Come to Bethlehem

The main image on this Christmas card comes from one of my favorite holiday sets from Stampin' Up called Come to Bethlehem. I just finished my last dozen holiday cards for 2016 using this design. The star is from Stampendous! and the sentiment is from Good Cheer by Technique Tuesday. With a little sponging, it came together quickly and easily. One dozen done in one hour.

Let's Make an Icy Scene! - KSS

Today I am sharing my last Christmas scene for 2016. I had such fun creating this icy holiday design sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps using images from Snowy Cabin Multi Step Clear StampsIcy Pond Multi Step Clear Stamps, Rolling Hills Multi Step Clear Stamps, Snowy Pine Trees Multi Step Clear Stamps, and Playful Christmas 1 Clear Stamps. We Texans don't get to experience this type of "cold" where we live. It sure looks like fun, but at my age I think it would only mean broken bones!

I am entering today's design in the Mod Squad Challenge Blog's Trees and Snow Challenge.

Poppy Girl - Unity

I am trying to be more faithful in sending snail mail to my two college age granddaughters this year, and I have found a stamp line that is perfect in helping me with that goal. I have started collecting images from the Angie Girls by Unity. The images are of strong, beautiful young women and the sentiments are encouraging and filled with truth.

CCEE1647 - Pins and Needles

For her last week as CCEE hostess for the month of November, Frances tells us, "Sunday 27th November is Pins and Needles Day which commemorates the opening of a historical Broadway Play called Pins and Needles in 1937.

This week let's create cards with a sewing theme, using either stamps, dies,  papers, buttons, pins, needles or any combination of the above."

I think this will make a fun birthday card for one of my sewing friends!

CCEE 1646 - Bears

Frances informed the CCEE Stampers that yesterday was "Have a Party with Your Bear Day". So to celebrate, she has challenged us to feature bears on our cards this week.

I am still catching up on Christmas cards so I will have enough to mail on December 1. Can you believe that December is almost here?

Origami Day

November 11 is Origami Day!  Our CCEE Hostess, Frances Byrne, has asked the CCEE Stampers to include something origami on our cards this week. It could be a folded shirt, dress, crane, a folded box whatever you like.

Since I am playing catch up on Christmas cards this year, I have folded a 5 pointed star to use as the focus of this holiday card.

Autumn Birthday - Kitchen Sink Stamps

Autumn birthdays were on my mind as I designed this week's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More cards sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I let the giant sunflower stamped in shades of red be the focus of this spray of autumn leaves and berries. For the 10 minute card I stamped directly on a kraft panel using masking. For the 20 minute design I stamped the leaves and sunflower on a separate white panel and cut them out to pop up over the stamped branch and berries with a little twine and burlap embellishment.

Kitchen Sink Stamps used for these cards include:

Giant Sunflower Multi Step Clear Stamps
Owl & Autumn Moon Multi Step Clear Stamps
Autumn Squirrel Multi Step Clear Stamps
Harvest Multi Step Clear Stamps
Simple Sentiments Clear Stamps

The berries were stamped with a pencil eraser.

I have entered the 20 minute card in the following challenges:

CCEE 1644 - Wobbly Wednesday

It's a brand new month which means it is time to introduce Frances Byrne, our CCEE challenge hostess for November.

For our first challenge this month, Frances tells us that the 2nd of November was Wobbly Wednesday, a day set aside to bring awareness to a condition called Nystagmus, a non-stop and uncontrolled movement of the eyes which is symptomatic of problems with the visual system of the brain and body.

So the challenge this week is to put some wobble in our designs.

CCEE1642 - One Layer Card

The challenge this week at CCEE Stampers is to create a one layer card. I am currently in Christmas card mode as I prepare sets of cards for an upcoming charity auction.

This design came together pretty quickly and easily. The images are from Ornamental Pine and Merry Little Christmas by Stampin' Up. I stamped the pine needles with Memento Olive Grove and the cones were stamped double, first with Memento Rich Cocoa followed with Memento Potter's Clay. I then sponged the edge all around with Memento Bamboo Leaves and then the cones with Stampin' Up Soft Suede. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and then embossed in gold. As a final touch, I dabbed Indian Gold Nuvo Embellishment Mousse around the outside edge.
