KSS 10 Minute Monday - Scattered Inchies

For today's KSS 10 minute challenge, I stamped Kitchen Sink images on three inchies and a KSS sentiment on another. I then matted the inchies and scattered them across my card front. The sentiment inchie was added last and popped up on dimensionals. The outside inchies were hanging off the sides of the card until I whacked them one last time with the papercutter! KSS 10 Minute Monday - Another Overlay

Thank you so much for checking in on today's challenge! This week's 10 Minute Card Challenge is another overlay design. I stamped my Kitchen Sink images and sentiments directly on the card front. The overlay is a 3.75 x 5 inch colored panel which I cut a hole in with my heart Nestabilities and then embossed with my Cuttlebug. The final step in this design is to glue the embossed panel over the stamped images.

Today begins the second year of 10 Minute Card Challenges at Kitchen Sink Stamps! Can you believe it?

I have chosen to create some refrigerator magnets to help me keep my resolutions front and center each time I open the refrigerator. I plan to make better choices about what I eat as well as get more active with my walking and exercising. I got a Wii and Wii Fit Plus from Santa so I can have a little fun as I try to keep on track with my resolutions.

One Layer Reverse Mask 10 Minute Christmas Cards

This week's 10 Minute Card was inspired by this beautiful KSS design created by Julie Masse last week. Her wonderful layers couldn't be completed in 10 minutes so I have created this one layer Christmas version of a reverse masked design.

To achieve this look, I cut a triangle shape in the center of a piece of scrap paper and taped the resulting negative triangle frame to my card front. I then filled in the triangle space with wonderful KSS Christmas images. After removing the mask, I added a gold star and sentiment to complete the cards.

November TUIC Challenge

My final card today was created for Julie's Clean Up Challenge for Tangled Up in Creativity. She asked us to use left over bits and pieces from our desk to create a card for her November challenge.

As you can see, I have used pieces left over from my work on my third card for the SCS CAS design team challenge. You can clearly see a smudgy peppermint on the left and the addition of a third color which I decided to abandon. I really don't like spearmint, anyway! I added a few more layers, and it is going out to someone (possibly visually impaired) for Christmas.

The weeks are flying by fast and furiously so I need to kick up the production of my Christmas cards if I plan to get them in the mail next week. I love all the beautiful Christmas plant images from Kitchen Sink Stamps. What classic beauties! I have used some of them on three of my 10 minute designs this week.

My favorite fast and dramatic background is dry embossing so I included it in this week's challenge. I then stamped a panel of KSS images from edge to edge on the card and matted it with a sentiment panel. I have gotten an early start on my Christmas shopping this year, and I'm ready to start wrapping. Since I am in need of some Christmas tags to mark my packages, I decided to do 10 minute embossed tags for Kitchen Sink 10 Minute Challenge #45. The Cuttlebug adds quick and fun texture to any project. So pull out your favorite embossing folders and some KSS Christmas images and see what you can create. I ran the white Georgia Pacific through my computer to get the to and from printed on the tag. I then rounded the top corners and embossed each tag with a holiday embossing folder.

As you can see above, I started each of today's ten minute cards by cutting two slits in my card front which were 1/2 centimeter larger than my stamped and matted panel. After stamping my Kitchen Sink image panels, I matted them and wove them through the slits and stamped my sentiment on the bridge created over the top of the panel. Quick, easy, and fun!

Before I get to this week's 10 Minute Card Challenge, I wanted to share a card I created for one of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges sponsored by the Dirty Girls at Splitcoaststampers this past week. This particular challenge required that you create a one layer card. Well, nothing is more perfect for one layer cards than the new Seed Packet recently released by Kitchen Sink Stamps.With a little masking and any of the fruit, vegetable, or flower sets by KSS, you can end up with a delightful one layer creation.

Final Cards for Dare to Get Dirty

With these two cards I have completed all of the 37 Dare to Get Dirty Challenges this week at Splitcoaststampers! I don't know what possessed me to plow through all of those, but it was a lot of fun. My husband did get fed but not much cleaning got done around here except for the top of my desk to prepare for the next challenge!! LOL!

These two cards also qualify for the friends of Speedy the Cat's Challenge to create a card which is not the standard 4.25 inches x 5.5 inches. Both of these cards are 5.5 inches square.

Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 Minute Card Challenge #31

I hope you are ready for some more 10 minute fun. This week's design involves stamping your Kitchen Sink images around a circle sentiment tag.

I started each card by sticking a circle I had cut from a Post-It note to the center of the card front. I then stamped my Kitchen Sink images all the way around the mask being sure that each image started on the sticky note as I worked my way around the circle. I then removed the mask and attached the sentiment tag which I had matted in black.

Dare to Get Dirty Week Begins Today at SCS!

The first challenge I have entered in the Dare to Get Dirty Challenge at SCS requires that paint be used on the project. This image by Hampton Arts was painted with SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons. The sentiment is from Big Wish by Verve.

The second one required the use of kraft paper. The images are from Cowboy Hat, Cowboy Boots, and Simple Sentiments by Kitchen Sink Stamps.

And this one required fruit or vegetables. I mixed Multi Step Berries and Seed Packet from Kitchen Sink Stamps!

For the Anything But a Card challenge, I used scraps of designer paper to create this bow and gift tag.

I am in need many birthday cards this week for family and friends so I used SCS Sketch Challenge 343 to get one of them knocked out this morning.

Spotlighting with Kitchen Sink Stamps

For this week's Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 Minute Card Challenge, I thought it would be fun to play with spotlighting. I am loving how these cards turned out! I hope you will give this technique a try with your Kitchen Sink Stamps. If you load some into the KSS gallery, please include keyword 10MC23.

Here is the shortcut method I use for spotlighting which allows you to create this type card so quickly.

Step 1 - Using a tiny bit of repositionable tape, attach a 2.5 inch square of white cardstock to your white card front.

Step 2 - Place a piece of fun foam under your card for cushion, and stamp your image as you normally would.

Step 3 - Remove the 2.5 inch image.

Step 4 - Add the sentiment and attach to a black mat just slightly larger than the stamped image panel.

Step 5 - Reattach to the front of your card lining up the images carefully. I promised you it would be quick and easy!!

This can be done with any size or shape panel you would like to use for your spotlight. Just have fun!!

I'm killing two challenges with one stone today with this card. It was inspired by Mary, aka jandjccc, who was crowned Queen for the Day at Splitcoaststampers in QFTD 63. Her wonderful gallery is filled with beautiful flowers and butterflies!!

Kelly at Southpaw Paper Arts challenged the members of TUIC to create a card with purple flowers so this seems to fill the bill!

The designer paper is wisteria by BasicGrey. The sentiment is from Poppies, Poppies, Poppies which will be released by Mark's Finest Papers on Tuesday, June 7.

Michelle is the new hostess of the Ways to Use It Challenge at Splitcoaststampers and her first assignment for us die-hard challenge chasers was to create a card using die cuts! This is another of the fun Cuttlebug die cuts and embossing folders I snapped up at Big Lots last year on clearance ($2 - can you believe it?)!! The shells and sentiment are from Sand Surf Relax by Mark's Finest Papers which will be released on Tuesday, June 7!

Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 Minute Card Challenge 22

On a usual Kitchen Sink Monday I will post 4 samples for the weekly 10 Minute Card Challenge. There is a reason I post 4 samples instead of 1 - guilt! The rest of the members of the Kitchen Sink Crew each post a beautiful creation they have spent a lot of time designing and executing while I am posting a card that takes ten minutes to build! It just doesn't seem right to me! Since it normally takes me an average of 40 minutes to create a pretty layered card with embellishments, I make four 10 minute cards. Seems only fair to me!

Well, today when I got started on 10 Minute Card Challenge #22, I was having so much fun sorting through my designer paper scraps and matching them to my Kitchen Sink Stamps that I just couldn't stop! So this week you are getting 7 samples!!

For the challenge I cut three squares of designer paper (1.75 inches square) for each card. I then glued them to the card front in a windowpane pattern and stamped a Kitchen Sink image in the place where the fourth windowpane would be. I finished each card with a fun sentiment! I hope this will be something you find useful for creating quick and simple cards with your KSS images. And now on to today's 10 Minute Card Challenge. These one layer cards were created using the emboss resist technique. I selected the most distinctive layer from each KSS set and stamped it on the white card front using Versamark. I then embossed the images with white embossing powder and sponged color over them. SCS Virtual Stamp Night

As time permits, I am playing along with some of the challenges in the ongoing Virtual Stamp Night at Splitcoaststampers! There is a fun pirate theme this month!

The first assignment of the evening was a color challenge: kraft, light green, aqua blue, and yellow. I pulled out this fun Cuttlebug die cut and embossing folder I had snatched up at Big Lots last year for $2. What a steal!! The sentiment is from Blue Skies by Verve.

For this challenge we were to include a boat. Sail Away by Stampin' Up had just been delivered to my door. Perfect timing! The sentiment is from Make a Wish Quotes by Fiskars. I think this will make a nice masculine birthday card.

This challenge required a square card with a colorful bird! I reached for the hummingbird in A Year of Thanks 2008, a retired set from Kitchen Sink Stamps.
