Paper Pieced Puppy
This card was created for the Clean and Simple Challenge on Splitcoaststampers this week which required that paper piecing be a part of the design. In order to paper piece this precious puppy from Angels Landing's new June release, Toys on Wheels, the first thing I did was size it to 2.5 inches in height. I then printed it on regular computer paper, removed it from the printer, and taped a 3 inch square of Print Packs designer paper from Stampin' Up over the image. By running it through the printer again, I had the pieced puppy ready to cut out.
I then printed the puppy one last time on white Georgia Pacific card stock with the Baby Boy sentiment also from Toys on Wheels centered below it. I colored the base and wheels with a Bic Mark It and added black brads in the center of the wheels. I cut out the DP puppy and glued it to the image. With a black Sharpie, I colored the pup's nose and added a black collar. I punched a hole at the front of the collar and ran the hemp string with the button pull through it.
The puppy layer was cut 4.5 by 3.5 and a black mat 4.75 x 3.75 was added below it. They were then mounted with dimensionals to the Bordering Blue card front which had been embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.

Pull Toy Gift Card Holder Slider Sleeve
With gift cards quickly becoming one of the most popular gifts on the planet, I'm always looking for clever and fun ways to present them to my family and friends. With a baby shower looming close on my horizon, I thought today would be a great day to use one of the precious pull toy and sentiment digital images from the new Angels Landing June release, Toys on Wheels, to create a gift card holder.
I thought it would be fun if the string on the pull toy actually pulled the gift card out of the sleeve. This gift card holder works using the same principle as the Pull Treats in this wonderful tutorial created by Beate Johns for Splitcoaststampers. A hole is punched through the entire sleeve and the ribbon inserted through the holes is used to pull the gift card out of the sleeve.
The duck and the sentiment were printed on white Georgia Pacific card stock and cut to 6.5 by 3.75 inches. It was then scored at .5 inches and 3.5 inches. After the duck was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and odorless mineral spirits and the background added with Itty Bitty Backgrounds by Stampin' Up, a 3 by 4 piece of orange card stock was glued behind the duck section of the sleeve. Next a 3 by 4.25 piece of yellow cardstock was glued behind that.
By folding on the scored lines of the white cardstock, the sleeve was created when the .5 scored flap was glued down on the back. I then used my hammer and hole punch to pound a hole straight through the sleeve. Twelve inches of yellow grosgrain ribbon was then fed through the holes and lined up to the left of the gift card holder. Finally the gift card was inserted into the sleeve and pushed toward the bottom retracting the ribbon as it went. Lastly I tied an orange bow at the edge of the card to complete the pull.
Voila!! The duck's cord is pulled and out pops the Target gift card ready to spend on goodies for the new baby!

Hop on Board the Angels Landing Express!!
If you have arrived here, I hope that means you have hopped aboard the Angels Landing Express. This is the second stop on the first official Angels Landing Blog Hop! If you missed the first stop on the hop, head back over to Judi's Blog and follow the links. Today each member of the Design Team is sharing projects created using two delightful new digital image sets for June, Toys on Wheels and Alphabet Train.
Clearly, I have used the Alphabet Train to create my card. I had so much fun playing with the pieces of this adorable set!. One of the fabulous things about digital images is you can size and place them anyway you want. I made my train cars small (about 1 inch tall on the letters) because I wanted my train to reach from side to side on a standard 5.5 inch x 4.25 inch card.
I also wanted my card to be bright and sassy so I used my Lime Rickey paper from BasicGrey as the jumping off point for my color pallet. The card front is Pumpkin Pie and the accent layer is Purely Pomegranate, both by Stampin' Up. The Pumpkin Pie card front was embossed with Cuttlebug Spots & Dots.
The digital images were printed on White Georgia Pacific card stock and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and odorless mineral spirits. I used my Pumpkin Pie marker to draw the string which ties the cars of the train together. I stamped speckles using Itty Bitty Backgrounds by Stampin' Up in both Pumpkin Pie and Pink Passion over the finished images. Finally, I added Magenta Stickles to the letters and pink rhinestones to the centers of the wheels for a little glitz and glamor!

Knock and the Door Will Be Opened
This is a bittersweet day for Kitchen Sink Stamps. Today will be the last posting of Designer Tammy Hershberger as a Kitchen Sink Crew Member. Tammy was the very first person to single my work out at Splitcoaststampers with encouraging praise and attention, and it gave me the courage and confidence to venture out into the stamping world. Her work has been such an inspiration to me, and I will always remain one of her biggest fans!! Best wishes, Tammy, in all that you do!! We will miss you much in the Kitchen! Please check out her beautiful card over at Stamp Happy!
I have created my card today with Adornments Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I printed my scripture on US Vanilla and cut it out using my Nestabilities circles. The adornments were stamped on US Vanilla as well using Creamy Caramel stamped off once for the first layer, Creamy Caramel for the second layer, and Chocolate Chip for the third layer.
The pieces were cut out and the door plate and scripture mounted on a layer of Chocolate Chip. I distressed the edges of both.
The background was created in my Cuttlebug Distress Stripes embossing folder which I had inked with Creamy Caramel.

June Wedding
I promised another Angels Landing treat today and here it is! Two of my dear friends are getting married in a couple of weeks so I created this summery card for their wedding.
I love the simplicity of daisies so I chose to print these from Pierced Flowers in two sizes on white Georgia Pacific card stock. I colored the centers with a Yellow Blaze Bic Mark-It and the petals with a clear Spica pen. I then cut them out and pierced them before mounting them with dimensionals on the Pierced Swirls Background around which I had tied a big yellow polka-dot bow. I also added a little yellow Stickles to the centers after the flowers were in place!
The leaves were printed in two sizes on Always Artichoke card stock from Stampin' Up. I cut them out and pierced them before slipping them under the daisies and gluing them in place.
The sentiment is computer generated, and I glued rhinestones in the Os to give the card a little bling!

Papers: White Georgia Pacific, YoYo Yellow, Basic Black, and Always Artichoke by Stampin' Up
Embellishments: Ribbon, Rhinestones, Stickles
Tools: Paper Piercer, Clear Spica, and Yellow Blaze Bic Mark-It

Sweet Birthday Wishes
The Angels Landing design theme for today is Pillow Boxes! A free template for this simple pillow box comes with the Pierced Backgrounds Digi-Stamps set.
My BasicGrey archaic/rock designer paper is an ideal weight for this box. I cut, scored, folded the box, and sealed it at each end with a one inch strip of Scor-Tape. A slotted tab on the back makes it easy to insert the birthday surprise of your choice!
I decided to decorate my pillow box with this precious sugar glider from the Aussie Animals collection. I printed it on white Georgia Pacific card stock, cut it out, and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and oderless mineral spirits. What a cutie!!
I put a double belly band of Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery around the pillow box and popped up the sugar glider on dimensionals. Using punches, I created the fern and flowers to slip under him.
To complete my box I added a birthday Pierced Tags which I had pierced and sponged with ink. I added a punched butterfly and more fern before pulling a ribbon through the tag and tying a pretty bow!
Head over to the Angels Landing blog and check out the wonderful pillow boxes created by Angels Landing's other designers!!

One Layer Card - Masking and Sponging
The Limited Supply Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers today had two requirements: one layer only and a summer theme!
I always enjoy making one layer cards using masking. It seems I usually gravitate to the beach because I love creating the sand, sea, and sky!
I started at the bottom of the card and worked my way up. Using 3 Step Sea Shells from Kitchen Sink Stamps, I stamped the large shell, masked it, and then stamped the sand dollar. Once the sand dollar was masked, I stamped the two starfish. Then the starfish masks were added and I sponged on the sand over a torn sheet of computer paper. I then stamped over the whole area with Itty Bitty Backgrounds by Stampin' Up.
After removing all those masks, I used my torn computer paper to work my way up adding Cool Caribbean sponging for the ocean. I repositioned the torn paper about four times to create the waves. Leaving it in place the final time, I used it as a mask to add the setting sun. After masking the sun, I then sponged on the sky and removed and discarded the masks.
The sentiment from PaperTrey Ink was added last with Versafine Vintage Sepia. Versafine is my absolute favorite ink for adding sentiments. I always get a clean, crisp, strong image!!
Stamps: Sea Shells Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps, Little Shapes and Itty Bitty Backgrounds by Stampin' Up, Out on a Limb Sentiments by PaperTrey Ink
Paper: White by PaperTrey Ink
Ink: Blush Blossom, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Real Rust, Sahara Sand, Marigold Morning, Cool Caribbean, Regal Rose, and Soft Sky by Stampin' Up, Versafine Vintage Sepia

Fun in the Summer Sun - Angels Landing
Well, things have certainly started to sizzle here in Texas so I hope you are ready for a little Fun in the Summer Sun! I had a lot of fun creating this card to share with you today using digital images from Angels Landing's Mini Bears & Birds created by Judi Maddigan.
I started with a Soft Sky card front and added a tree trunk cut from Chocolate Chip card stock. I next added a Wild Wasabi panel on the lower half of the card. I used my scissors to fringe the top of the Wasabi and then sponged the edges with more ink to create the grass. The leafy parts of the tree were punched using Stampin' Up's scalloped punch and also sponged with more green.
The blanket spread on the grass was made using a scrap of BasisGrey die cut with my Cuttlebug. Then I was ready to add these precious characters. The teddy bear and bird were printed on US White. I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. They were then cut out and mounted on the BG blanket.
I made the sun glasses using a circle punch. Looks like teddy is hoping to get them back from this sweet little bird, don't you think?
I drew a few stems at the bottom of the card and added some Prima flowers with rhinestone centers to complete the look. I cut a green Prima into pieces to add as leaves.
Last of all I added the computer generated sentiment cut with oval and Designer Label punches.

KSCC#14 - Going Green!
The theme for June's Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge #14 is Going Green (and no, I don't mean Certainly Celery or Kiwi Kiss)!
Like many responsible people, I'm trying to become a better citizen of Planet Earth and have been looking for opportunities to reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle! I thought surely some of the miscellaneous trash accumulating at my house could fit into my paper crafting somewhere!!
So my challenge to you today is to take some previously used non-stamping item that is headed for the trash can and turn it into a component in your Kitchen Sink project either as a layer or an embellishment of some sort! Trash to Treasure so to speak!
That means it's time for a little dumpster diving!!! Have fun!!! I can't wait to see what you clever and resourceful stampers create!
We are so excited to have Dee back stamping with us today! She is on the mend following triple bypass surgery!! We missed you, Dee!! Here are the wonderful recycled ideas our Kitchen Sink Crew have made to inspire you today!
Hopefully something you have seen will send you to your closet to pull out those Kitchen Sink Stamps and your trash can to pull out some reusable treasure. You have until June 19 to complete and upload a project for this challenge using Mr. Linky on the Kitchen Sink Weblog! There will be three lucky winners all selected by a random number generator.
lst Prize - the large KSS set of your choice
2nd Prize - the small KSS set of your choice

The treasure I found in my trash was a wonderful gold metallic paper platter which I had used to take cookies to a church luncheon. I thought, "This is too pretty to throw away! There must be some other way I can use it." So I carried it over to my paper cutter and started slicing it into card-size pieces! I love the ruffled ridges and the shiny gold!
