10 Minute Lilies

I'm sure you knew that with Easter coming up this weekend, I would be saving Kitchen Sink Stamps' beautiful Lilies Multi Step Clear Stamps for this week's 10 minute designs.

For this first card, I attached a cross shaped mask to the front of my card and then sponged the sky and ground around it. After removing the mask, I stamped the two lilies and then added the computer generated sentiment tag.

Blue on Blue Birthday

Zella has invited the members of Tangled Up in Creativity to take part in a challenge this month which involves creating a card with an old uninked stamp and a long forgotten embellishment. The card then needs to be mailed to someone you don't usually send cards to.

The stamp is from a Unity set called Insightful Meadows which I purchased three or four years ago which contains pretty silhouettes. I don't think I have ever inked this tall one. The trim is from the stash I purchased when the JoAnn's in my town was closing. The card is going to an old friend I think about often, but have not contacted in a few years.

I used the colors from SCS Color Challenge 418.

Thanks, Zella, for this fun challenge!!

10 Minute Hibiscus

I continue my spring stroll through the beautiful Kitchen Sink flowers by focusing my attention this week on the Hibiscus. Hibiscus plants are showing up in all the garden centers here reminding me I need to purchase and plant a new one to replace the one I lost to a freeze year before last. I miss these happy, colorful blossoms in the corner of my yard.

Texas Bluebonnets

This week Texas families are hitting the highways as they set out to celebrate spring break. As they do, many will be keeping their eyes peeled for a sight of the first bluebonnets of the season. Bluebonnets are the state flower of Texas, and they beautify the highways of the Texas hill country for about eight weeks every spring.

In their honor today, I am featuring the Texas bluebonnet which Maria, owner and creator of Kitchen Sink Stamps, designed specifically for a Texas workshop she did in Pearland a couple of years ago to introduce Texans to her multi layered stamps. She also created her Cowboy Hat, Cowboy Boots, and Texas Longhorn for that wonderful event.

Here are the 10 minute designs I created with Bluebonnets Multi Step Clear Stamps.

Do a Texas Bluebonnet search on Pinterest or Google Images and see what we get to experience here in Texas each spring!

Jesus Paid It All - SNSS

I've been playing with my newest stamp set (it won't be for long since I just ordered more on Friday) from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I have been working on Easter cards using Jesus Paid It All which also has a matching die.

I made a dozen of the last clean and simple design in under an hour for use in the card ministry at my church.

Beginning Crochet

Mary-Kate's wonderful needlework has inspired me to share what I have been up to lately. A dear friend has started a Tapestry Prayer Shawl Ministry at our church and has taken me under her wing to try and teach me how to crochet.

My first shawl was created using the Basket Weave design. It was created with Charisma thread by Loops & Threads.

My second shawl is a slight variation on the Basket Weave that ends up with stripes. For it I used Impeccable by Loops & Threads.

I am having a lot of fun, but have much to learn!!

My first card is a case of Sue Nelson's beautiful Floral Sympathy. Sue is the Featured Stamper at Splitcoaststampers this week. I also used the colors from Clean and Simple Challenge 210.
