided he would enjoy that. Well, it just so happened that my mother was an amazing seamstress and made all of the clothes for herself, my sister, and I. Undaunted by the task, she set about to make him the most amazingly awesome Santa suit that he enjoyed wearing for many, many years to come serving as Santa for his company, our church, and many charitable organizations. Even after retirement, he would dress up in that gorgeous Santa suit each Christmas to delight and entertain his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

There even came a time when he was involved in a traffic accident while wearing his suit. Imagine the story that lady went home to tell her family! "Guess who I ran into today? Santa!" We still laugh about that one!
