Universal Children's Day - CCEE 1547

Tomorrow is Universal Children's Day. Frances, our November CCEE hostess, has asked that we create a card featuring a child having fun of some type.

When I was a child, the most fun I had involved trips to the library where I loaded up on books which took me on amazing adventures all over the world! What a blessing reading has been to my life! So much so that my life's work was teaching children to read by sharing my love for books with them. I never taught from a basal reader, but always from the amazing world of children's literature! Hopefully, that love for reading has served them well.

  2. Great stamp choice! I am a book-a-holic myself... Hoping to step away from the books more and get back into my stamping.. creativity has been returning with the holidays. :)

  3. Wonderful card invoking wonderful memories. In the summer, my best friend would grab her little red wagon and we'd head off to the library...we were allowed to check out 20 books and home we'd go and read them all and then go back and get more. That was a long time ago when kids could walk the streets safely! Happy times...thanks for the memories!

  4. OMG, that was me (and my kids), loading up on books! I used to beg my mother to stay in and read, instead of going out to play!! I love that image, and your card is wonderful!!

  5. Great sentiment, and I love that image. We too used to go to the local library every week; in fact, we belonged to another one also which had quite a different range of books but we didn't get there as often. I still go every couple of weeks, though it's much harder to find reading time nowadays, alas. What a great card for the challenge.

  6. What a wonderful card -- with lots of memories of my childhood also. BUT I used to climb the tree and read the book!

  11. I have always admired that stamp set from Paperptrey but never bought it. Now you've got me drooling over it! You did such a beautiful job with this card...beautiful choice of color, paper and placement!

I am an avid reader and am at my happiest when I'm crafting or reading. I was just reading somewhere a woman was getting reading to help with the school book fair and I remembered back, though it was l-o-n-g ago how excited I would get when the book fair arrived. And the library was always my favorite place to go...thanks for bringing back such wonderful memories with your card!
