KSS 10 Minute Tie On Tags

For all of you who are looking to take advantage of sensational Cyber Monday specials, Kitchen Sink's Black Friday Sale has been extended through midnight tonight. Use promo code THANKSLYNN at checkout in the Kitchen Sink Store to receive a 35% discount on all purchases. Free shipping with orders totaling $65.

For today's 10 minute tags I used my Spellbinders' Lacy Squares cut from Pure Luxury Paper by Gina K. Designs. The heavy weight of this card stock holds up well for these tie-on tags. I then added some of my favorite holiday images from Kitchen Sink Stamps along with names using the Mix It Up alphabet. Last I attached a pretty fiber or ribbon for tying the tags to my gifts. The tags are 3.25 inches square.

The Hunt Continues.......

As we continue the Paper Temptress/Kitchen Sink Treasure Hunt for the Pot of Gold Giveaway, today the members of the Kitchen Sink Crew are all creating cards and projects for you using beautiful papers from the Paper Temptress St. Patty's KSS Package as well as images from Multi Step Shamrocks & Clover by Kitchen Sink Stamps. At some of the stops, you will find the clues you are looking for to solve the puzzle, at some you will not.

I hope you just happen to have your note pad handy because you will want to add to it "a wish" which is one of today's clues.

My card was created using Paper Temptress' Neenah Green as my card base, and I used my heart Nestabilities to cut 4 hearts from Spring Green Classic Columns(also from Paper Temptress) to create the 4-leaf-clover.

I used a mix of Kitchen Sink images to create the background design. The 4-leaf-clovers are from Kitchen Sink's newly released Shamrocks & Clover Multi Step Clear Stamps which is part of the Treasure Hunt prize! All the words both on the cardfront and the clover leaf are from Multi Step Hanukkah by Kitchen Sink. The tiny dotted heart is from Kitchen Sink's Mix It Up! Clear Stamps.

Stamps: Shamrocks & Clover Multi Step Clear Stamps, Hanukkah Multi Step Clear Stamps, and Mix It Up! Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamp
Papers: Neenah Green and Spring Green Classic Columns from Paper Temptress
Inks: Shamrocks - Layer 1 - Memento Cottage Ivy, Layer 3 - SU Handsome Hunter, love & laughter in the background - Memento New Sprout, tiny hearts - SU Certainly Celery, Sentiment on Clover - Memento Tuxedo Black
Tools: heart Nestabilities
Embellishments: Ribbon, dimensionals, and rhinestone

Remember, you will be searching for clues to a puzzle at each blog along the way. Not all the stops will have a clue, but by March 19, if you have searched carefully, you will have collected all the pieces to the puzzle.

To enter for a chance to win a Special St. Patty's KSS Green Package from Paper Temptress as well as Kitchen Sink Stamps' newly released Multi Step Shamrocks & Clover and two Memento Dew Drops, just assemble the pieces into a St. Patrick's phrase and email it to Patricia at patricia@papertemptress.com before midnight, March 24th.

For additional details, drop by Patricia's Paper Temptress Blog!

There are more clues to be found today so be sure you visit the entire Kitchen Sink Crew!!

Stampin' Out Alzheimer's

Last year, Jen Tapler established the Stampin' Out Alzheimer's event on her blog with one sponsor. Through Jen's hard work and efforts, this year her event has grown to a week long extravaganza with over 40 sponsors and fun challenges of every kind for papercrafters world- wide. A donation of $5 to the Alzheimer's Association is all it takes to become a part of this worthy event.

Kitchen Sink Stamps is so thrilled to be a part of this special community, joining together for this very important cause ... Stampin' Out Alzheimer's.

With Alzheimer's effecting a person's memory and this Monday being Memorial Day, Maria thought a fitting challenge would be remembering those who've touched our hearts.

kss4soa Challenge

"Remembering someone you love" by creating a card, project or scrapbook page ...

* remembering a loved one who is far away
* remembering someone you love depicted at a younger age
* in memory of someone you love

It is not necessary to use Kitchen Sink Stamps to enter this challenge ... but if you would like to, that would be lovely. too!

The deadline for the challenge is May 31 midnight EST. Then one lucky number will be chosen by a random generated number to win .....

"Everything but the Kitchen Sink" - KSS Mystery Box

This box will contain at least one KS stamp set... plus inks, stamping blocks, embellishments, etc. (all things from Kitchen Sink Stamps). The total value of the Mystery Box will be at least $75.00. It could be more ... it's all part of the mystery!

When uploading your creation to the SOA gallery, please be sure to tag your creations with kss4soa so we are sure to include your entry.

For today's challenge, I decided to create an inside-out card to honor the close friendship I have with my sister, Liz! Being only 13 months apart, our mother often dressed us as twins during our early childhood as you can see in these cherished photos. We also always sported the same "do" be it bob, curls, or pony tails! Fun memories!

To create today's card I used:

Stamps: Pansy Multi Step Clear Stamps, Whole Family Clear Stamps,
Other Important People Clear Stamps, and Mix It Up! Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Papers: Riding Hood Red, Certainly Celery, and US White by Stampin' Up, euphoria by BasicGrey

Inks: Riding Hood Red, Cranberry Crisp, Certainly Celery, and Kiwi Kiss by Stampin' Up

Embellishments: Ribbon, Rhinestones, clear atYou Spica pen, Dimensionals

Tools: Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Fern Punch, Mauvy Dimple Corner Punch, Sponge

Today you can see all of the Kitchen Sink Crew samples on the Kitchen Sink Weblog.

Our hope is that something we have created might inspire you to join us in the challenge and become a part of this wonderful event!

Embossed Wax Paper Resist

Today's Technique Challenge at Splitcoaststampers gave me a chance to add another card to the Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge today! The background was created by running a sheet of wax paper through the Cuttlebug using the Congratulations embossing folder. The paper was then ironed onto a sheet of glossy white paper and brayed with Real Red ink by Stampin' Up.

I stamped the mortar board with Basic Gray and Memento Tuxedo Black. The tassel was created by wrapping black DMC floss around a fork and knotting. I cut out the hat, wrapped the end of the tassel around a brad in the center of the hat, and attached it to the card front with dimensionals.

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge #12 - Rolodex

When Maria challenged us this week to alter a rolodex or index card, I began thinking of some way to use the rolodex cards for something a little different. Well, I have a friend whose son is getting married this summer and I decided that his bride might find it handy to have at her fingertips the birthdays of all the members of her new extended family.

I have put names and birthdays on the fronts and mailing addresses on the backs of the cards. Maybe by the time the wedding arrives, I will have all the cards made and dividers for the 12 months of the year!!

I think I'm off to a good start!!

Graduation Invitation

I love this little set from Kitchen Sink! I used it to create a personalized invitation using Sam's school colors and initials.

Gate folds are so easy now that I have my Scor-Pal. Before SP, I could never get them to come out straight!! The Nestabilities circles are glued only on the left so the card opens to share all the important facts! The initials and Class of 2009 were stamped with Black Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

The mortar board was stamped as follows:

1st layer - Basic Gray stamped off once
2nd layer - Basic Gray
3rd layer - Versafine Onyx Black

Tassel

1st layer - Real Read Stamped off once
2nd layer - Real Red

Sam - Real Red

Russian Easter Eggs

Time to share another Kitchen Sink creation this wonderful Monday morning. Today I have chosen to use these stunning Russian Easter Eggs from Kitchen Sink's new release, Nesting Dolls Clear Stamps.
The eggs represent Resurrection and Life.

I love coloring images with my Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol because they always produce such vivid colors. The eggs gave me to opportunity to have fun with my pencils!

After cutting out the eggs, I also coated them with Versamark and clear embossed the surface before adding rhinestones for decoration. The large egg is popped up with dimensionals. I finished off the card with this wonderful paisley ribbon and a sweet black bow!

Ready or Not, Here I Come!

Today's Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge comes to us from Crew Chief Dee Jackson who invites us to "Ring in the New Year!" I think we are all looking forward to better times to come in 2009. May it be a year of health, happiness, and prosperity for each and every one of you!

Nothing could be more perfect for "ringing" than the Kitchen Sink 3 Step Bells. To create this card, I stamped and cut out 4 bells. The bottom bell was glued to the BasicGrey panel and the remaining bells layered over it with dimensionals.

The pattern used on the Pink Pirouette card front was created using a stamp from Playful Ovals. The sentiment and year were created with Mix It Up!

Stamps: Bells Multi Step Clear Stamps  and Mix It Up! Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Papers: Pink Pirouette and US White by Stampin' Up, Two Scoops by BasicGrey

Inks: Apricot Appeal, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, and Pink Pirouette by Stampin' Up, Metallic Gold from Colorbox, Versafine Onyx Black

Embellishments: Ribbon and Dimensionals

Be sure to check out the fabulous ways our Crew Members are "Ringing in the New Year" and then come play along with us!! Post a link to your creation on the Kitchen Sink Page at Paper Craft Planet!

More Fun with Monograms

I am having the most fun with three of my favorite things: Playful Ovals and Mix It Up! by Kitchen Sink Stamps and my oval Nestabilities. They work so well together to created quick and easy monogram cards for many of the people on my Christmas gift-giving list!!

While creating this card, I also happened upon a bow which lays flatter and doesn't have a hard, thick knot at the center. To attach my ribbon, I wrapped it around the front panel and then pulled both ends through a hole punched in the monogrammed oval. Here is the part that is important, do not cross the ends and tie before you make the first loop. Just make the first loop and proceed with the bow. The result is a bow that is softer and flatter and easier to mail without additional postage!

Stamps: Mix It Up! Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Paper: Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla by Stampin' Up

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Sahara Sand by Stampin' Up

Tools: Oval Nestabilities, Crop-a-Dial

Don't forget to check out the Blue Plate Special over at Kitchen Sink Stamps today. It's Wednesday so Maria has a special group of items on sale all day long!!

Monograms

With lots of Christmas gift giving just around the corner, I felt today was a good day to break out my newest Kitchen Sink sets to create some monogram cards for friends and family. The oval frames in Playful Ovals fit perfectly inside the largest ovals in my Nestabilities sets so I knew I was in business!! I chose to use the letters from Mix It Up! to create the monogram.

Kitchen Sink Stamps:

Papers:
Bravo Burgundy and US White by Stampin' Up
sugared by BasicGrey

Embellishments:
