Loving the Tree Friends

I am playing again this week with one of the new stamp sets released last week by Kitchen Sink Stamps. This one is called Tree Friends Multi Step Clear Stamps and includes a fabulous array of scene building images to be used with the KSS Multi Step Trees.

On my 10 minute card, I used the row of grass that is included in the set.

10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More - Bicycle

Thank you so much for dropping by today! I have been so anxious for this day to arrive so that I could share the cards I have created with some of the images from new sets Kitchen Sink Stamps is releasing today!

For this week's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes more cards, I am using Bicycle Multi Step Clear Stamps. This set comes with the bike and flowers for the basket. Also included with the set are six sensational sentiments. I stamped the flowers first, masked them, and then added the bicycle.

10 Minute Card

This is the color recipe used to create both cards:

I stamped the leaves first:
layer 1 - Memento Pistachio
layer 2 - Memento Bamboo Leaves

Flowers
layer 2 - Memento Peanut Brittle
layer 1 - Memento Cantaloupe
layer 3 - Memento Rich Cocoa

Bicycle and Basket
layer 3 - Memento Gray Flannel on the bike and Memento Peanut Brittle on the basket
layer 2 - Memento Gray Flannel on the bike only stamped off once,
clean the stamp then add Memento Toffee Crunch to the basket only
layer 1 - Memento Desert Sand
layer 4 - Memento Tuxedo Black

20 Minutes More Card

With the extra 10 minutes I added a layer of designer background paper from K&Company, burlap accents, and a flower cluster at the corner. The flower punch is from Stampin' Up and the leaf punch from Martha Stewart.

And, of course, I just had to add a little something with Rubber Ducky Multi Step Clear Stamps!  I did a he and she for this card.

In addition to the bicycle and rubber ducky, the other new stamps releasing today include:

and

Head over the the Kitchen Sink Store to get a good look at them all!

10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More - Pumpkin Time!

Well, the pumpkin patch has arrived in our town and what a sight to see! All those pumpkins have inspired me to pull out the Kitchen Sink Stamps Pumpkins Multi Step Clear Stamps to design this week's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More cards.

With 10 minutes, I stamped all three pumpkins in the set directly on the orange card front and then added a carved face and the Happy Halloween sentiment for Ready 4 Any Holiday Clear Stamps. The ink layers on all of today's pumpkins are the same:

Pumpkins
layer 5 - Memento Potter's Clay
layer 4 - Memento Potter's Clay stamped off once
layer 3 - Memento Tangelo
layer 2 - Memento Tangelo
layer 1 - Memento Cantaloupe

Stems
layer 1 - Memento Rich Cocoa
layer 2 - Memento Tuxedo Black

Ten Minute Card

10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More Card

You can really see the pumpkin patch influence in the designer paper I chose to back my harvest pumpkin. It is from a Tim Coffey collection by K&Company. I added a swatch of burlap and a burgundy bow. The sentiment is from KSS Harvest Multi Step Clear Stamps.

I am having fun this week getting samples made for the Kitchen Sink Stamps October 21 release. There are 5 new sets, each one so unique! Here is a little peek at the one I am using for next week's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More Cards.

 What do you think?
Come back next Monday to see the cards I have created with this fabulous new set!

Check in with the rest of the crew!
They may be sharing peeks as well. No telling what you may see!

WOYWW 227

I hope you have found your way here today by way of the What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday blog hop hosted by the delightful Julia Dunnit at Stamping Ground! If not, please head over to her blog and find out what it is all about. You may just want to join in on the fun.

Today you have found me frantically making my lists and checking them twice for my autumn cards workshop this morning. I will go through my boxes one last time to make sure I haven't overlooked some much needed item. The class is held downtown, and I have been known a time or two to have to make a pleading call to my husband to bring down a missing item. And turning him loose to find something in my craft space is not always a good idea. The plan is to get it right the first time today.

There is also still pink debris scattered about for my breast cancer cards for SCS's Hope You Can Cling To Challenges. I did get 13 cards finished and in the mail. Only another 25 or so to go.

Thanks for visiting my space today! I'm looking forward to seeing what you are working on this week!

10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More for HYCCT

I have been hard at work this month creating cards for MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas by playing along with the Hope You Can Cling To challenges at Splitcoaststampers. For today's 10 and 10+ cards I created these two cards using the 3 Step Hydrangea for the Many Colors of Cancer Challenge. The burgundy hydrangeas were created to honor those who battle multiple myeloma and the purple hydrangea for those fighting pancreatic cancer. With the completion of these two cards, I will be shipping out my first dozen cards to MD Anderson this morning for use by cancer patients and their families.

WOYWW 226

Thanks so much for dropping in to see my busy desk this week! I am again taking part in Julia Dunnit's What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and hope you are, too!

October has arrived and with it comes Breast Cancer Awareness throughout the United States. One of the annual cancer events I take part in is Splitcoaststampers' Hope You Can Cling To. The cards made by participants every day in October are mailed to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas to be used by patients and their families.

That is why my desk is an explosion of every pink paper, ribbon, and embellishment I could find and drag out of my stash. I am off to a good start with 4 cards completed today. Three of them are visible on my desk. I hope to have at least 10 finished and in the mail to Houston by Saturday. During last year's event I completed and mailed about 40 cards and hope to best that this year.

Here are the cards finished today:

10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More #143 -- Autumn Blessings

I'm still dreaming about autumn, but with another week of temperatures in the high 90s here on the Texas Gulf Coast, all the colorful leaves I will see anytime soon will be ink stamped on paper!

10 Minute Card
For this card I stamped leaves in various colors using Kitchen Sink Stamps' Big Leaves Multi Step Clear Stamps and my Memento teardrop inks. I added a band of orange burlap ribbon and then popped up a matted circle sentiment. The words came from 3 Step Autumn Squirrel (Autumn) and Ready 4 Any Holiday (blessings).

10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More Card

For this card I used the same stamp sets using the triple stamping method. Three panels of paper (small, medium, and large) were stacked one on top the other and secured with repositionable tape. I then stamped the images as if they were all on one sheet of paper. Next I removed the panels, added a narrow mat cut with deckle scissors and then glued them back together in their original positions. I finished the card with a taffeta bow.

I hope things are cooler where you are and autumn has made its arrival there! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it heads down here to Texas soon!

Don't miss out on the opportunity to see the inspired work from the rest of the crew!!

WOYWW 225

Another Wednesday has arrived so it is time to share what I am working on with deskers the world over in WOYWW 225. If you would like to join in the fun, visit Julia Dunnit's Stamping Ground to get all the details. I am really excited this morning because I have more time than usual to visit the desks of crafters and be inspired by their amazingly creative projects!

This week finds me working ahead a little bit on cards for one of the groups for whom I create. I belong to a Bible study group which has a handful of ladies who, due to illness or age, are unable to attend on a regular basis. We send them a card each month to let them know we are thinking of them and value their friendship. The boy on the swing is going out to them in early October.

At the back of my desk are a few of the other cards I created this week and up front you see one other thing I do while stamping. After I have created my design and don't have to do any more thinking because I am down to the assembly line work of putting together a pile of the same card, I listen to audio books. Currently on my play list is The Pale King  by David Foster Wallace. A great talent gone too soon.

Thank you for looking in on my work this week! I can't wait to see what is on your desk!

Vintage Bride and Groom

I must be honest about this week's Kitchen Sink cards. You all know that on Mondays I usually do a 10 minute card and then another card which takes 20 minutes. Because I was creating for a very special bride, I could not rein myself in and ended up with a 30 minute card. I hope you'll allow me this little fudging just this once!

WOYWW 224

Today I am taking part again in my favorite Wednesday pastime, What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday. This blog hop hosted by Julia Dunnit over at Stamping Ground is a fabulously fun opportunity to peek at desks belonging to talented crafters the world over. I always delight in the inspiration I get from the creative work of talented artists.

This Wednesday finds me with a very messy desk. I guess the "Oh nuts!" card can reflect how I feel about being caught with such clutter and disarray!

I just finished my 7th Christmas card for the 2013 holiday season. It is about time that I kick it into gear if I am going to have cards to mail to family and friends this year.

Also still on my desk is the birthday card created for me by my sweet niece Anita! I love the gorgeous window scene! And I love having family members ( my mother, my sister, and my niece) who share my passion for card making!!

Thanks for visiting my desk this week!! I'll try to have some of this mess cleared out by next week!

Welcoming Autumn

I am so anxious to welcome autumn to Texas. I love the cool crisp days and the colorful fall leaves! With today's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More designs, I am hoping to hurry it along a little! Both of this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps cards were created using Autumn Squirrel Multi Step Clear Stamps. Not only does this set have this delightful squirrel, but there are also acorns in two sizes, two types of leaves, and several fun sentiments!
