Valentine with Non-Traditional Colors - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card is my final Valentine of the year created using non-traditional colors along with images from Guitar, Heart & Roses, and Sweetheart Daisies (the sentiment).

This is an A2 card with the guitar, roses, and leaves stamped on cut outs made with SVG cut files which are also available from Kitchen Sink Stamps. All inks used are from Altenew with the exception of the sentiment which was stamped with Versafine Clair Pinecone.

I have entered this card in the following challenges this week:

One Cup at a Time - Kitchen Sink Stamps

For this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design, I reached for the Coffee & Friends set, as well as Heart & Roses (which was the very first KSS set I ever purchased way back in 2008). I am never able to start my day without a heavily creamed cup of steaming coffee. It always gets the day off to a good start and sets the tone for tackling the challenges of the day!

Today for the first time, I stamped the coffee cup and saucer twice. Once in reds and once in yellows. I then trimmed the yellow cup off of its saucer and glued it to the top of the red cup and saucer. I like the contrast of color and hope you do, too! The cup and saucer, as well as the rosebud, stem, and leaves  were stamped on cut SVG files also available at Kitchen Sink Stamps. They were then arranged and glued on the speckled pink cardfront. All inks are by Altenew except for the Versafine Clair Pinecone sentiment.

I have entered this card in the following challenges this week:

Hearts and Roses for my Valentine - Kitchen Sink Stamps

I wanted to create a Valentine with a vintage feel using the traditional colors of pink and red with roses, hearts, and lace for today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored card.

I started this 5 x 7 Valentine with the white core pink panel which I embossed with a lacy 3D embossing folder from Crafter's Companion. I then sanded it so that the white would show through on the lace. Next I stamped the roses, rosebuds, stems, and leaves on pre-cut SVG shapes available with Heart & Roses from Kitchen Sink Stamps. After creating my spray of roses and gluing them to the pink panel, I die cut the hearts with my Spellbinders stacking hearts dies and added a sentiment from Love 4 Ducky & Teddy. The hearts were then popped up on dimensionals before I added the satin bow and rhinestone embellishments!

I am entering this card in the following challenges this week:

Color Hues - Color Challenge #56 - Pink and Red

Can You Handle the Pressure - Anything Goes with Dry Embossing and a Twist of Dots

Simon Says: Fabulous Flowers

Creations in Pink - Challenge #54 - Anything Goes in MAINLY PINK

Ladybug Valentine - Kitchen Sink Stamps

My slimline Ladybug Valentine card is this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design. It was created using images from Heart & Roses, Bold Holiday Greetings, Ladybug Hugs ( the word Ladybug), and Giant Sunflower (the ladybug). The background paper was created using the just released Digi Sweet Hearts Printable made to use in foiling.  I do not have the equipment or materials for foiling so I just printed this buffalo plaid heart design on a sheet of red Bazzill cardstock to make a fun designer paper background for my hearts and roses.

Color Recipe for the Roses using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Crimson
Layer 2 Crimson stamped twice
Layer 3 Vineyard Berry
Layer 4 Ruby Red

Color Recipe for the Leaves using Altenew Inks

Layer 1 Shadow Creek
Layer 2 Mountain Pine
Layer 3 Evergreen

My new favorite inks for sentiments are Versafine Clair by Tsukineko. I stamped the word Valentine's on a panel cut using an SVG cut file available from Kitchen Sink Stamps that coordinates with Bold Holiday Greetings using Versafine Clair Tulip Red and then added Happy and Day on top of that using Versafine Claire Nocturne.

I am entering this card in the following challenges this week:

CCEE2010 - Floral Arrangement

For this first CCEE Stampers' challenge of March Maryann Einam, the March CCEE hostess, has asked us to make a card or invitation highlighting a floral arrangement.

Now that spring has returned to Texas, I created my arrangement with the famous Yellow Rose of Texas as well as our state flower, the bluebonnet. I'm hoping the filler flower will bring to mind the Indian Paintbrushes which are currently popping up along Texas roadsides.

Roses for Mother - Kitchen Sink Stamps

For today's Mother's Day card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I knew I wanted to use the beautiful rose and rosebud from Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps.

I wanted to create a swag of flowers to frame the sentiment so I went searching for something to use as filler to add shape and dimension to the spray of roses. I settled on one of the tiny layers of greenery from the Birch Trees Multi Step Clear Stamps to create a pale lavender "baby's breath" type flower and was very pleased with the results. I inked it up with Memento Lulu Lavender and then used an SU Old Olive marked to color the part of the stamp that is a tree branch.

I then went looking for one more element to add more color and texture. For the magenta berries, I used a stem from Shamrocks & Clover Multi Step Clear Stamps and the center from the small blossom in Enchanted Dogwoods Multi Step Clear Stamps. After stamping the center in Memento Lilac Posies, I then used a pencil eraser inked with Lilac Posies and stamped off once before stamping again on top of the berries!  (I am sure you can pick out the one that I forgot to stamp off!)

I finished the card by stenciling a delicate doily by Prima with Milled Lavender Distress Oxide. The sentiment was then stamped with Versafine Onyx Black, and I finished the card with a purple bow on the top corner.

Color Recipe for the Roses

Layer 4 PTI Lovely Lady
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Regal Rose
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Pretty in Pink
Layer 1 PTI Sweet Blush

Color Recipe for the Leaves

Layer 1 Stampin' Up Granny Apple Green
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Old Olive
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Mossy Meadow

The sentiments were pulled from Whole Family Clear Stamps and Words 4 Celebrating stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.

Floral Sympathy Cards - KSS

In recent weeks my sympathy card stash has sadly been depleted so I am using today's blog post sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps to share with you the sympathy cards I have been working on this week. One is going to a sweet friend who just lost her younger sister. Her sister loved the color purple and loved hydrangeas so I incorporated both into my first design.

I generally make my sympathy cards larger than the standard A2 card. Both of today's cards measure 5" x 7" and have a black grosgrain ribbon tied across the bottom.

Kitchen Sink Stamps used to create this card:

Color Recipe for the Hydrangeas

Layer 4 Memento Elderberry
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Gorgeous Grape
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Highland Heather
Layer 1 Memento Lulu Lavender

Color Recipe for the Stems and Leaves

Layer 3 Stampin' Up Old Olive
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Old Olive
Layer 1 Stampin' Up Mossy Meadow

Color Recipe for the Dragonfly

Layer 1 Stampin' Up Gray Granite
Layer 2 Versafine Onyx Black

Sentiment: Versafine Onyx Black

I have entered the hydrangea card in C4C445 - Sympathy or Hope Cards over at Crazy 4 Challenges.

This second card is going into my sympathy stash. For it I used the same layout and sentiment but added sprigs of dogwood blossoms. The two smaller blossoms are cut out and popped up over the background flowers.

Kitchen Sink Stamps used to create this card:

Color Recipe for the Dogwoods

Layer 4 PTI Hibiscus Burst (wiped off the center)
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Flirty Flamingo (wiped off the center)
Layer 2 PTI Sweet Blush

KSS - Mother's Day - 2018

I had a lot of fun creating this Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored Mother's Day card for today. I repurposed  a couple of KSS images to turn them into objects I needed to create this feminine dresser- top still life.

I used part of the watch fob from Father's Pocket Watch Multi Step Clear Stamps to create a chain for a necklace. Then I went in search of a loop to create a closure for the necklace. I found it in one of the rings from Wedding Rings Multi Step Clear Stamps. The rosebuds are, of course, from Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps.  The brooch is from Mother's Cameo Multi Step Clear Stamps. The sentiment is a part of Whole Family Clear Stamps.

After masking the brooch, I added the two rosebuds. I think my mother will like it!

SCS TLC with KSS

The technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers really peaked my interest today. It is called "It's a BANNER Day!" and required that participants include a hand-drawn banner on their design. I thought the long-stemmed roses from Kitchen Sink Stamps' Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps would look sensational  wrapped in the banner. And what could be more beautiful for a precious new baby girl than these delicate pink rosebuds?
The sentiment comes from Kitchen Sink Stamps' Baby Multi Step Clear Stamps

Color Recipe for Stem and Leaves

Layer 1 Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Lucky Limeade
Layer 3 Stampin' Up Mossy Meadow

Color Recipe for the Rosebuds

Layer 4 Stampin' Up Regal Rose stamped twice
Layer 3  Lovely Lady by PaperTrey Ink stamped twice
Layer 2 Stampin' Up Pretty in Pink stamped twice
Layer 1 Memento Angel Pink stamped twice

KSS Valentine Bears

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design is a Valentine's Day card featuring Teddy Bear Wishes Multi Step Clear Stamps and Love 4 Ducky & Teddy Multi Step Clear Stamps. I also added the "I love you" from Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps and a couple of tiny carnations from Get Well Teddy Multi Step Clear Stamps!

I threw in a few die cuts from a set by Sizzix called Photo Props and created the background using cardboard to stamp the heart frame with pink and red paint for these two "beary" cute bears! It was today's technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

I used two toilet paper rolls to create this fringed cardboard heart to stamp the paint background.

I Love You - KSS Valentine

Today's Kitchen Sink Stamps sponsored design is a Valentine card using Carnations Multi Step Clear Stamps and Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps

I stamped the images using my MISTI once on the pink card front and once on a white panel. I then die cut the white panel with a heart die to create the look of the flowers being arranged in a heart-shaped pocket. The heart was then matched up with the stamped images on the pink card front and glued down. I stamped and cut out the two front rosebuds and a few leaves to tuck into the pocket for a little more dimension.

To finish off the design, I pierced the top front edge of the heart pocket and added a sentiment and bow.

It is now ready to go to someone special on Valentine's Day!

I have entered this card in Rubbernecker Stamps' Challenge #26 - Love is in the air!
