KSS 10 Minute Monday - Autumn Surprises

Well, as you can image, after designing almost 100 ten minute designs over the past two years (today's is #92), some of them I don't care much for and some of them, I REALLY like! This one is one of my favorites! I took a few tutorial photos to show you how very quick and easy it is to complete this design.

Before I started stamping, I cut all of my paper. The white card bases are 4.25 x 11 inches. The kraft panels are 3.75 x 5 inches and the white panels for my stamping are 2.25 inch squares. I then stamped  my autumn images. All that was left now was to assemble the cards.

Step 1 - On the back of the kraft panel, lay the stamped image panel where you would like it to be. Using a pencil, put a dot on the kraft panel at each corner of the stamped square.

Step 2 - Using a utility knife and a metal ruler, cut lines from corner to corner.

Step 3 - Working on the back side with the dots, tear off the point of each section. I then erased the dots and gave the edges a good sponging of SU Soft Suede.

Step 4 - Turn the panel to the front and roll the torn edges out.

Step 5 - Tape the stamped image from the back so that it is centered in the rolled frame. It would be easier to tape the image before rolling the edges, but I learned by ruining one of my stamped images that the sponged ink transfers to places where you don't want it to be! One squirrel ended up in the trash!

Now all that was left to do was to stamp a simple sentiment and glue the kraft panel to the front of the card.

Here are my finished cards! I call this set Autumn Surprises. I hope you enjoy them and give this design a try.

Autumn Birthday Wreath

I created this birthday card for a friend using Inkadinkado's new Stamping Gear. I used the inside cogs on the large circle frame and stamped the berry branches first in every 6th cog. I then moved 3 spaces over and stamped the large leaves in every 6th cog. I masked the orange leaves and stamped the green leaves in the gaps left in the design.  I must thank my wonderful daughter-in-law again for this fun birthday gift! I am having such fun playing with it! It is my favorite birthday toy!

I was out and about last week and missed Joanne's reign as Queen for the Day at Splitcoaststampers so when I discovered it today, I wanted to go back and case this beautiful card from her amazing gallery. I had to pull out my stamp-a-ma-jig to try to get those blocks lined up!
