What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday - 216

Today is my first day to play What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday. I found it last week on Danie's blog and had such fun visiting the blogs of those who played along. The object is to show your workdesk on Wednesday and explain what it going on there.

I just received a new shipment from Stampin' Up and am busy unmounting the rubber from the wheels I purchased.  I cut the jumbo wheel called Birthday Candles into pieces, some to keep and some to share. I used the scotch tape to mask the rubber from left to right as I inked each candle a different color.

The bins in the upper left hold cardstock scraps. The white bin to the right of my scrap bins contains my clean sponges. I never seem to have enough of those. As I use them, they are put in a mesh bag and thrown in the wash with the blue jeans.

The tower behind my Ott light holds my Copic markers and Prisma Color Pencils.

An interesting fact about my desk is that it was built by my great grandfather as a library table around 1920. He was a German woodcrafter who came to America through Ellis Island around 1905. Although he died before I was born, I am the proud owner of three of his furniture pieces.

Here's the finished card using the birthday candles! Irene and Liz, the rest of the candles are headed your way!

Stamps: Birthday Candles by Stampin' Up
Make a Wish Quotes by Fiskers
Papers: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise by Stampin' Up
Inks: Memento Rose Bud, Cantaloupe, Lilac Posies, Tangelo, Bahama Blue, and Danelion
Embellishment: Ribbon and Stickles

  3. Lynn I am so pleased you have joined in the fun of WOYWW, and I am so thrilled to be reading about and seeing where you create your beautiful cards from. What a wonderful treasure you desk is and it definitely looks of sturdy construction and that it is holding up well. Thanks to for the idea of removing the images from your SU Wheels and creating stamps. That's so clever and I have a few I may just have to do this too! Loving your bright Birthday Card too! Happy WOYWW! Danie xx

  4. Welcome to WOYWW, I haven't been here more than a few weeks and I think I am addicted now. I love your desk, and what a great history. I can 'never' find a clean sponge, well I can never find a sponge - what a great idea, must get some and do the same how very organised.

  6. Hi! I love that your desk is from your grandfather! Those are the special pieces. The history and the living they have seen! My couch belonged to my late MIL and my late hubby loved it, so I don't think I will part with it. I Love that box filled with sponges, I would be happy to have one like that! Your card is lovely, the colors and the candles are perfect. Thanks so much for the visit today! Enjoy the week! Winnie#82

  11. Oh be still my heart - what a fabulous story about your desk...I love that rich heritage for you! Welcome to WOYWW. Already you are inspiring and informing - great idea about the sponges..now to fins me a decent net bag. Those drawers with the tilt forward opening are such a good idea for desktop use - means you haven't got to move everything just to open one..genius!
