Ho Ho Ho! Happy Hollydays!

Today is all about cards at Angels Landing! The designers have created cards of all kinds to share with you!

I am hard at work working toward my goal of 75 one-of-a-kind holiday cards to send out to my friends and family this Christmas. There are several cat fans on my list this year, so I have created my card using this adorable Christmas kitten from the newly released Ho Ho Hollydays set from Angels Landing.

One of the wonderful things about digital images is that you can size and layer them in any way you would like.

I positioned and sized my cat and then brought the sentiments in over the top of him! These images were printed on white Georgia Pacific card stock and colored with Copic markers. The background polka-dots were stamped with Real Red using Itty Bitty Backgrounds by Stampin' Up. I added some fun holiday ribbons and a sprig of holly. I know my "Cat" friends will love it!

Digital Images: Ho Ho Hollydays by Judi Maddigan for Angels Landing

Papers: White Georgia Pacific, Real Red and Garden Green by Stampin' Up, Happy Holidays with Glitter by Hobby Lobby

Inks: Real Red by Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Embellishments: Ribbon and Holly

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #35

I created today's card for the challenge hosted by Guest Challenge Host, Francie G., for Flourishes. She asked that we create our design outside the box. I sponged an ocean sunrise on glossy white paper, cut the frame with my oval Nestabilites, and placed it over the sunrise on dimensionals. The shells were stamped using Seaside Life by Flourishes with Versafine Onyx Black and colored with Copic markers. I added punched seaweed from Martha Steward, ribbon, and pearls. The sentiment tag was created with Stampin' Up punches.

Autumn Fun with Kitchen Sink Stamps

Had fun today playing mix and match with my Kitchen Sink Stamps! I started by stamping the tree from Owl & Autumn Moon Multi Step Clear Stamps in Rich Cocoa on Bashful Blue card stock by Stampin' Up. After stamping the first layer of leaves in Dandelion Memento and the second layer in Tangelo, I added some Yellow and Orange Peel Stickles for a little bling.

Just had to throw in my wood plank and wrought iron fence for all our Georgia stampers!! I thought it would look great as a backdrop for these delightful KSS jack-o-lanterns. Thank you, ladies, for the wonderful experience of stamping with you! It was a remarkable day that I will never forget! You can read all about it on Maria's blog.

The fence was created using my EK Success punch and the third layer of the baseball bat from Baseball Multi Step Clear Stamps stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento ink on Close to Cocoa card stock from Stampin' Up. The punched top was inked with Versafine Onyx Black.

The jack-o-lanterns are from Pumpkins Multi Step Clear Stamps stamped in this order on white Georgia Pacific card stock:

Layer 2: Tangelo stamped off once
Layer 3: Tangelo
Layer 1: Cantaloupe
Layer 4: Potter's Clay stamped off once
Layer 5: Potter's Clay

Face Layer 1: Paris Dusk
Face Layer 2: Versafine Onyx Black

I then added the stems and cut out the pumpkins mounting them on dimensionals to the front of the fence.

I printed the Beware of Ghosts sign on my computer, punched it out, and sponged the edges with Desert Sand.

Stamps: Owl & Autumn Moon Multi Step Clear StampsPumpkins Multi Step Clear Stamps, and Baseball Multi Step Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Papers: Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa, and Basic Black by Stampin' Up, white Georgia Pacific card stock

Inks: Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Potter's Clay, Desert Sand, Rich Cocoa, Paris Dusk, Dandelion, Bamboo Leaves, and Cottage Ivy by Memento, Versafine Onyx Black

Embellishment: Gold pearls, Yellow and Orange Peel Stickles, Dimensionals

Tools: EK Success and Stampin' Up Punches

And this little card was created for the EjoyVC4 Challenge on Trish's Encourage Joy Blog. The rules were use 3 circular embellishments, two different designer papers, one ribbon, and no sentiment.

Stamps: Multi Step Pumpkins
Papers: Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White by Stampin' Up, designer papers from the Lime Rickey series by BasicGrey
Inks: Cantelope, Tangelo, Potter's Clay, New Sprout, Banboo Leaves and Cottage Ivy by Memento

Happy 2nd Anniversary, Kitchen Sink Stamps

What a fabulous time we had in Warner Robins, Georgia last weekend!! We started off Friday night with a time of fun and fellowship in Dee's beautiful home. What fun meeting and visiting with the crew and the workshop members. Dee provided the yummy treats and the gorgeous setting. And, yes, I did get my picture taken in her amazing stamping room under her awesome mural!

On Saturday the day got off to a perfect start with Maria's session on multi layer stamping basics and layering of colors. It was absolutely phenomenal.

The afternoon was devoted to projects using the new Sunflowers Multi Step Clear Stamps presented by Lisa, Dee, and me. Lisa taught two remarkable gift card presentations. Dee designed two gorgeous cards, and I presented this bookmark. I had printed the saying on white Georgia Pacific card stock, sponged the edge with pale blue ink and created a wood plank and wrought iron fence using the 3rd layer of the baseball bat from 3 Step Baseball and my EK Success punch.

Autumn Leaves - Kitchen Sink Monday

I so look forward each year to the arrival of cool crisp autumn days. They aren't here yet in Texas, but I'm beginning to see signs that they are finally on the way!

I created today's card using Autumn Squirrel Multi Step Clear Stamps and Big & Bold Swashes Clear Stamps by Kitchen Sink Stamps. The leaf frame was stamped on Kraft paper and the squirrel stamped on Barely Banana, cut out, and matted using oval Nestabilities. I distressed the edges of the ovals and mounted them on dimensionals. I used the Martha Stewart loop corner punch and copper glitter domes to add detailing to the oval frame.

Papers: Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Barely Banana, and Pumpkin Pie by Stampin' Up

Embellishments: Copper Glitter Domes

Angels Landing Travel Night Light

We've all heard it said that necessity is the mother of invention. That is the case with my Angels Landing project today. I'm going on a trip in a few days (I think you've heard that I'm going to Georgia) and will be spending the night in different places along the way. One thing I hate is waking up in the middle of the night disoriented and confused about my surroundings so I decided to create a travel night light that I can pack up and carry with me.

The frame of my night light is made from a 3.5 x 11 inch strip of Baja Breeze card stock. I punched one of the long edges with my newly favorite EK Success punch (thanks, Liz!!) and trimmed off the ends of the 11 inch strip so that each side of the frame had three peaks at the top. I scored the card stock after every third peak and used my oval Nestabilities to cut an opening in each of the four sides.

I printed the flowers and leaves from Pierced Flowers by Angels Landing on card stock vellum and colored them on the back side with Bic Mark It pens. Next I printed the swirl pattern from Pierced Backgrounds on computer paper and laid the colored vellum panel over it. I then pierced the marked piercings on the flowers and the swirls in the background on each of the 4 panels. After I had cut each of the pierced pieces to 2.5 x 3 inches, I attached them to the backside of the Baja Breeze with Scor-Tape. The outside ends were brought together and taped with invisible tape to create the cube.

The light is provided by a battery operated tea light and you can see how easily it folds flat to fit in my suitcase. I think it will be just what I need for my trip from Texas to Georgia and back again!

Papers: Baja Breeze and Card Stock Vellum by Stampin' Up

Tools: EK Success Punch, Oval Nestabilities, Paper Piercer, Bic Mark It Pens, Scor-Tape, Invisible Scotch Tape, Battery Powered Tea Light

Be sure you stop by Judi's Blog to see which other designers have created special projects for you today!! You won't be disappointed!!! What a talented bunch of ladies!!

KSCC#17 - Back to School

Kitchen Crew Member Makiko Jones is hosting Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge #17. She has asked us to use any type of school supplies as components in our projects! She says:

Use school supplies or items to make a card or project! Or you can alter the items.

Your finished project doesn't have to be the school theme but it would be great if it is. I altered (embellished) a plastic pen case with index cards and made the matching card. You can alter a composition book, use note book paper for a background of your card, embellish pens, pencils, markers or any other thing you can dream up!

Join us in the challenge! If you use Kitchen Sink images and some kind of school supply to create your project, you will qualify to enter the drawing for the prizes being offered by Kitchen Sink Stamps! Be sure to post your project using Mr. Linky on the KSS Weblog. If you post to other online galleries be sure to use the keyword KSCC#17! Check out these fabulous prizes!!!

1st prize is one NEW Large KSS set from Sept. 25th's Anniversary Release.
2nd prize is one NEW Small KSS set from Sept. 25th's Anniversary Release.
3rd prize is one (NEW SIZE) New Mini KSS set from Sept. 25th's Anniversary Release.

As you can see, the main school supply I have used to create my pencil holder is No. 2 pencils. I emptied and washed a tomato can to use as the base for my project. I got to get out my old Design Technology tools from my teaching years and sawed off all my pencils to 4.5 inches. After placing a strip of .5 inch Scor-Tape around the top and bottom rims of the can, I laid the pencils side to side all the way around the can.

I stamped the ruler from 3 Step School Days by Kitchen Sink Stamps twice end to end on white Georgia Pacific card stock and then matted it with red and black to create the bottom band. The top of the black matting was punched with my new EK Success punch and red rhinestones added for bling. I also added the apple with dimensionals. The "To my Teacher" tag was created using Other Important People also by KSS.

The tags on the pencils were created to look like spiral notebook paper using the Sprial Punch by Stampin' Up. I drew the lines with my markers after printing the message on my computer.

The pencil sharpener was covered with red and black cardstock and stamped with Whisper White ink by Stampin' Up.

Stamps: School Days Multi Step Clear Stamps and Other Important People Clear Stamps
by Kitchen Sink Stamps

Papers: White Georgia Pacific, Real Red and Basic Black by Stampin' Up

Inks: Real Red, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, So Saffron, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White by Stampin' Up, Versafine Onyx Black

Embellishments: Ribbon, Rhinestones, and Dimensionals

Tools: EK Success Punch, Spiral SU Punch, Scor-Tape, Bench Hook, Hack Saw

Other: No. 2 Pencils, Tomato Can

Diamonds are a Bear's Best Friend!

I'm busy working on making some refrigerator magnets for a November craft show. I made this one from a 4 x 4 chipboard coaster covered with designer paper. This precious teddy is a digital image from Mini Bears & Birds by Angels Landing. After finding this fun quote from the legendary Mae West, I just had to add lots of bling for this sweet bear!!

The bear was printed on white Georgia Pacific card stock and colored with Prismacolor Pencils blended with odorless mineral spirits. I created the hair bow with mauve tulle and the necklace with silver cording. Crystals were added for the bow, necklace, and bracelet.

The sentiment was computer generated and cut out with a Labels 2 Nestability die cut. I sponged the edges with Regal Rose and matted it closely with Regal Rose card stock. A row of crystals was added to emphasize the quote!!

I attached a row of tatted lace across the bottom of the coaster before mounting the cut out bear on layered dimensionals.
