Something Old, Something New

Sweet Dawn Mercedes, Tangled Up in Creativity member and Senior Designer for Mark's Finest Papers has been crowned Queen for the Day at Splitcoaststampers. She is also hosting the Free 4 All Challenge today and asked that participants use pattern paper to create a color block design. I have therefore cased her Whoo's Birthday to enter in both challenges.

Congratulations, Dawn! Enjoy your day on the throne! I look forward to seeing the cards people are inspired to create in your honor!

Because I am using something old (the antique crocheted lace) and something new, (just delivered stamps and die cuts from Papertrey Ink) I am adding this card to Karen's TUIC challenge as well!

KSS 10 Minute Challenge #39

This week's 10 Minute Challenge has 3 ingredients: a 4.24 x 5.5 card, a 1.25 x 5.5 strip of colored cardstock, and the Kitchen Sink images of your choice! I'm feeling the holiday spirit, so two of my samples are Christmas!

Do what you like with the narrow strip. Punch it, emboss it, or just leave it plain.

If you upload your card to the Kitchen Sink Gallery, include keyword 10MC39.

Just Another 10 Minute Monday

The inspiration for this week's KSS 10 Minute Challenge comes from our friend, Dawn Mercedes. One of the signature marks found on many of Dawn's beautiful layouts is a die cut frame. She incorporates it into her wonderful designs in many unique ways. Visit Dawn's Blog, Sunnyside Up, and see for yourself!

For 10 Minute Challenge #38, I am including a popped up, die-cut frame over my stamped Kitchen Sink images. Thank you, Dawn, for your never ending inspiration!!

KSS 10 Minute Monday

As you can see above, I started each of today's ten minute cards by cutting two slits in my card front which were 1/2 centimeter larger than my stamped and matted panel. After stamping my Kitchen Sink image panels, I matted them and wove them through the slits and stamped my sentiment on the bridge created over the top of the panel. Quick, easy, and fun!
