Power Poppy Upbeat 1 Challenge

I am back today with another card for a Power Poppy Challenge. The task was to be inspired by Thelonious Monk's Paris 1969 album cover featured on the Power Poppy Blog.

I created the the watery background by inking an acrylic block with Memento Summer Sky and Lulu Lavender. After masking the tulips, I spritzed the block with water and stamped it over the bottom portion of the panel. I then splattered more ink over the top of that. Next I removed the mask and shaded the tulips with a variety of gray Prismacolor pencils. The butterfly was created with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is from Power Poppy's Good Thinking: Renewal.

CCEE 1420 Sketch

Power Poppy World 1 Challenge

Early May always brings back wonderful childhood memories of my beloved grandmother who passed away nearly 30 years ago. Not a single Mother's Day came around without her bringing a beautiful hydrangea of pink or blue or purple to my mother. Paper and Ink

It seems lately that I have turned into a paper and ink girl. My ribbons and buttons and jewels are beginning to feel a little neglected, but I just can't seem to help myself. In addition to allowing the fabulous Kitchen Sink images to have center stage is the bonus of saving the extra 20¢ postage!

KSS Pear with SCS TLC477 - What's the Point?

I got a late start today on my Kitchen Sink designs so I took the opportunity to look in on the Splitcoaststampers' Technique Challenge for inspiration. TLC477 is titled "What's the Point?" and asked for pointillism to be used to create some of the background for the design. Today's Kitchen Sink design is very simple. The card is a 4.5 inch square topped with a slightly smaller square which has a hole die cut in the center. For the 10 Minute card, I stamped on the card front and popped the embossed panel over it.
