10 Minutes + 10 Minutes More Sunflower

The focus this week falls of the beautiful Kitchen Sink Sunflower. With only 10 minutes to work, I created a single layer design by masking the card front to stamp the plaid background. Once I removed the masks, I stamped the sunflower right over the plaid. The stamped I used on it include Giant Sunflower Multi Step Clear StampsLilac Multi Step Clear Stamps (stem), Plaid Plus! Clear Stamps, and Simple Sentiments Clear Stamps.

With the additional 10 minutes for the second card, I stamped the plaid on a separate panel which I then placed with repositional adhesive to the card front so I could stamp the sunflower. I then removed the panel and added a green layer and a brown layer with a punched edge. With the remaining time, I stamped the ladybug climbing up the stem and a grass border ( from Honey Bunny Multi Step Clear Stamps) along the bottom. Finally I added a little yellow Stickles to some of the sunflower petals for interest.

This is the order in which I stamped the layers on the sunflower and the inks I used:

Layer 3 - Memento Tangelo
Layer 2 - Memento Cantaloupe
Layer 1 - Memento Dandelion
Layer 4 - Memento Rich Cocoa
Layer 5 - Memento Espresso Truffle

Stem, Leaves, and Grass - Memento Bamboo Leaves and Northern Pines stamped off once

Lady Bug
Layer 3 Memento Tuxedo Black
Layer 2 Memento Lady Bug
Layer 1 Memento Lady Bug

SCS Queen Jill

Congratulations to Jill, aka JD from PAUSA, who has been named Queen for the Day at Splitcoaststampers this week. Being a coastal girl, I love scenes of the sea! I was inspired by her gorgeous ODB creation seen here.

I have substituted The Sea by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and added shells I cut from my K & Company designer paper.

10 + 10 Butterflies

For today's 10 Minutes + 10 Minutes More designs, I have pulled my Butterflies Multi Step Clear Stamps out of my KSS tubs. I also used Simple Sentiments on each of the cards.

The color recipe for both butterflies includes Memento Tuxedo Black on layer 3, Memento Teal Zeal on layer 2, and Memento New Sprout on layer 1. The papers used for these cards are Stampin' Up Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, and Basic Black.

10 Minute Card

10 Minutes + 10 Minutes More

With my extra 10 minutes, I masked the butterfly and stamped layer one of the fern from Big Leaves Multi Step Clear Stamps around the butterfly. I then added Black Diamond Stickles to the black layer of the butterfly. After sponging SU Bermuda Bay ink around the edges of the card, I stamped some splotches from Friends of the Moon Clear Stamps. Finally I punched out the sentiment with a circle punch and added a black mat before trimming it flush with the edge of the card.

10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More

It has been well over two years now that I have been posting a 10 minute Kitchen Sink design with 4 samples every single Monday. Simple and quick cards are my very favorite cards to create, but sometimes I like going a little farther and adding a frill or two when I am creating for a very special occasion. So with Maria's permission, beginning today the Monday 10 Minute Design with become the 10 Minutes and 10 Minutes More.

With Mother's Day coming up on Sunday, I have chosen it as the theme for this week's cards.

Both cards are created with Hearts & Roses Multi Step Clear Stamps and Whole Family Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps. The papers used included Pure Luxury White by Gina K. Designs, Elegant Eggplant by Stampin' Up, and eva by BasicGrey.

Color Recipe for the Roses:

Layer 3 SU Elegant Eggplant stamped off once, Layer 2 Memento Lulu Lavender, Layer 1 Memento Lulu Lavender stamped off once, and Layer 4 SU Elegant Eggplant
