Stained Glass Background

Splitcoaststampers had an interesting technique challenge posted today, so I decided to use it to create this week's card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I used the small flower image from Carnations Multi Step Clear Stamps and a get well sentiment from Kitchen Sink Stamps on this get well card for a friend.

 After drawing the stained glass lines with a pencil, I painted them with Distress Oxide Inks mixed with water. I then sprinkled the entire surface with water droplets and used my heat gun to oxidize the ink. The last step for the background was to redraw the lines with a Sharpie. I then matted my stamped KSS carnation image with black and attached it to the card.

    Beautiful! I love that background and the way it resembles stained glass! The colors are so pretty and the carnation is the crowing glory. So pretty.

    I love the beautiful stained glass look for your card- and, your technique with the Distress Oxide inks on the BG created some fabulous effects- love it- gotta look this up and give it a go!
