KSS - Ladybug Parade

The 4th Monday of the month brings with it another Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. For this cheerful birthday card, I stamped the two sunflowers from Giant Sunflower Multi Step Clear Stamps first and then the stems and leaves. I next placed masks over the flowers and leaves and laid a lattice stencil over the top. Then it was safe to sponge the grassy background and the sky. After removing the stencil and the masks, I added the four ladybugs. Finally after matting it and mounting it to the card front, I added the Happy Birthday sentiment from Whole Family Clear Stamps with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

CCEE1734 - Watercolor Background

CCEE hostess, Anne Harmon, has taken it easy on us this week. Her only request for this week's CCEE Stampers Challenge is to create a watercolor background for our cards. The rest is up to us.

I used my distress oxide inks and lots of water to create my background for today's design!

The image is from UNITY.

KSS Monday - Bold Birthday

For today's post sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I have made a bold and bright birthday design. The new Distress Oxide Inks by Ranger are so much fun to work with. They make great backgrounds and pair so perfectly with KSS' Big & Bold Swashes Clear Stamps and Make a Big Statement Clear Stamps. For this card, I created an emboss resist background by embossing the swashes in black before adding the Distress Oxides over them.

CCEE1733 - Nautical Cards

As the summer draws to a close, our CCEE hostess, Anne Harmon has asked that we make a card with a nautical theme.  She said we could include the beach if we want.

LMS - Palms on the Beach - KSS

For this week's Let's Make a Scene design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I have returned to one of my favorite places---the beach. Could there be a more perfect way to end the summer? I don't think so!! I think it will be a great masculine birthday with it's seaside theme and tall design.

Images for this design came from the following Kitchen Sink sets:

CCEE1732 - Insects

This week the topic is insects.  Anne's challenge to the CCEE Stampers is to make a card using bees, dragonflies, any kind of insect.  She said to be sure to add some stickles to their wings (if they have wings!), but I forgot! Ooops! Sorry, Anne!

The sentiment is from Unity.
The ladybug dies are from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
The branch and leaves are Sizzix dies.

August COF - Life's Simple Pleasures

For today's design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, I have created a card for the Crafters of Faith Challenge. The Crafters of Faith is a group of wonderful Christian ladies who have joined together over on Splitcoaststampers in this faith-based group. Our mission is to encourage each other, chat with each other, lift each other up, pray for each other, and craft together with scripture as our focus.

August is my month to serve as hostess of this challenge,  and I have chosen as this month's scripture James 1:17 --- Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. I have encouraged the Crafters of Faith this month to celebrate life's simple pleasures which bless our days with joy and beauty and meaning in the cards they create.

The images from these Kitchen Sink sets were used to create this card:

CCEE1730 - Emboss It!

Anne Harmon is our CCEE hostess for the month of August. For her first challenge, she has asked the CCEE Stampers to use any technique that involves embossing - wet, dry, resist - whatever floats our boats! So I did a little dry embossing on the background and wet embossing on my sentiment! The sentiments and die cut are both from Altenew.

Head on over and see the rest of the embossed beauties
