Hall of Fame Dad

I created this card for Clean and Simple Challenge #12 at Splitcoaststampers today. The requirement was to use just a bit of ribbon. Since I was planning on making my Father's Day card today, I felt that a bit was all the ribbon needed for this masculine card.

I used the fabulous 3 Step Baseball set by Kitchen Sink Stamps to create today's card. The mitt and ball were stamped first and then masked to add the baseball bats behind them.

The sentiment is mounted on dimensionals.

Stamps: Baseball Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Papers: White by PaperTrey Ink and Real Red by Stampin' Up

Embellishments: Red Grosgrain Ribbon and Dimensionals

I'm sad to say today that Kitchen Sink is losing one of its fabulous designers. Nicole Cooke is taking some time off to concentrate on her education where she is in the process of acquiring her PhD. Best wishes, Nicole as you focus on reaching this awesome goal!

Happy news today as well!! Three new talented artists are joining ranks with us on the Crew!!

Tassels and Roses

I created this card for the Color Challenge 215 today at Splitcoaststampers.

Because of the space I had available, I stamped the cord from the large tassels from 3 Step Adornments and attached the small tassels to it.
I cut them all out and popped them up on dimensionals.

Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge #12 - Rolodex

When Maria challenged us this week to alter a rolodex or index card, I began thinking of some way to use the rolodex cards for something a little different. Well, I have a friend whose son is getting married this summer and I decided that his bride might find it handy to have at her fingertips the birthdays of all the members of her new extended family.

I have put names and birthdays on the fronts and mailing addresses on the backs of the cards. Maybe by the time the wedding arrives, I will have all the cards made and dividers for the 12 months of the year!!

I think I'm off to a good start!!

Purple and Pink Daisies

Spring has officially arrived in Texas and with it a huge array of beautiful flowers. Although I have had 3 Step Honey Bunny by Kitchen Sink Stamps for some time, this is the first time I have inked this wonderful daisy which comes with that set! This purple daisy was created for the Clean and Simple Challenge at Splitcoaststampers which required a monochromatic card!! A little reminiscent of last week, don't you think??

Stamps: Honey Bunny Multi Step Clear Stamps and Words of Love Clear Stamps
by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Papers: Lovely Lilac, Elegant Eggplant, and US White by Stampin' Up

Inks: Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, and Elegant Eggplant by Stampin' Up

Embellishment: Grosgrain ribbon and Spica Pen

Tools: Nestabilities - Label 2

For my second card, I stamped each blossom in Pink Pirouette on US White panels cut out with my Labels 1 from Nestabilities.

The second layer of each blossom was stamped in Pretty in Pink, the third in Pixie Pink, and the fourth in Pink Passion. I sponged the edge of the Label 1 panel with Close to Cocoa and layered that on the next size Label 1 cut from Pretty in Pink and sponged with Pixie Pink. On the center floral panel I stamped tiny flowers from Hey, Chick! to give it a little more lift from the page.

I dolled the panels up a little with tiny rows of rhinestones and used dimensionals to attach the center floral panel over the back two.

The wonderful sentiment comes from 3 Step Hibiscus also by Kitchen Sink and is stamped with Close to Cocoa.

Graduation Invitation

I love this little set from Kitchen Sink! I used it to create a personalized invitation using Sam's school colors and initials.

Gate folds are so easy now that I have my Scor-Pal. Before SP, I could never get them to come out straight!! The Nestabilities circles are glued only on the left so the card opens to share all the important facts! The initials and Class of 2009 were stamped with Black Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

The mortar board was stamped as follows:

1st layer - Basic Gray stamped off once
2nd layer - Basic Gray
3rd layer - Versafine Onyx Black

Tassel

1st layer - Real Read Stamped off once
2nd layer - Real Red

Sam - Real Red

Stamps: Graduation Multi Step Clear Stamps and Mix It Up! Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, and US White by Stampin' Up

Inks: Real Red, Basic Gray, and Black Craft by Stampin' Up, Versafine Onyx Black

Monochromatic Monday

Today's Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge #11 is brought to us courtesy of our very talented Guest Hostess, Makiko Jones!! Makiko has created some amazing projects using Kitchen Sink Stamps and today has asked us to create a monochromatic card using dimensionals.

I couldn't decide between orange and gray, so I just did both.

I started my orange card by stamping the butterfly from the First Anniversary Special Limited Edition Set, A Year of Thanks 2008 in Tangerine Tango on the card front to create a patterned background to compliment the BasicGrey designer paper. The orange rose was stamped on Naturals Ivory which had been cut with Nestabilities Label 2. The dimensionals were used to hold the label up off the cardfront.

Stamps: Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps, A Year of Thanks 2008 Clear Stamps, and Never a Loss 4 Words Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Papers: Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, and Naturals Ivory by Stampin' Up, ambrosia by BasicGrey

Inks: Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango by Stampin' Up

Embellishments: Ribbon and Dimensionals

Tools: Nestabilities - Labels 2, Sponge

My grey card is a 5 1/2 inch square. I used a black Spica pen to add a little sparkle to the butterfly wings. The dimensionals hold up the sentiment tag.
