CCEE1540 - Blocks

October is here and along with it we welcome a new CCEE hostess, Maryann. She will be our hostess for the next five weeks and has asked the team to step back in time and remember their childhood toys. This week we were to create a card that resembles a child's toy blocks stacked high.

LMS - Swan Lake

It's 2nd Monday and time for another Let's Make a Scene card sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I am excitedly waiting to catch a whiff of autumn in the air here on the Texas Gulf Coast. It hasn't happened yet, but I am anxiously looking forward to fall's arrival as you can see in today's design.

Today's scene was created using Memento Dandelion, Peanut Brittle and Morocco for the autumn leaves of the Birch Trees Multi Step Clear Stamps. The trunks were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and Toffee Crunch. The lake is from Cabin by the Lake Multi Step Clear Stamps and stamped with Memento Summer Sky. The swan comes from the Love Birds Multi Step Clear Stamps set. Thinking of you is a part of Words of Love Clear Stamps. The die cut fence is from Impression Obsession.

Faux Embedding - CCEE1537

It's Thursday, CCEE Stampers challenge day.   Lois is our hostess for the month of September.   She has asked us to make a card using a technique we have learned and want to share to honor Swap Ideas Day.

Mine is super easy. I call this technique faux embedding because I cut and assemble the card front and then emboss last. It makes the die cuts look embedded even though they aren't.

Verse and Die Cut Leaves are by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
The embossing folder is from the Paper Studio.

KSS - 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More Plus a Bonus Sea Scene

Today's Let's Make a Scene card, sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps, is a non-traditional Christmas card I made for friends who always travel to warm, coastal places to spend the holidays. Here in Texas there are years when they don't have to travel far at all!

CCEE1536 - C.I.T.Y.

Lois, our hostess for this month's CCEE challenges is celebrating her birthday today. Happy Birthday, Lois!

It also happens to be the birthday of Louis H. Sullivan (born Sept. 3, 1856), an architect credited with designing the first skyscraper.  Today's challenge is a Word Play challenge.  She asked that we include on our cards something that starts with each of the letters in CITY.

So I chose a carnation for C, ink for I, a tag for T, and the color yellow for Y.
