CCEE1426 - Sunglasses

Anne has a fun challenge for us this week over at CCEE Stampers  so pull out your sunglasses. I knew I had this fabulous pig in sunglasses from All Night Media, Inc. Because it had been in my collection since 1980, it took me quite a while to track it down. The fence was made with Hardwood by Stampin' Up and the tree was stamped with images from Multi Step Trees by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I used Sweet 'n Sassy's grass die cut across the bottom of the card. The sentiment was computer generated.

Visit the CCEE Design Team to see the fabulously fun designs they have created with sunglasses this week! Then pull out your sunglasses stamps and design a card to add to the challenge!

Thank you for visiting me today!  Please leave me a comment so I can come and visit you!!

Green Leaves of Summer

Although I almost always pull out my Kitchen Sink Stamps Big Leaves Multi Step Clear Stamps to use for brightly colored autumn leaves, I have chosen it for today's Kitchen Sink Monday designs. With the much needed rain we received earlier in June, the greens of the trees in my neck of the woods are just glorious! So today, the leaves are all green!  (Post sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps).

10 Minute Card

Papers: Recollections White, Stampin' Up Certainly Celery and Garden Green
Ink Layers on Leaf: 4 Memento Cottage Ivy, 3 Memento Bamboo Leaves,
2 Memento Pistachio, 1 Memento New Sprout

20 Minute Card
For this card I tried a technique that my sister has been using so beautifully during the last several weeks to create the background for my leaves. I inked the raised side of my Cuttlebug embossing folder with Memento New Sprout, spritzed it with water, and then closed it over my white panel. I then stamped the leaves and sentiment over it.

Our Daily Bread Designs - One Layer Card

Today's card was created for Our Daily Bread Designs Single Layer Card Challenge 207. The card was created with Recollections White 110 paper. I masked the bottom portion of the card and sponged it with SU Going Grey before stamping the ODBD fishing net over it with Memento Espresso Truffle. I then embossed the gray portion of the card with my Paper Studio brick wall embossing folder and sponged over the bricks once more with SU Smokey Slate.

The ODBD fishing boat and sentiment were stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle before the sun and sky were sponged with SU Crisp Cantaloupe and Melon Mambo. The water was sponged with SU Marina Mist.

CCEE 1425 - White

The CCEE challenge this week is to create a white-on-white card. I pulled out my Tim Holtz Umbrella Man and Bird Branch dies as the basis for my design. I used dimensionals to attach Umbrella Man to the embossed stripes at the bottom of the card. To represent an upturn in fortune, I have it raining flowers which were created with a Martha Stewart punch and embellished with clear crystals. The sentiment is from Words to the Rescue (Encouragement) by Steve Fadie and stamped with Memento Gray Flannel.

Please take the time to visit the rest of the CCEE Designers to see their gorgeous white designs, and I hope you are inspired to play along with week!

To the Sea - KSS Monday

With summer in full swing here on the Texas Gulf Coast, I am getting antsy to get down to the gulf to do a little beachcombing. I can feel a sunset on the beach in my near future! Until then I will be content creating a little sand and surf with some of my favorite Kitchen Sink images. Today's image come from Sea Shells Multi Step Clear Stamps and Multi Step Lighthouse.  (Post sponsored by Kitchen Sink Stamps).

CCEE1424 - Roses

Challenge 1424 this week at CCEE Stampers is to use roses! If you say roses to me, everyone knows I am going to be pulling out my long loved and well used KSS Heart & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps. To be honest, I am actually on my second set. The first set was so deeply stained with inks after 5 years of use that I could no longer see through them to line them up properly. I've learned my lesson and my 2nd set never touches any ink but Memento. I've been using this set for a year now and it is still as clear as the day I got it!

My Christmas card today was created by stamping the roses first and then masking them to add the leaves. I then added masks to the leaves to add the pines ( from KSS Build a Garland Multi Step Clear Stamps). The sentiment is from Verve's Peace on Earth.

Be sure to check out the gorgeous roses the rest of the CCEE Team have stamped for you today!

CCEE 1423 - Money or Green

Stamp along with the CCEE Stampers this week using either money or green to create your card for Challenge 1423. I really enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful creations for last week's challenge and look forward to seeing your work again this week!

Now that we have finally gotten a few inches of rain here on the Texas Gulf Coast, everything is beginning to turn the prettiest shades of green. So I am sending a little bit of Texas green to California for the birthday of a very dear friend! I hope she likes it!
