KSS - Let's Make a Spring Scene
Another 4th Monday has rolled around which means it's time for another Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. The theme this week is spring! It has arrived early this year in Texas and all the trees are putting on their new leaves blanketing the countryside in green. I am heading out this weekend for a little road trip and will be looking for signs of spring across the state. I will be keeping my eyes peeled to spot some Indian Paintbrushes, Texas Bluebonnets, and Dogwood blossoms! I'll let you know next week what I saw when I return.

CCEE1708 - Tic-Tac-Toe
Our CCEE February hostess, Liz Williams asked the CCEE Stampers to pick from the tic tac toe board below either vertically, horizionally, or diagonally for the elements of our cards this week.
Since the gatefold design with interlocking frame that I made for Monday's post was still on my desk and it was fun and easy to make, I went with the bottom row: Fancy Fold, A Wild Animal, and Wet Embossing.
All the images I used for this card are from Stampin' Up. The chicken wire die is by Sizzix.
You can see in the picture below that the frame is glued to the top of the gatefold and the stamped image is glued to the bottom panel of the gatefold.
And this final photo shows how the closure works. Like I said, fun and easy.

KSS - Fun Fold Monday
Third Monday brings with it another Fun Fold design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. Here in our state, the first bluebonnets of the season are cropping up and in another week or two they will be in full bloom along highways throughout the Texas hill country. Many Texans will be grabbing their cameras, hopping in their cars, and taking to the roads looking for those magical photographic moments that happen each spring in Texas!
Today's card was made from a 5.5 x 11 inch piece of card stock scored at 2.75 inches from both ends to create a basic gate fold with designer paper added on top. I made a die cut frame, cut an oval from its center, and cut a white oval on which to stamp. The top half of the frame was glued to the top of the gate fold. The bottom half of the stamped oval was glued to the bottom gate fold. They slide together and interlock to close the card.
I added a layer of designer paper and a white panel inside and the frame and stamped oval to the front:
And here is what it looks like when the stamped oval in inserted into the frame for closing:

It is a fun and easy card to make yet it still has the WOW factor for the person who receives it.

Peaceful River - KSS Let's Make a Scene
Another second Monday has arrived and along with it a new Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. This is the type of winter scene you would see where I live. We seldom, if ever, see snow on the Texas Gulf Coast, but many trees are bare. With the unseasonably warm winter we have had lately they won't be bare for long. Spring will be arriving in my neck of the woods early this year, I believe!

CCEE1706 - Valentine Colors + Silver
Now is the time to get those last minute Valentines made and mailed. Everyone loves getting a handmade Valentine. Let's make this a color challenge by using red, black, white, and a bonus of glimmer by using silver.
My sweet friend, Shelley, gifted me this fun hedgehog from The Stamps of Life. My oldest granddaughter just got a hedgehog for Christmas, and Shelly knew I would have fun making cards for her with this fun set.
Here are the cards made by the rest of the CCEE Team:

CCEE1705 - Library Lovers Month
In honor of Library Lovers month, hostess Liz Williams has asked the CCEE Stampers to use a reading or book theme for our cards this week.
I have used this sweet reader from Spread Your Wings by Unity and this wonderful sentiment from All Booked Up by PaperTrey Ink. The designer plaid paper is from Sweater Weather by DCWV.

Another Fun Fold with KSS
I am back today with another fun fold card design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. It features images from Butterflies Multi Step Clear Stamps and the sentiment set Words of Comfort & Joy Clear Stamps.
My cut lines are a little wobbly since I couldn't find one of my old Fiskers trimmers and had to use just a ruler and utility knife instead. Here is a drawing of how I cut the front of the card.
And here is what it looks like after it is cut and scored:

CCEE1704 - Snow Season
By now, many of the CCEE Stampers are deep into the snow season (except for those of us who live in Texas or Australia!).....Our hostess, Vicky Gould, has asked to see all occasion cards - thinking of you, get well, hello....any card you can send on a normal day...no birthdays or holidays...and it should have snow on it in one way or another.
Here is what I came up with----

I created this card with images from Whipper Snapper Designs called Catching the Flakes and Free Snow. The designer paper is Be Happy by My Mind's Eye. They were gifted to me by Barb Deichl, who (along with myself) is a member of Christmas Crazy at Splitcoaststampers.

CCEE1703 - Black and Cream
This week our CCEE hostess, Vicky Gould, has requested that we create black and cream (ivory) cards. We could use die cuts, punches, or stamps as long as the cards are black and cream!
My card was created for a very special friend who turned 105 last Saturday! How awesome is that?

New Year - New Direction - KSS
With the beginning of a new year, I thought I would take a break from the 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More designs I have been creating for Kitchen Sink Stamps, and try something new for a bit. That being said, I am going to use 1st, 3rd, and 5th Mondays to create some cards with interesting folds. Many of them have been around for a long time, and I just haven't taken the time to give them a try. Some of them are new to me and may be to you as well.
Today's tri-fold design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps was inspired by my talented and crafty friend, Kim of Katydid Cards. The Pluto card seen in this post from her blog was the inspiration for my KSS New Year's card.
I worked with a 12 inch x 5.5 inch piece of blue cardstock scored at 3", 4.5" , 7.5" and 9". The card folds flat to fit in a 6"x 6" envelope.
