Speedy's Friends Join with Operation Write Home

This week Speedy's Friends are joining in to help Operation Write Home celebrate their first birthday. If you are not familiar with this wonderful organization, their mission is to support our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. We are supporting this wonderful cause by creating birthday cards for the troops or for the troops to send home to family and friends.

Friends of Speedy's Fall Color Challenge

This week's challenge from the Friends of Speedy the Cat is to create a project using fall colors. I went into my scrap bags and pulled out pieces of SU Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, and Crushed Curry. I then wadded them up over and over until they became soft and beautifully wrinkled. I  stamped the large leaf from Autumn Fun by Mark's Finest Papers using Versamark on each scrap and embossed them with gold embossing powder. After cutting out each leaf,  then washed some additional color on each one using SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

Speedy's Friends Challenge - Use 5

Today's challenge brings with it lots of fun because you get to pick your poison!!! The challenge is to select an item and use five of it in your design. It can be 5 brads, 5 flowers, 5 colors, or 5 whatevers!!! You pick!

As you can see, I picked 5 ghosts from the upcoming Mark's Finest Papers' October release set called Broom Rides! Although I often like to mix and match stamps from different sets, all of these images are a part of this one set. Aren't they fun?
