Inlaid Die Cuts - CCEE1509

It wouldn’t be a month of challenges from Sabrina without a technique challenge! The various ones for “the month of the pearl” were all optional, so here’s a technique challenge pure and simple...or not so simple; it’s up to you.

Create a design where you inlay your die cuts into your creation. I have inlaid my Elizabeth Crafts Designs ladybug into a Sweet 'n Sassy leaf and the leaf into the sentiment panel on my card. The background paper is By the Sea by Graphic 45. The sentiment is from Best Day Ever by Stampin' Up and is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Visit the blogs of the CCEE Design Team members to see their inlaid designs and then pull out your dies to give it a try.

No Coloring - ODBD

Our Daily Bread Design's Shining Light Challenge #228 requires a card with no coloring. I used their Fishing Boat and Fishing Net to create this monochromatic masculine card of encouragement.

Shamrocks and Clover - KSS Monday

It has been a while since I have created cards with Kitchen Sink Stamps Shamrocks & Clover Multi Step Clear Stamps. With Saint Patrick's Day just around the bend, this seems like a good week to pull them out. The 10 minute design uses a shamrock to honor the Irish and the 20 minute design uses the 4-leaf clover.  (Post sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps).

CCEE1508 - Moonstruck

This week's CCEE hostess, Sabrina says, "Interestingly, because February is a short month, there can actually be years in which there is no full moon at all. The last time this happened was 1999, the next time will be 2018. So while this isn’t one of those years - feature the moon on your cards."

Sounds like fun so here goes! I created an anniversary card!

CCEE1507 - Month of the Pearl

This month's CCEE Challenge hostess, Sabrina, shared with us that the Finnish for February is “helmiku”, which means “month of the pearl”. Snow melting on twigs and refreezing as drops has a pearl-like look.

For this week's challenge, we could take it easy and just use pearls/Liquid Pearls on our card, or we could be adventurous and try out some pearl techniques; pull out that old Pearl-Ex or Perfect Pearls!!

For my card, I embossed the butterfly with black embossing powder and then painted it with Pearl-Ex mixed the Future Floor Finish.

Queen for a Day - CCEE1506

A new month brings a new hostess to the CCEE Stampers. For February our challenges will be coming from Sabrina all the way from Ireland. Welcome, Sabrina, and thanks for this fun challenge.

February 6th 1952 was the day Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne. So Sabrina has asked us to create a card featuring crowns or “royal” images. -She says that playing cards could work well for this challenge so I reached for my Graphic 45 All Decked Out paper to use as the focus of my design.

Stamps: Ready 4 Any Holiday by Kitchen Sink Stamps
Papers: Graphic 45 All Decked Out, Recollections Black, SU Real Red
Inks: Memento Lady Bug
Tools: Heart Nestabilities
Embellishments: Crocheted Lace, Jewels, Paper Roses, Red Heart Sticker

Valentine Roses

Today's Valentines focus on romance using roses and rose buds from Kitchen Sink Stamps'
Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps. The bow is from Holly & Mistletoe Multi Step Clear Stamps (Post sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps).

The 10 minute card is a one layer design which I created for Splitcoaststampers CAS310. Their theme this week was love.

10 Minute Card

Paper: Recollections 110 White
Inks: Memento Rhubarb Stalk, Lady Bug, Bamboo Leaves, Olive Grove, and Tuxedo Black

The 20 minute card was created for TLC519 also over at Splitcoaststampers. For the challenge, a section of the front panel is cut out so that the sentiment is stamped on the card base and the stamped panels are popped up above and below it.
