Circles and Squares - CCEE1848

CCEE Stampers November Hostess, Anne Harmon has taken it easy of us today. The only requirement for today's card is that it includes at least one circle and one square. Add more if you like!!

I used a fun stamp and die set from Spellbinders call The Breakfast Club. The knife, fork, and spoon are dies from Gina Marie Designs.

'Tis the Season - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Well, the race is on, and Christmas is headed our way at breakneck speed! Today's Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps is my last Christmas card that I will create to send out this year.  I plan to spend this afternoon getting all the Christmas cards I have made to date into envelopes and slapping on addresses and stamps so that they can head to the post office for mailing on December 1. (Message me your new address, Irene!)

It sure feels great to have all that I need for this year done and ready to go! But, not to worry! I will continue to create holiday cards for the rest of the year so I can have this same fabulous, accomplished feeling again next year.

Humorous Birthday Cards - CCEE1847

November CCEE Hostess Anne Harmon has set humorous birthday cards as the challenge for the CCEE Stampers this week. 

I have mixed a bunch of stamps from my collection to create my card. The lovely wine-drinking lady is by Art Impressions. It's Your Birthday is from Script Birthdays by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The wine sentiment is from Rubberneckers and the Celebrate Big is from my Unity collection.

Giving Thanks with WAW and KSS

Many of you are aware that I create a majority of my cards for use at my church. Let's Make a Scene of Gratitude - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Last week was a week filled with difficult days and endless responsibilities. I would not have made it through without the support of friends and family who always come when I call. Today's Let's Make a Scene card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps is going to one of those very special people.

My sister, Liz, stepped in and traveled to my town to give me her help and assistance. She did everything I asked of her and, as always, found things to do without being asked. I am so blessed that we have such a close and loving relationship. She is my rock and always beside me during challenging times.

Thank you, Liz! I know you will cry when you get this just as I am crying now!! I love you and thank God everyday that he made you my sister!

CCEE1845 - Tongue Twister Day

According to CCEE Challenge Hostess, Anne Harmon, today is Tongue Twister Day. Most languages have their own versions of tongue twisters. In sign language, they are called “finger Fumbles”. Anne has asked the CCEE Stampers to use a tongue twister to inspire our cards.

The tongue twister I have chosen is "The big black bug bled blue blood." 

Why, indeed??? This card is headed to my Wacko basket.

Belated Autumn Birthday - Kitchen Sink Stamps

I know it probably happens to the best of us, but I hate when it happens to me. I have my calendar set up so carefully with each person's birthday listed four days before their real birthday so that the card goes in the mail THAT day and arrives a little early or on time. Somehow my October got so filled and clogged with events and responsibilities that I somehow overlooked a birthday for a dear friend!

Turkey Day at the CCEE Stampers

It's a brand new month, so it's time to introduce our new challenge hostess for the month .... Anne Harmon.

This is the month of Thanksgiving in the United States. So for our challenge this week, Anne is asking us to use a turkey on our cards. If you are in another place that does not celebrate Thanksgiving, you may use a bird. It wouldn’t hurt if there was a RED feather or two!

Doodled Plaid Thanksgiving

The Technique Challenge at Splitcoaststampers this morning was to create your own doodled plaid to use on your card in some way. So I decided to give it a try on my Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored Thanksgiving card this morning.

I used washi tape and strips of paper to mask off the corner of the cardfront and brush on the orange ink. I then removed those strips and added new ones perpendicular to those and brushed on the brown. The last step was the doodled lines added with a fine tipped sharpie.

This card was created with images from Kitchen Sink Stamps' Turkey Trot Multi Step Clear Stamps. The three step turkey is so easy to line up and always looks so colorful and proud struttin' his stuff!

True One Layer Card - CCEE 1843

Many of the CCEE Stampers do fabulously wonderful fancy fold cards. Our October hostess,  says this is not her thing. Today Joanne Grzelak is challenging  the CCEE Stampers to make a true one layered card....no paper layers, no popups, no embellishments. All the work must be done directly on the base layer. Embossing is fine, of course.

So I started with the squirrel and then masked it before adding the faux layers by masking as well. I then covered those with a mask and sponged distress ink through a stencil. I finished the card with stamped leaves at the corners and a birthday sentiment. This is my type of card, too, Joanne! Just paper and ink!

Toadstools, Ladybugs, and Quail

As I promised last week, today is the day that Kitchen Sink Stamps is releasing three wonderful new sets:

Forest Toadstools Multi Step Clear Stamps

California Quail Multi Step Clear Stamps

Since today is the 4th Monday of October, I have chosen one of them to feature in today's Let's Make a Scene design:  Forest Toadstools Multi Step Clear Stamps. Because of the size of the toadstools and the cute snail that comes with them, I had little need to use much from any other set. The only thing on this design which is not a part of Forest Toadstools is the grass at the bottom which most of you know I pull from Honey Bunny Multi Step Clear Stamps. One great thing about the toadstool set is it includes a base stamp for each of the three large toadstools which makes joining the cap to the stem so easy when you start to stamp.

I am entering this card in the Stamping Sensations October Challenge - Shades of Autumn.

I stamped all three of the toadstool base stamps first in Memento Desert Sand.

Once these were stamped, I masked the three toadstools and the snail to brush on the background. I then added the baby toadstools and dotted them with spots of white paint. The grass was stamped last and then the sentiment added on top.

My ladybug card uses only images from the Ladybug Hugs Multi Step Clear Stamps set. I stamped the ladybug directly on my designer paper from Simple Stories: Wood and Gingham Basics by the Paper Studio.

Once the ladybug was finished, I added the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black. After attaching the stamped panel to the black and red mat, I tied a double twine bow around it and added a sunflower and die cut leaf. That was then glued to the kraft card front.

This card has been entered in the Sunny Day Crafting October 15 - November 14 Challenge - Always Add an Animal.

This final card for today features the California Quail Multi Step Clear Stamps set. I stamped it using the color recipe which Maria uses on the packaging for this set. I love the colors and wouldn't change a thing if I could! The bird was stamped on an ivory panel and then attached on top of the designer paper which is Botanical News from the Botanicabella Collection by Graphic 45. I then added a fishtail banner across the bird panel with my birthday sentiment.

This card is being entered in the October Birthday Challenge at Always Happy Birthday.
