I always love bringing the Christmas tree in from the garage and getting it all dressed up for the holidays!! To decorate this tree I pulled out 5 different Kitchen Sink Sets!! What fun! Button Bugs - Angels Landing

Today is a great day of excitement at Angels Landing! We are going to be blog hopping to see the work created by 16 designers and guest designers using two wonderful new sets being released by Angels Landing today!!

The Blog Hop begins at Judi's Digital Stamps Blog. If you didn't start there, head back now so you don't miss a single thing! Blog Candy is being offered at 4 stops along the way!! The new sets are Polar Bear Cubs and Button Bugs.

I have made my samples using Button Bugs! This set of digital images contains a bee, a butterfly, a ladybug, a dragonfly, and a wonderful array of fun sentiments to tag along behind them. Each bug has space to place one or more buttons in the design!! They are the cutest things ever!!

The bee and many thankzzz were printed on white Georgia Pacific cardstock. The bee was colored using Copic markers with Star Dust Stickles added to the wings. I sponged SU Summer Sun on the edge and layered the card with Summer Sun and Basic Black cardstock from Stampin' Up!

The butterfly was printed on white Georgia Pacific cardstock and also on euphoria by BasicGrey so that I could paper piece the wings. The colored cardstock is Almost Amethyst and Certainly Celery by Stampin' Up. The cardfront was embossed with the Victoria Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.

Christmas Gift Tags

One of my favorite things about working with digital images is the ability to change their size to fit their function. All of the Angels Landing images I used today were sized down to just under 2 inches so that I could use them to create gift tags for my Christmas gift wrapping.

All of my images were printed on white Georgia Pacific cardstock and colored with Copic markers.

I had a delightful weekend getting to stamp with my sister as we prepared for an upcoming stamping workshop and a Christmas craft show. Thanks to her visit, I have exceeded my Christmas card goal for the year. I now have 102 Christmas cards ready for the holiday season, half to use and half to sell.

She was also the inspiration for the above Kitchen Sink card. While I was working on a design to use the new release, Multi Step Build a Garland, she suggested, "Use a real needle and thread!" Thanks, Liz, I did! What do you think?

Let It Snow!

The digital penguin image and digital "Let It Snow" I am using today are a part of the Penguin Chicks set by Judi Maddigan of Angels Landing. I cannot tell a lie!! This is my favorite little penguin of the bunch!! I love his sweet expression and wonderful hat and scarf so it's no surprise that I just had to have another Christmas card featuring him in my 2009 collection (which has reached the grand total of 60, for those who are counting)!

The penguin was printed on white Georgia Pacific cardstock and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits. The snowflake background was created by inking my Cuttlebug Snowflake folder with Bordering Blue ink from Stampin' Up using my brayer. I then added the torn paper ground and the rhinestone flowers. The sentiment and torn edge on the ground have Frosted Lace Stickles added.

The Stampin' Up cardstock used includes Riding Hood Red, Bordering Blue, Whisper White, and So Saffron.

To create the inside of the card I selected this little blue snowflake from Angels Landing's Seasonal Borders and lined it up along the top and bottom of my insert to create this fun snowflake border. I then added the same rhinestone flowers I used on the cardfront. The sentiment is from Snowflakes by Stampin' Up and is stamped in SU Bordering Blue leaving room for a personal holiday message!

My first sample today was created with the Multi Step Christmas Lights mini set! What a value this delightful set is. It includes the 5 layered lightbulb in two sizes as well as the wonderful sentiment! And if you look closely at the above link, you will see that it also includes a small and a tiny one layer lightbulb! How fun!!

I used Garden Green card stock from Stampin' Up and my Meadow Green Bic Mark It to create the sockets and wire for this strand of lights. The card base is white PaperTrey Ink card stock.

Free Standing Pop-Up Christmas Pup

Today members of the Angels Landing Design Team are sharing cards of all kinds! I love this adorable little pup from Ho Ho Hollydays and thought he would look precious on a free standing pop-up card since he is sitting up so sweetly!

I created this card for a friend who loves displaying her cards on her kitchen windowsill. This design is absolutely perfect for that!!

If you have never made a free standing pop-up card, you should give it a try! It really is a simple construction, and it folds flat to fit in an envelope for mailing.

To create this card, I used the wonderful tutorial written by Mary Jo Albright and shared in the resource section of Splitcoaststampers. It's easy to follow with plenty of great step by step photos.

The pup was printed on white Georgia Pacific card stock and colored with Copic markers. I printed him again on BasicGrey designer paper so I could paper piece his Christmas hat. To dress him up for the holidays, I added Fantasy Snow by Delta to the cuff and ball of the hat and a red rhinestone to the holly.

Autumn Sympathy

I am so in love with my new Big Leaves from Kitchen Sink Stamps. It is such fun to layer these gorgeous autumn colors one on top of the other and see what beautiful fall leaves emerge!

For today's sympathy card I stamped the leaves on white card stock from PaperTrey Ink and then added the framed, vellum sentiment from Kitchen Sink's Words of Comfort & Joy over them.

I created this clean and simple holiday card (which happens to be number 30 for those of you who are helping me keep count of my Christmas cards this year) for Trish's EjoyVC7 challenge.

The only requirement was to use a star! This delightful set was part of the door prize I received from spicygingersnap (thank you, Linda!! I love it!) at the 2nd Texas Gulf Coast Shoebox Swap in Brazoria on Saturday. What a fabulous day that was!!

I am hard at work on getting my 2009 Christmas cards ready for mailing and today you get to see card #28. This precious penguin is from Angels Landing's Penguin Chicks released last week. The faux stitching is from Faux Stitched Borders.

The penguin was printed on white Georgia Pacific card stock and colored with Prismacolor Pencils blended with GooGone. The torn snowflake sky is from the Paper Studio and was mounted on a white Papertrey Ink cardfront. The penguin was cut out and popped up with dimensionals.

For a little added bling, I applied Star Dust Stickles to the snowflakes.

I printed the faux stitching on computer paper, laid it over the edge of the card, and pierced it. After discarding the computer paper, I used a red marker to add the faux stitching.

The sentiment from Kitchen Sink Stamps was stamped in SU Real Red.

Christmas Cardinal by Angels Landing

Hello, all and welcome to the October Angels Landing Blog Hop celebrating the release of Judi Maddigan's two new fabulous holiday sets of digital images. Members of the design team have created projects to share with you today from Season's Tweetings and Penguin Chicks.

This cheerful Christmas cardinal is one of the delightful digital images which is a part of the Season's Tweeting collection. I printed him on white Georgia Pacific card stock and colored him with Copic markers. I added red rhinestones for the berries and cut out the image using my Nestabilites Labels 4. The card front and mat are Handsome Hunter from Stampin' Up. The designer paper is Classic Holly by the Paper Studio. The sentiment is computer generated and punched with Stampin' Up punches.

I had fun today playing around with the tiny ears of corn which are part of the Multi Step Harvest set being released by Kitchen Sink Stamps today. I used the colors from Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge 240 to create today's Thanksgiving card.

I stamped the basket first. Masked it and added the corn followed by the bale of hay.

Autumn Splendor - Angels Landing

Down, down, red and brown, the leaves are falling down to the ground. This simple rhyme I used to sing with my kindergarten students comes to mind as fall begins to arrive in Texas. I love the bold colors and loud crunch of the fallen leaves of autumn. I tried to capture the essence of the season with color and texture today.

This sweet bird is a digital image from Angels Landing's Autumn Tweetings. I printed the image on Stampin' Up's Naturals Ivory card stock and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils blended with odorless mineral spirits.

For texture, I used my new Cuttlebug Victoria Embossing Folder, Prima Flowers, Ribbon, and Martha Stewart punched fern.
