WOYWW 221

If this is Wednesday, that means it's time for another trip to look in on clean and cluttered desks of crafters around the globe over at Julia Dunnit's Stamping Ground!

Thank you so much to each one of you who have taken the time to drop by and check out my desk!

The word of the week for me is "masculine." My supply of guy cards is running low, and I need to mail out six tomorrow. I reached for my KSS lighthouse and old truck and TH's umbrella man.

With the lighthouse, I was using reinkers and alcohol to create a blotchy sea. I started out masking the lighthouse and island, but found I did better without the mask so in the trash it went.

Here is what my cards look like finished! I'm a pretty clean and simple girl so most of my work is unembellished and flat for mailing ease.

Swing, Batter!

For this week's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More Kitchen Sink designs, I decided to create some baseball swing cards. They are so quick and easy with the Sizzix Flip It dies. This one is the Majestic. All the images and sentiments on both cards are from Baseball Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps.

WOYWW 220

Welcome to What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday #220! If you would like to find out what it is all about and join in on the fun, head over the Julia Dunnit's Stamping Ground and find out all the details!

You have caught me this week working on some new color recipes for some of my layered fruit images. You can see to the right near the pencil, the four layers of the pear on acrylic blocks. I personally stamp the images in reverse order (4-3-2-1) which makes lining them up a breeze.

I keep these recipe cards so that I can repeat a look without having to do a lot of experimenting with colors to get the look I want on any given project.

Here is one of the cards I taught at my class last week which uses the KSS Multi Step Pear.

And here is more layered fruit!

Thank you so much for dropping by to visit me and check out my desk this Wednesday!!
I look forward to seeing what you have been up to!!!

WOYWW 219

I will be off desk hopping around the world with fellow crafters at Julia Dunnit's Stamping Ground for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday #219 later this morning. What a fun time!

What you see on my desk today is the final card of 5 that I will be teaching at a card class later this morning. I don't know why I always wait until the last minute to finish and pack up my supply boxes. I still have to bag up all the parts and get them in everyone's packet of supplies before heading to the class.

I am most excited this week about finally tracking down this Martha Stewart punch. It is my favorite and I have already broken two by punching heavyweight card stock. My bad! It took me so long to find a replacement this time that I will not ever be punching card stock in it again. It will be lightweight designer papers only from now on!

When I get back from class later today, I will head out to visit fellow crafters of all kinds! I always look forward to my desk hopping on Wednesday!

Thank you so much for dropping in to peek at my desk this week!

Sweet Fruits of Summer

I created this quick and fun layout for a CAS design I made for another challenge this past week and realized that it would be perfect for this week's 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More Design for Kitchen Sink Stamps. One of the fabulous things about summers in Texas is all the luscious fresh fruits available at the grocery store! I let them be my inspiration for today's cards!

Stamps: Cherries Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps
Papers: Whisper White, Glorious Green, and Poppy Parade by Stampin' Up

Leaves - 1 Memento Cottage Ivy stamped off once, 2 and 3 Memento Cottage Ivy

10 Minutes More Card

With the extra 10 minutes I added a decorative mat behind the pear, used Versamark to stamp cherries on the red cardstock, and clear embossed the pear and leaf.

WOYWW 218

Another Wednesday has rolled around so that means it's time to visit Julia Dunnit over at Stamping Ground for another round of What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday.

This week you can see I am busy getting together thank you notes to deliver tomorrow to a friend who is in the hospital. I know she will want to thank her friends who help and encourage her during her recovery. So far I have three of the twelve cards completed. I just have to glue on the leaves and flowers and the rest will be done.

This week I aimed my camera to the right of my desk where you see two spinning racks which hold my inks and punches. The back rack I purchased from my local scrapbook store which closed and the other one is from a Hallmark store which closed. I'm sad that the stores are gone, but my racks certainly make my crafting easier with so much of what I need so close at hand!

Thanks for your visit! I look forward to seeing what you are working on this week!

Thinking About Christmas

Good morning, and thanks for dropping by today!

I usually have a good start on my Christmas cards for the holiday season by this time, but I only have a handful of cards ready for this year. In my family, we have a couple of holiday traditions which take up most of my crafting time in December. I won't go into detail about that today, but between the two projects it means about 78 scrapbook pages for me to complete. If I don't have Christmas cards finished and addressed by Thanksgiving, I will be up a creek without a paddle.

So today for Kitchen Sink Stamps 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes more designs I have created Christmas cards using Gift Multi Step Clear Stamps. It is a great set for birthday cards and Christmas cards, as well. Now I only need about 50 more Christmas cards!

10 Minutes More Card

For this card I stamped the bow a second time, cut it out, and popped it up on top of the package. I also added a fleur de lis frame and a pretty jewel to dress up the package.
