It's time again for another CCEE challenge and our April hostess, Frances, has planned a great one for this week.
Since today is National Librarian Day, our challenge this week is to use a book as our inspiration. The book can be any book of our choice: adult or children's.
I have used as my inspiration this week the book The Old Man and the Boy by Robert Ruark. It is the sweet, sweet story about a grandfather and his grandson who develop a very special relationship while hunting the woods and fishing the lakes of North Carolina. The grandfather passes on to his grandson much wisdom and knowledge of life lessons learned.

ReplyDeleteWhat an endearing inspiration from the back story you shared. It's a beautiful scene you created with the silouette perfectly set against the sunset background. Love the watercolory effect of the sun and water.

ReplyDeleteLOVE!!! Beautiful sunset you created....it makes me feel like I'm looking at a real photo and not a stamped image. Stunning - as always :)

I must check that out - I'm always looking for recommended books to add to my library list; it's so hard to go in and find books without at least some starting point! I always liked that Flourishes set - the silhouette images always made me think of book illustrations which makes it doubly perfect for this challenge. The sentiment picks up on the serene calm scene so well.
