Vintage Wedding Couple - Kitchen Sink Stamps

I so love the fabulous new vintage bride and groom from Kitchen Sink Stamps. I'm having such fun experimenting with various color combinations for this wonderful couple.

While shopping in Houston last week, I found this beautiful new BasicGrey paper and gorgeous rose ribbon and knew they were destined to become my next wedding card!

I let the colors in the paper dictate the colors for my bride and groom. Here is what I did:

Layer 4 - SU Creamy Caramel stamped off once, then (before stamping again) SU Cameo Coral added on the roses and bride's lips with a marker, SU Old Olive on the leaves and stems with a marker, and SU More Mustard on the tiara with a marker, huffed on the stamp and then stamped
Layer 5 - SU Creamy Caramel
Layer 6 - SU Creamy Caramel
Layer 3 - SU Blush Blossom
Layer 2 - SU Blush Blossom stamped off once
Layer 1 - SU Blush Blossom stamped off once

Stamps:  Wedding Couple Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps
Papers: Soft Suede, Whisper White, and Blush Blossom by Stampin' Up, cappella bravo! by BasicGrey

KSS New Releases - Wedding Couple and Wedding Rings

Well, it's a great day in the Kitchen as you get a peek at two new wedding sets being released just in time for those upcoming summer weddings and for today only a 20% discount on all Kitchen Sink Stamps purchases with the use of promo code LYNN20KSS.

For my first card I have used Wedding Couple Multi Step Clear Stamps which has 6 layers! Now don't let that scare you! I had a lot of fun with this.

The bride and groom stand 3 inches tall so this card is 5 inches by 7 inches.

I actually started with Layer 5 which has the hair, face, tiara, and bouquet details. Here is what I did. Using my blender pen (cleaning it carefully with each color change) and reinkers, I painted Memento Rose Bud on the blossoms, Memento Bamboo Leaves on the stems, Memento Potter's Clay for the groom's hair, Memento Desert Sand for the bride's hair and lips and the groom's lips, Memento Tuxedo Black for all the eyes, and Memento Dandelion for the bride's tiara. I then used my teardrop Memento London Fog pad to ink up the groom's suit. After all that inking, I huffed on the stamp just to be sure all the ink was moist before stamping.

Then the rest was easy peasy! I stamped:

Layer 6 using SU Basic Gray
Layer 4 using Memento Desert Sand
Layer 3 using Memento Desert Sand stamped off once
Layer 2 using Memento Angel Pink stamped off once
Layer 1 using Memento Desert Sand stamped off once just like Layer 3.

One thing I did differently than usual is that I used a Q-tip to wipe the ink off of the tiara and bouquet before stamping Layers 4, 3, 2, and 1.

The only other ink I used was Stampin' Up Creamy Caramel to sponge the edges of all the layers and to brush the tops of the Cuttlebug embossing. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.

Stamps: Multi Step Wedding Couple by Kitchen Sink Stamps
Papers: Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Creamy Caramel, and Basic Black by Stampin' Up
Tools: Cuttlebug Victoria Embossing Folder, Nestabilities Labels 4. Creative Memories Oval Cutter
Embellishment: Antique Lace and Organdy Ribbon

For my next card, I have used Wedding Rings Multi Step Clear Stamps to create a wedding card for the son of friends.
This set comes with wedding rings in two sizes and tons of fabulous sentiments!!

Stamps: Multi Step Wedding Rings by Kitchen Sink Stamps
Papers: Pure Luxury White by Gina K Designs, Basic Black by Stampin' Up, and Rose Embossed White by the Paper Studio

Kitchen Sink Monday by the Sea

Good morning all!! This Kitchen Sink Monday has me dreaming of summer days by the sea!

I was asked at the Texas Gulf Coast Paper Crafter's Shoebox Swap a few weeks back about ways to successfully stamp the large conch sea in the Sea Shells Multi Step Clear Stamps set by Kitchen Sink Stamps. So today I am going to share my secret (this is for you, Linda!).

I first stamped Layer 5 using SU Regal Rose stamped off once. I stamped Layer 5 again on a Post It note and cut that out to create a mask. I then masked Layer 5 before proceeding to stamp the remaining layers which allowed the pink to stay clean and not get muddied up with the added colors.

So here is how I stamped the shells:

Conch: Layer 5 SU Regal Rose stamped off once and then masked, Layer 4 SU Close to Cocoa, Layer 3 SU Creamy Caramel, Layer 2 SU Creamy Caramel stamped off once, Layer 1 Memento Desert Sand. I then removed the mask and used my blender pen and a little Desert Sand to blend and fill in any gaps which needed color.

Spiral Shell: Layer 4 Memento Grape Jelly, Layer 3 SU Creamy Caramel, Layer 2 Memento Lulu Lavender, Layer 1 Memento Desert Sand stamped off once

Sand Dollar: Layer 3 SU Close to Cocoa, Layer 2 SU Creamy Caramel, Layer 1 Memento Desert Sand

Starfish:  Layer 3 SU Close to Cocoa, Layer 2 SU So Saffron, Layer 1 SU So Saffron stamped off once

Stamps: Sea Shells Multi Step Clear Stamps, Big & Bold Swashes Clear Stamps,
Friends of the Moon Clear Stamps, and Words of Comfort & Joy Clear Stamps
Papers: Whisper White, Soft Suede, and Cool Caribbean by Stampin' Up
Inks: Shells shown above. Waves: SU Cool Caribbean, Sand: Sponged SU Creamy Caramel and speckles SU Close to Cocoa, Sentiment: SU Soft Suede
Tools: Nestabilities Labels 3, Martha Stewart Fern Punch
Embellishments: Pearls and Dimensionals

Be on the lookout next Monday for samples using the new Kitchen Sink sets being released on Tuesday, May 25! Don't forget to drop in on the rest of the crew to see what they have created to share with you today!

SCS Featured Stamper - Cathleen

When I saw that Cathleen, aka ctorina, was today's featured stamper, I knew I would need to find time in my schedule to case one of her gorgeous cards. Cathleen is a master of sensational layers and stunning bows! I chose to case her Wham Bam! Thank You Ma'am!

My card was created using Hydrangea Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps. I used the stem from KSS Lilacs Multi Step Clear Stamps and the script from Letters from the Past Multi Step Clear Stamps.

This is the order of the layers I use when stamping the hydrangea as well as the colors I use to create a purple blossom!

The leaves are stamped in this order: Layer 1 SU Kiwi Kiss, Layer 2 SU Old Olive, Layer 3 SU Always Artichoke.

The script was inked in SU Soft Suede, stamped off once, and then stamped over the masked blossom and leaves.

Papers: Whisper White, Soft Suede, and River Rock by Stampin' Up, Gold Damask by the Paper Studio
Embellishments: Pearls and Silk Ribbon

But all good things must come to an end, and today the crown and scepter are being passed on to Her Royal Highness Linda, aka hotwheels. Eyelets, Ribbon, Paper...Oh, My! - Challenge #4

I created today's Kitchen Sink card for Eyelets, Ribbon, Paper...Oh, My! Challenge #4 sponsored by Dawn. She said, "Design a card with a relatively plain front, a cut out window, and the stamping on the INSIDE!" Sounded like fun so that's what I did!

I used my computer to generate the background paper for my card front and 3 Circle Nestabilites to create my window.

I then stamped my graduation greeting and mortar board on the inside of the card leaving enough room at the bottom for a personal message!

Stamps: Graduation Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps
Papers: Basic Black and Real Red by Stampin' Up, White Georgia Pacific Cardstock
Inks: Memento Lady Bug, Rhubarb Stalk, and Tuxedo Black
Tools: Circle Nestabilities
Embellishment: Ribbon

This afternoon I am adding the second part of the Eyelets, Ribbon, Paper...Oh, My! Challenge #3. Members of the group were to create two separate cards using this same layout. I now have both Mother's Day (see that entry below) and Father's Day covered and it feels good to be ready early!

Today Speedy the Cat's Friends posted their first challenge and requested that participants create red, white, and blue cards. The nautical theme seemed to fit well with these colors and this fun layout!
